It's easy to do. Just delete the file system/etc/mixer_paths.xml and just rename system/etc/mixer_paths_bak.xml to mixer_paths.xml
Is there maybe an edge version
What is wrong with all YT background players. They all started go bad after 1 song or so. I must open the screen and let the app reload the clip. OMG!>!>! Youtube just played us! Even YouTube Vanced from this rom is not working corectly.
Thanks for making this ROM available!
Today I did the following (coming from Lineageos 14.1, latest build, on a G920F):
Create a Nandroid backup
Factory Reset
Wipe cache and Dalvik cache
Flash SND Rom
Flash Magisk 16.0
But after rebooting, my phone is stuck on the Samsung logo, with the blue led very slowly pulsing. I've booted into TWRP again, and flashed both the ROM and Magisk ZIP another time. However, same result.
Edit: Never mind ... tried it a third time, and now it works.
Edit2: Hmm ... same issue after doing a factory reset in the stock ROM, and rebooting ... I think I'll go back to LOS 14.1 for now.

No. Isn't easy to do. I deleted the original mixer_paths.xml but the file mixer_paths_bak.xml inside etc folder it's missing or doesn't exist originally. I'm trying to remove completely the Alexis surround mod to install stock audio conf and use viper4android. Actually I have installed V4A but not working says: driver status: abnormal. Any idea?

Same thing happened here. I flashed Magisk, did a full wipe, etc. Stuck at the Samsung logo, pulsing, but not going anywhere. I gave it an hour to boot up the first time. I've reflashed a few times, no dice. The phone is warm the entire time so the CPU is doing something, idk what though.

Anything you could ever ask for to update your i777 in one place. Download link below...
ROM: cm-12.1-20151213-UNOFFICIAL-i777.zip
Features
Compiled with UBER toolchain (supposedly faster than standard toolchain)
Outgoing call bug fixed (hacked, whatever, it's not there anymore)
TRIM support (thanks to Lanchon)
Otherwise unchanged
CM is awesome.
GAPPS: tk_gapps-modular-pico-5.1.1-20150913-signed.zip
Features
Works.
MODEM: I777UCMD8_modem.zip
Features
Nobody knows, but it's the latest version that I'm aware of.
RECOVERY: SGH-S959G_TWRP_v2.7.1.0.zip
WARNING
This is for the S959G (which I think is identical in every way to the i777). It works on the S959G but I have not tested it on an i777.
XPOSED
So good. Works fine.
You need to install the .zip in recovery, and the .apk normally.
Uninstall .zip included.
Download
Installation instructions can be found on CM's website.
* If upgrading from CM12.1, wipe /data/dalvik-cache first (you probably don't even need to wipe /cache).
* If upgrading from any other ROM, you need to factory reset first (ie. wipe /cache and /data).
Good luck!

1. ROM
2. Kernel & GAPPS & Xposed -> All optional, order doesn't matter.
Modem can be flashed at any time and does not overlap with any of the above flashes.
Probably clean flash for most purposes unless you're coming from prior version of CM12.1

What device? I777? Also clean or dirty flash? I'll try to work on the modem issue sometime next week.
Clean install. Coming from cyanide Lollipop. Had TWRP when I flashed the kernel. I tried both flashing kernel first followed by the ROM as well as ROM followed by kernel. Both had the same issue.

I built a fully updated version (20151104) last night (see first post for download link). You no longer need to install Lanchon's kernel (TRIM support is built in).
I am installing this ROM on my own device (S959G) right now and testing it out.
Instructions:
1) Optional, if you want to try to flash the modem: install the version of TWRP you had initially, and try to flash the modem through that.
2) Install ROM.
3) Install GAPPS
4) Install XPOSED (if you want - make sure to re-download as the version is updated from v74 to v75).
OK. its been a while since i flashed a lollipop rom. so here i go. im currently running shostock3 v4.0 on my i777. if i flash a kitkat compatible recovery

That's right. Not 100% sure about the recovery (I've never used that one), but I think you would be in good shape. Make a backup onto your computer first so that you have a contingency plan in case you soft brick.
If you're flashing on the i777, then I believe this ROM will replace your recovery with the stock CM12 recovery (just FYI - should be inconsequential).

