Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Well i did but there is something wrong with twrp. I decompiled the img and swapped out every part from from the 3.2.3.0 into a 3.1.0.0 ramdisk and little by little i narrowed it down to the libaosprecovery.so and recovery within the sbin thats keeping it from booting. everything else replaced is working fine

He's on Android 4.2.2 jelly bean with the MDK bootloader. It is an exploitable bootloader that allows loki doki to be installed thus bypassing the bootloader lock that allows TWRP to be installed and custom ROMs to boot. Now you're probably wondering how you can get this bootloader. Well you can't because once you have updated to a newer bootloader, you can't go back.

I hate this!!!I wanna try to downgrade if is possible, trust me,i will brick brake hit do everything until the phone blows off by itself ?

If you attempt to downgrade you will brick your phone the moment ODIN finishes flashing the MDK firmware. If you're on lollipop, my advice is to root then use flash fire version 0.53 to flash the OC1 or OF1 bootloader then install stang5litre ROM from there.

I told you that would happen if you attempt to downgrade farther than OC1 or OC3 (can't remember which). This may help you if you wanna try and fix it, I don't know: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/general/guide-sch-i545-vrugof1-look-t3395833
Once you've got it back to working order, you can follow my guide here to get stang litre ROM running. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...al/guide-rooting-roming-sch-i545-pl1-t3846576

I loki patched the JFLTEXX (GT-I9505) TWRP 3.2.3.0 and flashed it and it seems to work. Something must be wrong with the JFLTEVZW builds of TWRP.

I was on soak test 5.0.2 before going to 5.1.1 custom ROMs... I restored to stock 4.4.4, and got the 5.1 notification...
MY QUESTION IS:
IS IT SAFE TO ACCEPT THE OTA? Will it brick my device?

Yeah ni Brick happens maybe,
AFAIK bootloader upgraded in 5.0.2 big update, so cant tell what happens, and if u used custom ROMs, then u cant live with Stock ROM anymore. Im sure you will restore that backup after trying Stock rom, IMHO wait for twrp backup of FINAL OTA and try that, not make any drastic steps now bcoz the device is year older so we have no Warranty now.. ...

Hey thanks bro, but I restored to 4.4.4 yesterday, got the OTA.... And guess what!!!!
I am running official 5.1 on my phone now... No brick has occurred, everything is smooth.
I have never taken such a serious and risky step before in my life! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
But I can guarantee you and other fellow XDA members
Don't be afraid to install 5.1 OTA after restoring to stock 4.4.4 from 5.0.2
It actually works, since it Motorola has made it official.
Two things to note though....
The bootloader has been updated
The partition tables have been updated
The recovery is no longer the Kitkat one (as seen in 5.0.2 soaks)
Oh and BTW, if someone wants to get back to 4.4.4 for some reason, then he CAN, by flashing all the firmware files of 4.4.4 EXCEPT the bootloader and the partition. He will also get the OTA and install it fine. Just tried it tomorrow.
Peace!

I have made the backup, ready to be flashed....
Here are two things to do prior to installing
Do a backup of the previous ROM
Wipe Everything
Now install, and as soon as it completes setup, DO A FACTORY RESET (it gave bootloops, so I am requesting).
And another interesting thing, if you change the language to English US, the new Boot animation appears
I will definitely upload by tomorrow...
Thanks for the patience

I had already made a back up just before rooting and after that I rooted, installed xposed etc.....When I got the stock recovery today I tried to restore the back up I had taken but same thing happened to me ....it didn't boot......stopped at android is starting then I forced switch off and rebooted to twrp and did a factory reset and then it booted ........
Initially it was showing the old animation (I had selected English (india) as language) but when I flashed the stock recovery , the animation changed to new one and I checked the bootanimation file is the same but I got the new one.....now when I flashed twrp again bootanimation stays as new one
Thanks for the upload again

[ROM] [STOCK] Android 6.0.0 MRA58K Flashable zip and more

As you might seen, Android 6.0.0 is live as factory images for now. ROM FLASHABLE ZIP
Works like a charm in Multirom, so fell free to download it to install it as secondary rom.
Bootloader is new. Grab it from here and flash it with Fastboot.
Radio is the same as DP3, so if you tried Android M Developer Preview 3, and flashed its radio img, there is no need to do it once again. For people using Lollipop radio, you can obtain Marshmallow radio img here. flash it with fastboot too.
BOOTLOADER + RADIO FLASHABLE ZIP FROM LEAN ROM DEV, ANDROID 6.0.0 IMAGES https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347830321
You can have a look at a quick video I made about Marshmallow here
BONUS : MATERIAL BOOTLOADER IMGDATA FLASHABLE, GIVES A MATERIAL FEELING TO THE NEXUS 5 BOOTLOADER
Im not able to answer everybody so I will write 2-3 things here.
This zip doesn't wipe data, cache, or dalvik. It only writes the system, and flash kernel. You have to full wipe including system partition if you want to get it working properly. Custom kernels are supported, and SuperSU used version must be at least 2.50 Beta.
To finish, if it doesn't boot for you, make sure you updated bootloader and radio to the M ones. If your phone can't boot at all, try another ROM. If it doesn't boot either, consider checking persist partition.
Enjoy it
Thanks!
Downloading now!
I mean: downloading radio and bootloader and zip when available.

