Which one is the best.?
both are on Nougat
.69 has better battery life
.252 has better UI but poor batterylife!
Use Oreo, lol.
Try either eXistenZ, which is the best ROM out there, or use XGEN + FSC.

correction: ExistenZ is not rom, its basically a MOD to be flashed via TWRP over your STOCKROM
yes XGEN can be said ROM since everything comes out from ONE box

It's just a habit of calling eXistenZ a ROM. eXistenZ N for X was a ROM, as they were a standalone zips for TWRP.
Anyways it is not the theme of our topic.
P.S. For me ROM is something that is not based on stock firmware, like AOSP for example. I can combine .50 fw, deodex and eXistenZ in one standalone zip, and will it turn into a ROM?
P.P.S. And yes, there is an eXistenZ N which is based on both .69 and .252 fw.

I respect you habits sir
1. ROM is a Complete out of the box solution to drive your device. It can be Modded Stockrom (Persianrom, Panarom, Xgen) or even from Totally independent developers like ( LineAge, Omnirom, Cynogenmod, SailFish)
2. Aroma, ExistanZe are MODS. Aroma requires you to flash Sony Stockrom and then you can flash MOD. where ExistanZ has out of the box base rom .50 (some 2GB) and then extra 600MB mod need to be flashed via twrp in order to port XZ2 base apps
For newbie like me! I will easily get confused between ROM and MODS where one ROM has Totally different method of flashing and other one is simpler. ( Aroma/Existance v/s Xgen)

Hi, I want to know which Rom is the most popular Rom For Z2 and which of them Do you use for daily usage ?
1. existenz V5.1 Final MM
2. existenz V7 Lolipop
3. Mx Rom V8.6
4. Sony Stock
5. Aosp MM
6. Cm
7. other
I'm running on Mx Rom V8.6 for the daily usage, the ROM is very stable and fluid smooth. ExistenZ is best for fast update and lot features, but I'm feeling it became bit laggy overtime in long run.
Both are great ROMs and great developers, very grateful to have them in Z2 development. Been using custom ROM since Kit Kat on day one Z2 launched in my country.
I'm running Google Style ROM.
I've tried other ROMs as well, but I keep returning to this one. It's just perfect. Slim and AOSP-ish, while still maintaining Sony apps and features. Removing them further slims it down.
Toss in a couple of xposed modules like : N-ify, GravityBox, Lolistat and flash PexoCAM 8.5 and install LSpeed app to make it the best rom ever.
I've faced zero issues and I've been using it for months.

I have used @niaboc79 eXZ rom since the original Z, and his rom is far beyond amazing. Although he is now retired but I just dont want to switch away from this brilliant man's work.

Stock rom for daily use (23.5.A.1.291)
I'm using GoogleStyle ROM. In my opinion is the best rom in performance, battery life and multitasking. ExistenZ is very good for his personalization but have bad multitask.
Send from my D6503 with LB.
Switched from ExistenZ 5.1 Final to MX recently. Both are good but not perfect, each has some issues. Most stable and smoothest custom Z2 ROM ever posted in XDA in my opinion was Lollipop ROMs by Rajeev.
I'm on existenz lollipop final, I missed so much Real stamina mode that I step back from marschmallow Roma.

Z2 stock
Until i get another phone my z2 is stock on 23.5.A.1.291
As my everyday phone i dont want to kill it. For trails i have a Xperia Z with 10.7.A.0.228
If i unlock the boot loader, which is allowed, it never boots at all. Thanks to Flashtool i have always been able to recover. I cannot root without using KingoRoot.apk but that does not allow the correct version of SU to be installed. Tried Darkslide SuperSume to remove the crap that KingoRoot leaves but that ultimately fails because of the locked boot loader and i've already explained what happens if i try.
These issues make me reluctant to play with the Z2.
Hi friends,
First of all I would like to thank all the developers, testers and members of the forum. It is good to see that new roms, kernels are still being developed.
I just got a Note 3 few days back and I want to gain max from it in terms of balance/battery performance along with some customizations. Although I am familiar with the concept of rooting etc but in a simpler way. Like I have Nexus 7 2013 and there is a tool called Wugfresh NexusTool Kit. It does all things by itself and I just have to download roms or update the ToolKit.
I do not want to try many roms or kernels to find a right one for me. So consider this as a review suggestion for Rom+Kernel Combo. Now, What I need is :
1a. Volte must work,
1b. FP must work,
1c. Xposed Framework should work for greenify/adaway etc (preferred choice)
1d. Battery should not drain more than stock else no point flashing custom rom for me.
1e. Signal should be stable & wifi/hotspot work without problem as I use this device solely for WifiHotspot.
1f. Should be stable but I can adjust with less important bugs like Reading Light, Lite Mode setting etc. I dont need them.
1g. Feature rich.
1h. Rom should use least resources/ram etc and have no bloatwares.
So, kindly help me in finding a stable Rom+Kernel combo. My device is Kenzo(Snapdragon) with the latest stock MIUI 8.1.1.0 Rom and FP is FPC. Also, I do not have micro sd card so I can take back up of phone on the phone itself. I would also like to know about the process of successfully using f2fs format on Note 3. So friends, I am awaiting your kind suggestions.
Thank you.

If you want Xposed, you can't have Nougat, there's no Xposed for it. Radon kernel and the ROM I linked to is a good combination.
You can try RR Remix Rom + Radon kernel. Its a great combo with lots of feature, good battery life and stable for daily use. If you want Xposed than flash MM version of RR Remix Rom cause Nougat Rom does not support Xposed as of now.

Thanks but in Lineage OS 13(very good rom), people are still reporting bugs. I prefer a stable rom with almost no bugs.

Thanks, but which rom supports substratum and vulcan, if not RR Remix?
And which Recovery would be good, ZCX or Official TWRP 3.0.2.2?

Different tastes. hahaha .... :good:
In my opinion, I would love to get a N CROM with major bugs fixed than a M CROM.
Here is the fix for people who are having problems with hardware keys vibration, nothing special, just wanted to make it easier to find!
ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR ROM FIRST (NANDROID BACKUP)
1. Boot to Recovery!
2.Find zip file and flash it!
3. Voila!
Im on MIUI N ported rom 7.11.9 by TurkDevs and it works for me!
Some user provided me link for the fix and because its hard to find,Im sharing with you in this thread!
what does it do?
How does this ROM do as a daily driver? Flashed MIUI 9 MM again on my kate yesterday, and I kinda like it, but missing some nougat features.

Hello there! I am looking for the fastest rom for 2gb variant of kenzo. It can even be a marshmallow, nougat or Oreo. Every rom I tried was working poorly after a week or so.
What rom will be the most stable/fast working? Thanks!

My phone shuts down randomly while running AEX. This is the only rom that gives me such problems. Do you have any idea why? Or if there is any good rom you could recommend?

if you are using latest AEX, then please look at the version 5.4 which is stable for daily usage. 5.6 has some problem as it is based on new device tree .
Mcaosp latest + Agni 12.9 is also a very good option you can try it. mcaosp latest has very good battery backup. always clean flash the os . Use gaaps by Mcaosp also .
