Is there a way to manually remove notifications from the OS directly?
Issue: I have Arlo cameras, Each time a cam sees movement I get an alert on my phone via the app. The android app is having issues now where you will get multiple alerts for the same activation. Each time you change alert settings it adds an alert, reinstall the app, it adds an alert. So I turned off alerts one day when workers were at my house, and when I reactivated the alerts later I started getting two alerts per activation. In trying to fix this I turned off alerts and turned them on again, then i was getting 3 alerts per activation. I reinstalled the app then i was getting 4 alerts per activation. The issue is easily reproducible and many users are having the issue in the netgear/arlo forums since about april but there is no fix from Arlo. Turning off alerts for the app in the OS settings menu does stop all alerts for it, but when you turn it back on there you still get the multiple alerts.
Some users seem to be able to fix the issue by disabling & deleting backups, installing and then reinstalling the app, but this has not worked for many. The only fix that seems to work for everyone that tries it is to wipe the phone completely. Just do not want to do that.
I am up to 7 alerts now and Its driving me nuts.
in my non-developer view, I'm guessing that the app is not removing alerts states in the OS when they are deactivated in the app or during uninstall and then is also not checking if an existing alert state is set in the OS for itself before setting a new one. So anything you do that would set an alert its adding a new one, rather than replacing the existing one. Seems to me there must be a way to manually remove the alert states in the OS?

My wifi and data connection disconnects when screen goes off on my huawei ascend mate 2. For samsung phones it can be solved with secret codes like ##0011# but for huawei phones the secret codes are not working. or do you know a working secret code on hardware level for this? my power save mode is off. wifi is set on always on mode. auto synchronisation is on. my apps can all run in background. So I have set off all possible energy saving option for all apps. besides I have downloaded apps to keep wifi always on. but when I put it on always on mode on this app. It mentions that the wifi set on always on mode. but after 2 seconds I open the app (wifi always on app) it says that the wifi is on saving mode and not in always on mode. So there is another more dominant program (probably the huawei custom ROM) who has more privileges than a normal app so that it avoids that wifi is on always on mode.
Sometimes even when the screen is on, viber whatsapp does not receive calls or messages you should launch the app to receive calls and messages. you would say that it is a synchronisation problem. No. No. sync is on for all accounts. all accounts have full access on all my data and on the battery. All settings about battery saving options are set off.
I have sort of the same issue. I use KIK to talk to a lot of friends and on other phones I've had (LG G3 previously), I could load up the task manager and clear away all apps and it had no effect on getting messages. Now, with the HAM, if I clear away running programs, including KIK, even though I have KIK set as a protected app, I will not get any messages and people who send me messages say it stays on S (sent) as opposed to D (delivered). If I clear out all running apps and then load KIK up again before turning off the screen, the messages get delivered and I get notification. It's a little annoying, but keeping the program I want to receive notifications, running, seems to solve the issue for me.
Guys I have been getting random cell broadcast from every place of this city as I travel from home to other places after I installed nougat. As its a System App I cant force close the notification. So I just have selected Show notifications silently.
its really frustrating the notifications just keep coming there is no stop to this. its been a week now.!!
Is there anyway I can disable this from showing up or anything?
disable it.
settings-> applications->cell broadcast->disable
or
you can turn off through the (los) Messanger or google Messanger settings.
On LineageOS / Nougat, the customary "alert" settings have no effect, and there is no app called CellBroadcast-whatever.
Instead, it is now called "Mobile Broadcasts", and cannot be disabled via the standard System->Apps menu. However, you can remove SMS permissions from it, which might help.
Or one can also use TitaniumBackup to "Freeze" it (disable it completely without uninstalling).
I get this daily notification to enable location services so it can update the network time even though I already have the system setting to update network time automatically.
It is coming from the phone as you can see and it still rings and vibrates even though i have them off.
I spent an hour on the phone with huawei today and they said it must be an app requesting the location which doesn't make sense to me as it says it is to update the network time (which I already have on).
I have never had a phone insist I turn on location services with a daily reminder before.
Just turn it on and leave it...it helps with many things that the phone does...maps, third party apps that find cell towers and WiFi hot spots, and of course what time zone you are in.
thanks, but I want to know how to stop the phone from asking me to turn it on every day, I don't want my gps on 24/7
Turn off automatic time and automatic timezone?

Any luck with this? I've got this damn annoying notification popping up every few hours or so too.... Have tried manual date and time adjustment. Also tried unticking all notifications managements within and it still shows up

Same here. On my mate 20 x. I googled this and found this thread.
Any luck?
I'm also experiencing this, I tried the same things as other posters here but still haven't found a way to stop this annoying daily notification. I'm on a Huawei P20 Pro.
Try turning off automatic time zone (whatever it's called in your settings)
Wrong.
I, too, am having this problem (also - as yet - without resolution) on Huawei.
I believe this problem (for me) is BECAUSE I have "automatic update" for Time/Clock turned off, and GPS turned off, BUT Google Services wants it/them turned on (by default). Indeed, I am lead to believe that you cannot remove Google Services from Android, while disabling Google Services is not effective. Love, Fred (not my real name).
None of the notifications are pushing through. The phone is in my hand, I am making a call to my discord account, and the call doesn't get through unless I open the app. It works perfectly fine when I restart the device and start the application. The notifications don't get through if I don't start the app. Same problem with Whatsapp, Skype, and Gmail.
I have tried everything except formatting the device. Disabled battery optimization, given special access to all apps, enabled all the notifications in all the apps, enabled draw over feature whenever possible. My notifications aren't coming through. I use Skype for work, and this is a new device, hardly a month old now.
Does anyone else face the same issue? Any solutions?
Reset app preference.
Check if you have DND enabled by any chance.
Worst case format it.
For Skype, you need to select run in background in skype settings as well(apart from the usual settings and battery options)
Hey, thanks for replying so quickly.
Same problem after resetting app preferences and restarting the device, Shashank1320. Notifications come through till I disconnect from Wi-fi. Once I reconnect, the notifications don't come through.
Hello everyone,
I'm having huge issues with notification:
- SMS (almost) never launch notifications, and this is VERY frustrating, think about SMS from bank or 2f authentication. I'm using stock SMS app
- many apps (like YouTube) many times when there's a notification, this disappear automatically after few second
- sometimes the phone light up the screen without a notification, so I don't know what's happened
I tried to search how to fix the notifications problem, I tried to lock app in multitasking, set manual boot and set the battery permission.. but nothing, the problem still remain. Its so annoying.
I'm using a mate 20 Pro (lya-29) with emui 10 and April security patch, I factory resetted the phone 1 month ago, I have 70gb left and few apps installed.
I also read the powergenie thread, but I would rather fix this problem in another way (if exists).
Thanks
PS: emui sucks, really, i'm hating this phone only for this annoying software.
I went the PowerGenie kill route PLUS DOWNGRADED the native SMS app (after trying even beta without luck) and my SMS notifications work fine now.
BTW :there is zero negative impact of uninstalling PowerGenie in case you are concerned.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
I got the same problem about notifications : they appear when lockscreen, but when I unlock it they disappear.
I must reboot for fixing it on short run.
So annoying.
