I want to install android 8.1
I have my bootloader unlocked and also root access
I just have to delete cache/system and dalvik then flash the rom and flash gapps?
Wipe data too(assuming rom change), Use orange fox recovery, it has no problems with encryption.
I recommend liquid remix.

Hi, I am using Redmi Note 3 Pro(Snapdragon). I flashed custom rom by flashing CM14.1 Frimware Kenzo 12.04.2017, Lazy flash tool, RR-N-v5.8.3-20170709-kenzo-Weekly and Gapps. Everything is working file. I got an update to RR-N-v5.8.3-20170716-kenzo-Weekly, downloaded it and tries to flash. Go to twrp recovery and go to wipe then advanced then wipe Dalvik/ART Cache and Cache. Then i install successfully latest ROM. After that, when i reboot my device, it stucks on mi logo and restating. I have changed the bootanimation. Hepl me to go for the latest update.. When I tried to Restore the older version of RR Rom, My device sensors wll not work and i cant hear while i am calling. Plz solve this too..

Is there anyway to update without loosing any data? Wipe system and other things will clean my all data and i need to start from the beginning. That was too bad. I hate this process. Tell me how did u flash? or Is there any other way to flash without loosing data?
Just wipe system , cache & dalvik cache you'll not lose any data

How to install RR Oreo latest version on my RN3.. I have unlocked bootloader and have twrp installed.. can anyone tell me step by step process.. I mean what to wipe.. backup.. install in twrp.. thanks in advance
Exactly like you'd install any ROM. Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik, flash latest firmware, flash ROM, flash GApps, reboot.
I unlocked my bootloader with unofficial zcx rom and flashed liquid remix 8.1.0 and phone is rebooting in almost 3 to 4 minutes and I've tried 3 4 other roms and in every rom my device boots in 3-4 mins. Reflashed stock rom unlocked bootloader again with zcx rom and flashed custom rom liquid remix 9.0 still phone is rebooting in around 4 min. Is there any solution to fix slow startup?

Download orange fox recovery.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/orangefox/files/kenzo/
Now Go in to zcx recovery
Flash fox recovery zip
U will automatocally boot into new fox recovery .
Now u have fox recovery.
First format data and then wipe data.
FORMAT DATA IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT. WIPE DATA IS NOT SAME.
if u dont do format data . rom will not boot.
So try to search format data option and use it.
+1 for @naik2902 if yu go from miui to any aosp, you have to format data in order to make everything work propertly (any twrp based recovery -> wipe -> format data -> type yes)
make a backup before everything you need from internal storage.
taking much longer time to reboot in recovery
after installing orangefox recovery and wiping the data now my device is taking more time to reboot into recovery mode.

Any solutions?
Okay. I am tired of constantly bricking and reinstalling my stock rom onto my Cubot. If not for Titanium Backup i would be so frustrated. So i have decided to ask for help with flashing the Phhusson ROM.
The problem i have is that i do not know the proper steps to install the ROM.
I have unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, cleared cache, data, vendor, dalvik and installed system.img and magisk for root, but no luck.
I keep getting NO OS installed.
Anyone who successfully installed a CUSTOM ROM for their Cubot X18 Plus please give a tutorial here. Preferably a video tutorial. :good:
Also, if you have any pointers for restoring base band (i have tried flashing stock, copying emmc to root, having driver issues with magic box) i would love help on that but you can private message me if you wanna help (ill pay if you want to be paid, but not much)
You don have to whipe vendor because this is the base folder of the phone its like the kernel but in treble.
You habe to search a pre tested rom on cubot x18 pluss Like AOSP 9.0 from PHHUSSON on GitHub
i wish you good luck, im going to install it to in my cubot, and sorry for my english because im Chilean.

Hi, I was able to useflash phh GSI (works just great btw). This is how I ended up doing it:
1. Flash TWRP.
2. In TWRP you'll see errors due to the encryption of the partitions. To resolve this you have to format the userdata partition either with fastboot either with TWRP
3. After fixing the encryption problems in TWRP mount and transfer Magisk to the phone and flash it using TWRP.
4. Transfer the GSI image (A only) and flash it using TWRP. At this stage you could flash it with fastboot as well if you reboot to the bootloader, but don't boot into the system yet. As I said before I used PHH AOSP 9 GSI image.
5. Wipe using TWRP and reboot to system.
The first time I tried to flash it I used the stock recovery wipe function which wipes out the IMEI and stuff, this forced me to reinstall stock rom to set the IMEI with the MTK engineering tools and restart the whole process.
How to go back to MIUI A10 based ROMs from OSS Vendor based ROMs without losing decryption and data:-
* Requirements: Decrypted Storage (if not Decrypted Format data before doing those steps), MIUI A10 Stock ROM, Orange Fox Recovery (TWRP didn't work very well for me) and DFE (attached)
* Steps:-
1. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
2. Flash MIUI ROM
3. Reboot recovery
4. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
5. Flash MIUI vendor based rom
6. Reboot recovery
7. Flash dfe
8. Reboot to system
Voila! Now you have your data as well as decrypted storage
Thank me later xD
Nice one. Thanks!

Not fw you'll have to flash the whole rom.
You can flash any Android 10 MIUI ROM (Except Elite) . I used MIUI pulse in my case.