You can't flash m as secondary., only with the build from tessadar, normally builds are always flash primary. You can use whatever radio you want. The radio doesn't need a.special Android version.

If you just reflash the stock system image that would erase any trace of root. You wouldn't lose any data. You'll only be able to flash the root zip/kernel if you've already unlocked your bootloader. If you've not done that you'll have to do it first and the process of unlocking will wipe the device.

Acquiring root without modifying the boot images is still under investigation. Please note that the current method will not be officially supported. Future roots may require a clean system: we are at a very early stage of root for 6.0, methods used are subject to change.

I'd download the factory image and update to the latest build. you can edit the "flash-all.bat" so that it doesn't wipe your phone. Change the command
"fastboot -w update" to
"fastboot update"
to preserve your data.
I have re-opened this thread, because the linked thread isn't the same - this isn't a duplicate.

Just boot loops for me , even with Chainfire's boot.img. Is it necessary to do the steps one right after another?
Neat! Glad it is all happening quickly. I think I want to keep encryption, so I will probably wait to root and install TWRP until wiping data to remove encryption is no longer necessary.
Can someone please confirm if the damn fingerprint sensor still works after rooting?

It should be the same routine for the OPX as all of those devices then.
Just to be sure, you're doing it this way (step 5)?
Make sure that your bootloader is unlocked first, or it won't flash (step 2).
Also, make sure that when you use the command "fastboot flash recovery xxx.img" that "xxx.img" is identical to the name of the img file you have placed in your sdk tools folder.

Unlocked is true
Does just unlocking bootloader usually trip the tampered flag?
So you're sure that you've enabled OEM unlocking in the developer options??

yes of course...Ive been through the process with the op2.
all drivers installed correctly, got rsa key, unlocked bootloader...one thing is that the confirmation bootloader unlocking screen was in chinese, but I chose the top option to confirm.
Same Issue
I'm having the exact same problem and would love to know a fix as well. My device is also unlocked by the tamper flag was not set off. I'm having the same problem of not being able to load TWRP onto the phone as well.
im guessing maybe because there isnt an official twrp for this phone.
There is only a custom and I know the internals are the same, but I think there are some kind of differences from phone to phone from region to region.

Hello,
I believe there is an official twrp. I did a search and found that you were already involved in that thread by @CafeKampuchia using the TWRP (onyx version) by @h2064
That was the initial recovery I had before I flash to the f2fs version by @eng.stk.

If you look here, there is no official TWRP for OPX yet, just for OPO & OP2.

I did kingroot, flasify, twrp, replace kingroot with SuperSU. Getting lazy and didn't connect it to a pc...

Flashify wouldn't allow me to flash twrp either.

I have no idea if it is unlocked... like I said I didn't use a computer.

Root

I mean is there any possible way to root this device? I tried flashing SuperSU, didn't work. Then I tried flashing the systemmode SuperSU, got stuck in the bootloader warning text. I also tried some pre rooted Roms from the forum.. and they just won't boot. What am I missing here..??

I didn't. I had no clue what it was. I just flash recovery n install the SuperSU file with it on other phones.
Now I'll try rooting it once the nougat arrives.

I know. I read your experience thread. I'm just waiting for the nougat update to arrive. I'll try rooting it with your method after that.

Nougat could introduce more issues (e.g. Xposed doesn't work with Nougat as of today... Magisk & SuperSU... who knows?) but in theory steps should be the same...
More: this is unknown to most (and I don't have a clear explanation for it... only some hypothesis...) but even TWRP could have issues...
On another phone I've found (only one time to be honest... ) that an updated firmware required an updated TWRP to have it working (older one simply doesn't booted anymore even if reflashed...)

Damn! I'll root it tomorrow then. Meanwhile I hope someone is working on an AOSP/CM14. The development for this phone is so scary :crying:

I don't like OTAs at all... I'll prefer going with flashing full images by fastboot (if stock images) or TWRP (if custom ROMs or zip flashable version of stock images...).
They are safer and cleaner than OTAs...

Well done...
@enetec
Are you able to restore all the changes you made to /system, to successfully install the next OTA-update?
Or you just reflash the whole stock image before the next ota?

As I said elsewhere, I don't like OTAs at all...
Probably it could be possible to restore all as stock from my backups, but I will surely update (when I'll decide to...) using fastload or TWRP (depending of image formats...) as you said...