Yeah I installed an older version of xposed (v74) in the past and it caused a bootloop. Using v75 with this nightly has been pretty stable for me.

I'm stuck on the CM logo. Worse, I thought this came with TWRP. It comes with the CM recovery. I made a back up with TWRP and moved it to my computer prior to flashing. The CM recovery is worthless. Not sure where to start getting back to my old Rom (Omni 4.4.4).
Edit: Good to go and back on 4.4.4. I was hoping to move forward with this version. Not sure what happened. I used Odin to install the Siyah kernel with CWM and then was able to flash a Kernel with twrp to restore my back up.
I'm wondering if I had flashed a Kernel with TWRP at the beginning if it would have made a difference. I may try that now since I'll be looking at the triangle screen from now on anyway.
I do recommend that it be clear in the OP that the stock Kernel contains CM recovery and not TWRP.

The bootloop is weird - did you inadvertently install an old version of Xposed (happened to me once)? Wipe data/cache/system and reflash - should do the trick.
I'll try to build a TWRP'ed version, shouldn't be too hard...
HI i am new to this thread and I have some serious issue with gapps for cm12.1 OK to my problem...
I successfully flashed cm12.1 nightly latest ver. and have downloaded gapps(arm,5.1,nano) I am using twrp recovery flashed my ROM and gapps successfully and after rebooting I get many errors com.gapps , play services and many more errors like that but whenever I flash my ROM without installing gapps it works fine(with no play sgoogle play services etc) plz help me I am in serious trouble... My phone is s4 non lte plz help
Sounds like you might be trying to use Open Gapps. The Official CM12.1 thread for your phone suggested the TK Gapps found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347 - Either mini or micro. They are a bit out dated, but they should work and you can just update once everything is set up.
Not working
Sorry friend it dosent work for me as i had already tried tk gapps and open gapps and pa today but i don know what the problem is just flashed the rom properly 12.1 cm nightly latest its not my first time though..
thx
maybe some one could seriously help me
Could be the recovery you are using. Are you wiping /system partition when reflashing CM + Gapps? You might also look into one of the optimized builds of CM, such as GearCM as well.
yes I am wiping dalvik and everything before flashing the gapps and rom and also I had seen many vids on YouTube regarding cm12.1 on s4 i9500 and downloaded from the YouTube link provided and follow the same procedure as they do but unfortunately I messed up don't know why.....
oh and one thing can you tell me is there any harm if I flash my phone multiple times... any storage disk issues.. like slowing and any ram issues??
i hope this help you:
download the latest cm12.1 for s4
and flash latest twrp recovery for this device
now go to google and search for "open gapps"
and select the open gapps project then
select "arm" and "5.1" and "pico" and download it
then go to device recovery and advanced wipe to system, cache, data and dalvik
and flash the cm first then flash the opengapps good luck

Don't worry flashing roms is very simple process it is only remove files and copy new files
if you flash a new rom even more than 1000 time your device will not be bricked
good luck

As i said installing rom for android device doesn't effect on the device performance
and the never cause any slowing for disks except if the rom you installed was too bad this is another problem
however, don't worry if your device bricked or any else just power it off and boot to download mode then
flash the latest lolllipop 5.0 stock tar.md5 rom and every thing will be ok!
remember DON'T WORRY

I mentioned a possible recovery issue in post #4. Glad you resolved it though.
I installed latest nightly update and now I enter my pattern, device unlocks and I see the android wallpaper only for a few seconds, then device locks again. I also noticed that any pattern I enter gets accepted even if it's different than the one I set before the update. Unfortunately I did not create a backup before doing this and now I'm stuck. Any solutions other than wiping and starting all over again?

