I have samsung galaxy j4 2018. As I know that It does not support OTG.. but when installed some apps like OTG HOST CHECKER it says OTG compatible. And also when I insert OTG in the phone the screen pops up but no usb detections.. Is there any way to use OTG on Samsung Galaxy J4....???

Did you succeed to root it. If not rooted it would not be possible to enable OTG through editing build.prop file.

I have a rooted galaxy grand quattro with stock rom and I used this usb otg checker app and it says my phone is otg compatible I hav attached the screenshot of it and details of my phone thanks in advance
for what I know, our SoC is OTG capable, but the functionality is not actually implemented in the Kernel.... If you can, and have a way to, get a USB OTG cable and try to connect a pendrive or a mouse to your phone, if possible, also take a logcat and a dmesg while you connect the devices.
Actually to use usb otg in our device a new kernel is being made...once it is complete you can use usb otg but untill then no luck...
Sent from my GT-I8552 using XDA Free mobile app
So I tried using OTG devices with the Blackview Ultra with both the stock rom and CyanogenMod 12.1 installed but it just doesn't work. I have tried multiple USB OTG cables and none have worked, I know it is not the cable because it works fine with my friends phone. I have also run USB Host Diagnostics on the phone and it says that the OS supports OTG but simply no device is detected.
The bizarre thing is that the Ultra itself claims OTG support. It even comes with an OTG cable included in the box!
So if anyone could give me some insight on this it would be greatly appreciated. I really want to see some USB devices working with my phone. Thank you!
Bump
Anyone?
I've tried everything I've seen, from disconnecting Internet to SideSync, but none of them are working. I don't have an OTG cable, but I'd rather not buy one if I can avoid it, any suggestions?
Hi, i'm using Alcatel 1 - 5033e with Lineage OS 17.1 and it doesn't support OTG Mode -
Anyone has this same model?
Do you have OTG enabled?
If you want to help make a list of Alcatel phones that support OTG mode;
(You have another Alcatel 1 model).
and you've tried the OTG mode please report here your success or fail.
That way we may know what Alcatel phones support the OTG for future purchases.
(Sometimes the Box or Phone characteristic sheet will not specify if it supports OTG mode)
If you want you can use an APK to check if it supports the OTG.
