Hey Guys. Sorry for my ignorance on the subject and haven't really found an answer yet, but I've been noticing all custom roms are for Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus? Does that mean, they're compatible with the Redmi 5 Plus? Or are they referring to Note 5 and Note 5 Plus? Thanks!
There is no Redmi Note 5 plus. Redmi note 5 is called Redmi 5 plus in China.
Redmi 5 Plus is called as Redmi Note 5(SD 625) in INDIA....
REDMI NOTE 5(SD 636) is Called as Redmi Note 5 Pro in India....

The best way to avoid confusion , ‘Vince' stands for Redmi note 5(india) and whyred for Redmi note 5 pro(India).

This forum is for the Redmi Note 5 (In India)/ 5 Plus with the codename Vince, both of which have a single camera setup. I assume you are talking about the Redmi Note 5 (International)/ Pro with the codename "Whyred" which has the dual camera setup. If you are talking about the latter, then head to the forums foe the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
How can we know which version we have?

Hey guys im looking to upgrade my Redmi Note 4. So im torn between RN5 and Mi A1. I like the screen of Note 5 but I also like the A1 dual camera :/ . Besides bigger screen RN5 is not much of an upgrade... So i guess I just need second opinions
Mi A2 gonna launch in few days. I think you should wait for that
RN5 cameras are far better than A1's. Look at some reviews on YouTube. I would go Rn5, no doubts
Instead go for RN5 pro.
Combo of both bigger display and camera...
RN5Pro , definitely good development and best redmi.

I think redmi s2 is just another redmi note 4 with different design, nothing is upgraded except dual camera bs
You could just stay with redmi note 4 . IMHO nothing wrong with it.
I myself just bought a redmi note 4 a week ago. I had the option of redmi note 5 pro, but I decided that 4 is better for my needs. 16:9 aspect ratio (yeah I don't like the 18:9 trend), physical navigation buttons, and camera that doesn't stick out of the phone are somethings that note 4 has and note 5 does not.

If you are talking about the two phones variant then yes they are the same