I updated using cm updater within android environment. If I reflash rom do I loose my data? I mean downloaded apps settings etc.. cause I really don't want to format...
if you do a drity flash over the current firmware you shouldn't loose them but I can't guarantee that it will work.
I would flash it like this:
Firmware -> CM -> gApps (links in CM13 thread)
if you have problems with battery stuck at 50% flash radon kernel test version to fix it.

Hello, can this rom be installed for SM A510FD?
link down, is/was it even real?
Link updated.
Hi, good work. I'm working at Exynos7580 team on GitHub, so share used sources and maybe I can help you on some bugs!
I wiped everything without wiping sdcard and flashed the rom, flashed beans gapps then the bootlogo was the same as my previous rom (LyOS) and an error with kernel is not seandroid enforcing appeared.
Edit: I used smartswitch to get my device to official nougat firmware then I put TWRP again, wiped everything, flashed this rom and beans gapps then bootloop again with message "kernel is not seandroid enforcing".

To go back to default logo you'll need to either flash a zip with that logo or make a tar of the param partition (param.bin) to flash with odin.
It's not included in the single file firmware packages.
"kernel is not seandroid enforcing" is not an error. It's a warning. Nothing to worry about. It does that with non stock kernels even if it is enforcing.
It's to let you know that the kernel is not stock and you may be vulnerable.
You can check in rom if the kernel is enforcing or not. It may still be enforcing.

Ok. When you flash this rom, it will also flash the kernel that comes with it. That's why you get the warning.
Bootloop..did you wipe data, cache, dalvik in TWRP before you flashed the rom? Does it get stuck on logo or bootanimation?
I attach the param here so you can flash it in odin to get original logo back. Unzip it, put it in AP slot. It's taken from 4-file repair firmware.

I do not need official logo because I have tried after that to get official firmware. Then I have flashed the rom after wiping everything, yes, (without sd card). It bootloops at logo (Samsung A5 2016) with "kernel is not seandroid enforcing". I am using A510F.

Ok, I though you meant that the logo didn't get restored using Smart Switch
Don't know why it loops on logo. There's screenshots of it so I assume it should be bootable.
I can't try it myself neither cause I got A310.

Well, the system folder in the zip contains only the build -prob
+the android version is 7.1.2 , which wasn't released yet for a5(2016).
I will have a look at the rom, I think it's for a5(2015) .
Edit: Works fine , just the usual bugs , i don't mind for fingerprint and home buton wake-up.
-Only the audio is the problem here.
Good Job for this ROM : )

I flash it, it work verry well, except the sound (work just with headphones), at least for me, the others bugs like fingerpeint and home button for wake up it's not a big deal cuz i don't use them anyway

