[HELP] MT: Firmware Update Finder and its usage... - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hey, everyone, I just got the new P20 Lite running EMUI 8.0 and on the June security patch. Been through MT's Firmware Finder before with the Huawei Mate 9 Lite; however, I have seen that the app isn't working well with Huawei's servers at the moment - via the screenshot below.
How can I update my phone (model: ANE-LX3C605) to the latest security update (August) using the app - because, I can't seem to receive the OTA Update?

Here's the latest screenshot detailing the problem.

The latest version ANE-LX3C605 is not yet approved
You have to wait for the Full-PV so you can try that update :good:

Okay, thank you, King - but, how do I actually update it? It appears to me that Firmware Finder is broken.

Yeah, but I would need to rebrand wouldn't I? I am not rooted and don't plan on doing so, my friend.

instead use HurUpdate 0.4, its better than HwOTA8. HwOTA is quite buggy and broken. With HurUpdater, you dont need to rebrand your phone, however you should download the files which are actually meant for your device as per current ROM installed. Only difficult is that, you have to unlock your device which may result in data wipe, but you can always take a backup and recover. You also need to install twrp (I recommend Pretorian8 twrp). Rooting is not required for that.

Since Huawei doesn't give out unlock codes any longer for the bootloader, what's the best way to unlock my bootloader? Also, if I can unlock my bootloader, could you please also give me the link to HurUpdate?

For the time being, unlocking bootloader might cost around 5-15 Euros via DC unlocker. Click here for the detailed guide.
As the user states, you can try your luck to unlock your bootloader for free by mailing huawei care. I dont know how many had success by mailing though, but many succeeded by using DC unlocker.
Now after you unlock your bootloader, you can try using HurUpdater with detailed guide and download link.

Yeah, I'm not gonna pay 5-15 euros to unlock my bootloader... I tried emailing Huawei and they don't give any unlock codes whatsoever. Looks like I might have to wait patiently.

I have the same problem as you, with my p20 lite ane lx3c605, i´ve allready downloaded the last version from FF the b147, but the stock recovery doesn´t istall it, it stays in 5% then says error while updating, it seems the only way to have an updated huawei phone is paying for the code to unlock the bootloader, with my p10 didn´t have that problem because the official unloking code page was still working a few months ago.

Quick question about Rebranding

Hi all,
I am looking to pick up a Mate 10. The one that the seller has is L00 version so I suspect i'll need to flash it to L29 C636 for my use in Canada. I am new to flashing Huawei, was wondering if I HAVE to use FunkyHuawei or I can unlock the bootloader and use another method?
If I am not mistaken, Funky just lets you flash without unlocking bootloader, whereas the other method is free but will need to unlock bootloader. Am I correct?

Yes, with FunkyHuawei you don't need to unlock the bootloader, and can also be used to convert from mono-sim to dual sim.
For the free method, yes, you need to unlock the bootloader before rebranding.

Upgrading Huawei mate 10 lite to android 8.0

Hello everyone.I wanted to update my new Mate 10 lite to android 8.0 with the custo installation method that requires unlocking bootloader that i found on internet, but i realized that using it will break my warranty and i dont want that. Will it be available throught normal System update later on,or is this the only way? Thank you.
i have the same quastion. but the update will come soon i am waiting for it because its a very big one face unlock...
I'm sure it's coming through OTA in a few weeks, don't risk your warranty on it, I'd rather wait and avoid any hassles with the bootloader and rooting.

Hi there
I'm sorry man, we simply can't, it's a security measurement from Huawei. Unless you use Funky Huawei which it might work but I never tried it since it's paid.

It's quite sad yeah
I was only able to get a code because I bought a phone right on the release date and some months later they don't give them anymore :/
When we buy a phone we have multiple things to search first
Well if you can still get a refund, I would XD

Same for me,,you must downgrade the version of your phone,,,i downloaded the stock rom from this site https://androidhost.ru/search.html,,,i had download 135 C432 Version and follow this steps
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77706448&postcount=14
For me i used the forcable method,,and flash my phone with dload method,,,,and it's working for me,,,bootloader unlocker with HCU
I think I know why Huawei blocked/stopped the bootloader unlocking services
1. They want to make their devices not able to install official Android
2. They don't want customer to install custom ROM on their devices
3. They don't want customer to install GApps onto their banned devices
Yea, it will effect every huawei device now, I am sad
Me too
I will never buy any ****y huawei
Lost my data
after charge and reboot it did factory reset by self

Depending on what you want to do with the unlocked bootloader.
I´ve just unrooted my phone and re-locked the bootloader. My banking apps couldn´t be used with a locked bootloader and root.
I am satisfied with EMUI and have no need to use custom roms.
I have deleted my bloatware with this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-10/how-to/guide-removing-apps-bootloader-unlock-t3855067
And DNS66 seems to work just as fine as Adaway.

Mate 10 pro - Can I downgrade to an older FW

I have a BLA-L09 (9.0.0.197 C432E$R1P11), my question is it possible to downgrade the Build to allow me to then use DC Unlocker or another to then unlock the bootloader?
I have seen conflicting information on here as to whether it is possible or not.
Many Thanks
No.

It is not just downgrade about. Read the post very carefully. He needs a particular version to unlock the bootloader by DC.

Once you've downgraded to 8.x bootloader unlocking is available, if dcunlocker does not support the FW other services are available, the issue with 9.x FW is bootloader unlock/lock commands are removed.

This is Mate 10 pro. You can unlock the bootloader today with DC if you have firmware lower than v. 145 ( C432.). In OP case he can downgrade to v. 157 (xloader 02) but can not downgrade to v. 145 ( xloader 01). If he try to downgrade from xloader 02 to 01 he will brick the phone.
If you have a good solution I will be happy to see it and I will thank you.
Otherwise please stop providing wrong or unverified solutions.
Just FYI Mate 10 Pro has been released with Android 8.

I want to relock mine mate 10.
My model is ALP-L29
software version : 9.1.0.321(C636E5R1P13).
I used Hisuite to downgrade to basic emui 9.0.
Where do i get the stock fw for emui 9.1 C636?
