Encryption and recovery steps for EMUI 8 firmware
Due to the changes of Encryption in Pie, encryption is now broken in TWRP. Unofficial TWRP will not boot with Pie roms installed.
Official recovery should work fine.
For Unofficial recoveries, wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache and flash the rom zip. For Gapps you can use BitGapps (Search on XDA) and follow those installation instructions. If you want to go back to an Oreo rom, the steps i use are flashing a GSI in fastboot and attempt to reboot into the 8.1 GSI, if it reboots, quickly hold Vol Up/Dwn while connected to PC and it'll boot into unofficial TWRP where you then perform the usual wipes and flash an 8.1 rom zip.
For Offiicial TWRP users, you must wipe /data in stock recovery and wipe everything else in TWRP, then adb sideload the zip file and gapps

Builds for EMUI 9 firmware
These builds require EMUI 9 firmware to install
Instructions
- Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache (Data will not really wipe but continue) in compatible recovery (I used the unofficial TWRP)
- Install rom (& gapps) (I used adb sideload)
- Reboot to bootloader (Ignore the "No OS" message if it shows)
- Flash stock recovery and wipe Data
- Reboot
These builds do not include a custom kernel

Great ROM so far, but I can't select ringtones in audio settings, is it only an issue for me?
Still need a working TWRP, as the official one crashes and reboots ater 5 seconds on my BKL-L04.
Update: fixed myself, a gapps package caused to uninstall it.
I wonder if the hot issues have been fixed.

Oh, okie, thanks. I dislike asking for an ETA (and most likely you won't be able to give one), but I kinda need internal storage to function and since I can't really make proper backups with TWRP switching to another ROM and switching back is rather much effort, so I'd like to avoid that

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.0 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

You have to FORMAT data after you flash recovery to decrypt the data. Stock rom has forced encryption that's why this issue is there.

Wipe wont work. Don't even open advanced options. There will be a format data option right beside the advanced options button, click that and type yes. After that reboot to recovery, flash magisk or no verity opt zip. Then you're good to go.
I am just curious what kernel you're using here, and whether it has the patches required to make Magisk hide work...?
Yeah I can't get this to flash, I've tried formatting and whatevering /data and flashing this and it just reboots into TWRP, and if I dont do it I get hit with the decryption prompt.
Whenever I try to Format data it shows "Unable to mount data".
Guys since it's obvious none of you can see the "Format Userdata" button in TWRP, just run the command
Code:
fastboot format userdata
and don't boot into the ROM, boot into TWRP directly. You may need to reboot into TWRP a second time.
Please keep in mind this WILL wipe all downloads, pictures, videos, etc.
Amazing Work @vache.

Thanks for the rom, but how to install it if twrp unofficial has many bugs and it's impossible to decrypt and see the internal storage, and if other twrp of Pretoriano works only with Emui stock rom?
U can use adb sideload with official TWRP, encryption isn't the problem after installing.

Able to use Huawei's super charge?
Just tried to install this multiple times. Each time I wiped dalvik/cache/data/system. I used opengapps and tried mini, micro, nano, and pico.
The error I got each time was:
Insufficient storage space available in System partition. You may want to use a smaller Open GApps package...........
Error Code: 70.
Note that I have installed pretty much every rom available to this phone, usually using full or mini gapps and haven't run into this problem before.

People can do it in TWRP as workaround:
Flash the ROM zip
Go to wipe -> advanced wipe, select system and make Resize and Repair file system
Mount /system and type in TWRP Terminal "ln -sf /system /system/system"
Flash GApps zip
Fantastic work on Omni! Thanks for your work so far bringing it to the View10. Enjoying the customizations.
I can confirm the below fixes flashing gapps.

Hey Chris
Do you have any news for us? Besides the BL lock situation, is the Honor Open Source thing officially dead?
Can this ROM be used on Mate10
Or the Honor 10 (ie. not View 10)?
I flashed this rom and I like the look and configurability. But it hates my nearly new 128g sandisk sdcard. I use gonemad and poweramp as music apps and they will not detect the sdcard when they scan for music. I had to move the folder to internal storage. And when I look at the sdcard with solid explorer, I can see the spinning wait circle when I change folders. That shouldn't happen with this phone and this card, It doesn't with stock or any other rom. I don't know what the problem is.
Anyone tried playing a x265 10 bit video on this ROM? does it work?

Seems to be a problem
There seems to be a problem with phone setting up. After going through the setup wizard it just loops into " Phone Setting up" and stays there, with no progress. And also there seems to be no keyboard installed by default so cant do anything.

I have updated my Vendor and Firmware partition using the Flashable ZIP provided by @riteshsaxena in his CarbonRom thread before posting the problem here.
Flashed it, asking for password for starting. Already flashed forced decryption, flashed again after same issue. Still not booting.
You might lose data on internal storage

You can go into TWRP and in there WIPE, then go for advance Options. There select Data and repair the Partition. When you click that you will see 3 options probably just above the swipe to confirm thingy. Just click on Change partition. Change it to FAT or xFAT , when that is done just go back to EXT4 doing the same process I explained above. But remember you will lose data in internal storage as it is being wiped clean.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

That issue still remains bro. Wiping data and cache not helping.
Thank you
Updated from lineage-16.0-20191007-nightly-land-signed to lineage-16.0-20191009-nightly-land-signed via built in updater and now I device bootloops.
It stays on boot logo for some time and then reboots back to TWRP with RescueParty console message.
Using twrp-3.3.1-1-land
lineage-16.0-20191009-nightly-land-signed does not work with open_gapps-arm64-9.0-pico-20191010
- eternal reboot in twrp. Without gapps, everything is fine.
before, los 15.1 and viperos 6.7 worked fine with gapps pico.

can i dirty flash from aosp android 11?
Hello,
I have flashed and everything works, but if I reboot to TWRP I can't decrypt data.
I tried two TWRP versions:
- twrp-CFW-3.3.1-0-begonia_UNOFFICIAL_0506
- twrp-CFW-3.4.0-2-begonia_UNOFFICIAL_0707
Both of them don't work and I can't decrypt data.
What I am doing wrong?

Visit Megathread and download versions from there. I'm using TWRP-3.3.1, disable any security (password, fingerprint, etc) before installing recovery

I have reflashed the MIUI 12 with Mi Flash tool.
Then I followed megathread instructions and flashed PixysOS, but same problem. Can't decrypt. For me, it's not a big problem, cause it's enough to disable pin and I can enter TWRP correctly, but I am just curious how I can solve this problem.

See if you followed megathread correctly:
1 - lk, lk2, preloader
2 - vbmeta then twrp
3 - wipes, cfw, rom
4 - format data (!!!)
5 - cfw recovery
i followed these steps and worked
Theres a problem with night light and i know this is a known issue but to me this is a really usefull thing and it seems to be a problem in every A11 rom. So i just want to know or there is any progress in this? I am not askjng for ETA.

No, no progress was done to get this feature correctly working as far as i know.
I found a good workaround, even i reported it several times to some developers of rn8p in telegram. Change your GPU governor from default 'coarse_demand' to 'always_on' with a kernel manager, the only bad thing about this is that you must re-set this after a reboot (i don't know the reason of it), pros are: it has Zero impact on battery life and performance, unlike the old workaround (enable hw overlays).
I have problem with audio jack 3.5, the system did not recognize them.
