So I got a new software update a few days ago and ever since when I record in 4k at 60 fps, but only 4k 60 fps it automatically saves it in internal storage regardless of my preferred setting. Is anyone else getting this? Is there any workaround without rooting?
Same here… trying to get to the bottom of it!
I even downgraded one firmware back but got same results, although I didn't notice if camera app ceraion changes .
Can you check your camera app version from Settings-apps?

I just noticed today for some reason my phone no longer has the option to record videos in Hi-Res. The highest available option is the DVD option. The "hi-res" selection isn't even there anymore.
Also, the 10 minute video time restriction bug that was fixed with the latest Gingerbread update is back..... When I updated my phone with that update a while ago, the bug was fixed and I was able to record as much as I had memory space, but now the 10 minute limit is back.
Anyone else have this problem and/or know of a way to fix it?
Thanks!
Hi guys.
i've had my prime for awhile now, used it's video recording before, but today it seems to be having some problems.
1. Video Recording in Full HD 1080p for 1 min, once i click on the stop, it hangs there for quite awhile, and ultimately pops up the message box "camera app has hanged" , even if i click wait, the camera seems to hang indefinitely and the only way for me to close it is to force reboot.
2. If i record at 20sec or 40sec, it doesn't have a problem. though it hangs around (i think it's converting the videos)
anyone else have this problem? also anyone knows of any alternative camera app other then the stock one?
Mine did the same thing the other night and I had to force close it. When I tried to relaunch the application it said it could not connect to the camera device. I had to do a full shutdown and reboot. I think there are too many bugs either in the OS, the application or the tablet. If you find a better camera app let me know please.
Glad to hear i'm not the only one
There's a few more things i noticed though. This only happened after the recent update. So i'm guessing it's a software problem.
2nd thing is, i'm wondering if it is necessary to actually do a conversion after the video recording. My HD2 phone can record videos without any hanging after i click on the stop button.
Not much hanging or crashes here but I do experience freezes when zooming while recording video. Wondered if this was app or hardware...
hmm i tried on a friend's Transformer (not prime)
Their video recording is seemless.. the moment i click the stop recording button. the recording stops instantly and no hanging or anything..
i'm wondering if it has anything to do with our multiple updates..
I do remember multiple reports of the Prime's very poor disk performance. It scored very low on multiple benchmarks.
Update on this. i sent my Prime to ASus service center. Reported this pproblem + another dock problem. Will update once i get my prime back
Update on this. I just got my prime back. They did a excellent job. Completely fixed now. Video recording is fluid. Even recording for 20sec / 40 sec / 1 min, it stops immediately. I guess just a re-fresh would have solved the problem but since i had another dock problem which they'll need to fix, they fixed this at the same time.
Hello everyone.
I can only record video for 10 minutes and then phone automatically stops recording.
10 minutes limit is on FHD (1920x1080) 60fps option, if i turn to FHD but 30fps there is 25 minutes, but it's still not enough.
My card is formated in exFat, so 4GB problem doesn't exist.
Does anybody can make mod to camera apk to bypass this limit?
Chris
Same problem I noticed here. I'm trying to record road trips and that time limit surely doesn't help at all!
I'm saddened to see not a single reply yet.
I assume using some different camera apps could override that limit. Haven't tried though so can't confirm. Although I actually want to use the stock camera and prefer it over any other camera app.
Hoping to find a solution for this...
I've been searching the internet and this forum for a couple days now, as well as messing around with my v10. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to lower the resolution. I want to lower the res so that I can send videos via text. Does anyone know how to do this? Seems like it should be easier than this. Am I missing something???

From my experience and I ran a quick test just now, if you use the native camera app, go into manual video mode and choose settings, then lower your bitrate to L, resolution to the lowest, and fps to 24. When on those setting a 23 second video came out at 18.52 megs. When I had bitrate set to medium, resolution at the same (lowest), and fps at 30, a similar 23 sec video was 34.20 megs. Almost double. Now I realize that both sizes are still going to be compressed to hell sending through a text/messaging app so you could also try recording and sending a video through included functions of whatever app you use.
Hi,
Since I bought GT 2 PRO global version (RMX3301) 2 months ago, I have an issue with sending videos (recorded from the main camera) as videos playback get choppy after being processed by whatsapp.
latest updates did not solve the issue.
However, if I record and send videos directly from whatsapp, the playback is smooth.
Anyone faces the same problem? Any fixes?
Exact same issue here, have been trying every different setting etc and nothing working.
Same here. Gdpr version
Sorry, I posted a fix I thought works but doesn't ...
If you change video options to 4k, 30-60 fps, it´s must work for you.
Is better ,but no, not working
Same problem
try turning of hevc (h265) video in setting, alternatively cut the video shorter using the editor and use the new video
same problem here. Just found out the culprit. if you download the video to computer and try to read the FPS, it always using weird number, like 28.97, 29.41, 29,33 fps. I guess that what really make whatsapp compression failed, it tried to upscale the frame rate to 30 fps but because the FPS never have constant rate, the output get choppy.
I tried using Gcam, and works perfectly, because Gcam always produce 30 fps video.
Realme should fix this bug
To solve this inconvenience (it happens in several mobiles that are not Samsung and Iphone), you must use the "VenLow" application (I suggest downloading the premium app from google) and that's it, the same application indicates how to use it and you can also watch videos on youtube. Greetings People from Chile.
Just noticed that problem was solved already