Instructions For Installing Pie Roms
Please Note This Is Not A Root Method For Oreo Or Pie. As Of Now There Is Still No Root Method For Oreo Or Pie. This Takes Some Patience To InstallNote8 SM-N950U/U1/W Install Instructions And Files
If you didnt upgrade to V8 bootloaders using odin. I recommend flashing full stock firmware with V8 bootloaders even if you are already on V8 bootloader via OTA update. I feel that maybe something in the OTA from V7 bootloaders to V8 may have corrupted a bootloader file and some people have experienced bricks with trying to update to V8 bootloaders from V7 using the below method so I recommend flashing full stock V8 firmware in Odin before trying this method and just understand there has been a risk of bricking device. Full stock can be found on Sammobile or updato or any other service you can find it. You will have to reroot of course. If you Updated to V8 bootloaders using odin method already then no need to do so again
Download
N950USQS8DVB1_SAFESTRAP.7z
Google_Pixel_Experience_Pie_8_Seriers.zip
Flash after you flash the system image above with a data wipe
After setup you need to set google dialer as default call app
Install Instructions Safestrap Method New Install Or Base Update
Make Sure The Latest Samsung Drivers Are Installed. They Can Be Found Here
You Must have safestrap installed to get safestrap follow the guide located below
Root And Safestrap For Note8 Up To V7 Bootloaders
1. If on V6 bootloaders before starting the process. If on V6 Pie rom reboot to download and flash the BL_N950USQS8DTG3_LEAVE_SAFESTRAP.tar.md5 then reboot this will put you on V8 bootloaders before starting
2. Copy SYSTEM_****.img to your internal sdcard. Reboot to safestrap In Safestrap choose install then choose select storage and select internal storage click ok then at bottom choose install image and choose SYSTEM_****.img then select flash to system image then swipe to flash. You can flash any mod zips at this time after you flash system image. Then in wipe tab chose wipe then advance wipe then wipe data
3. To leave safestrap reboot to bootloader or download from reboot tab.
4. In odin load BL_N950USQS7DTE5.tar.md5 in BL slot and
HOME_CSC_OYN_N950U_CACHE.tar.md5 in CSC slot flash phone will reboot to recovery and wipe cache then reboot
Instructions To Enter And Exit Safestrap After Initial Install. To Flash A Zip And Etc.
1. To enter safetrap flash the BL_RNTER_SAFESTRAP_N950UDTE5_V7.tar.md5 in BL Slot in odin phone will boot too safestrap sometimes it may take a minute to do so
2. To leave safestrap reboot to download from safestrap reboot menu
3. Use modded Odin and load BL_LEAVE_SAFESTRAP_N950UDTE5_V7.tar.md5 In BL Slot

Mod Zips
SM_N950U_Mods_Safestrap_PIE.zip This will add call recording and a few other features to your csc
View attachment Adaway_Blocking_No_Root_Pie.zip
Install zip in safestrap
boot phone back up to system
you will have 2 apps in your apps drawer Host Adblocking and Stock Adblocking
too enable adblocking run the Host Adblocking app it may require rebooting phone to work
too disable adblocking run Stock Adblocking this probably will not require a reboot
what this does is move the system/etc/hosts file to the internal storage of your phone then I symliink the one in the internal storage to the system/etc/host file this way the file can be changed back and forth . If you would wipe data in stock recovery however you would need to reflash the zip in safetrap as a data wipe would delete the host file since it is now located on internal storage
Asking for clarity on the 80% bug. Is that bug only present if you are rooting the device? Is that a specific partition that gets modified that causes that bug that is only modified during the root process? Does this method without rooting the device also have the 80% bug with it?
Kind regards,
Cyrano
It's not a bug

Been having issues with the N950USQS7DTA5_SAFESTRAP.rar filed in post #1. Doesn't unrar or unzip. Maybe it's just on my end but has anyone successfully used and accessed this file? I have tried downloading it twice to no avail.
EDIT: Looks like changing the version of 7zip I was initially using (version 19) to an older one (version 16) did the trick. No more unrar unzip issues.
What if you are already on the latest bootloader ? Also will I then be able to install an adbocker ?

Go to software information in setting it will show you
<strikethrough>If on rooted nougat rom, wanting to go to pie from here, need to wipe / factory reset first before ODIN step? </strikethrough>
Actually, please confirm since I was running stock pie on BL7, and now I am on rooted nougat, all I need to do is reboot to safestrap, and wipe data / factory reset and then flash the DTA5_system.img .
Thanks for all this ... miss the flashing days.

If you want root you have to use the rooted nougat rom in the root thread. This rom is not rooted but still has safestrap so you can still flash mod zips and delete system apps. So why do you need to disable knox? I mean on this rom you could delete it if you want but that will break Samsung pay and pass

I tried this rom. Removed samsung camera pie app, install a nougat camera app which i like but it won't work, which for me is deal breaker on this pie rom. The camera is always top priority feature on phone these days.
There's something very very special about camera app that samsung want to control it and its quality and we can never revert back to its original quality in android 7.1.1 even with some "hacking" like this. why make things so hard then i will make thing hard to buy you
Thank you for your work but i am afraid i use samsung phone again
