Does the device has an double tap to wake feature?
Supposedly yes from the reviews. Just no "always on display".

Thanks a lot. Nice
Sorry to bring this up again but it doesn't work on my F1, it ask for permission which I'd already set in settings as per the picture already posted. I use smart launcher and that has double tap off and that doesn't work either.
It has worked for about a day with the smart launcher setting but goes back to "this device requires to enable accessibility services etc." this had already been done but doesn't work.
Is there a fix for this as the double tap is really useful but not working properly due to permissions on the f1.

Just some info for everyone that is wondering, not sure if this has been covered yet, I looked and it seems that it hasn't been mentioned.
This is a very easy way to get customized knock-off (double-tap to turn off screen) working on any non-stock ROM where knock-off might not be included.
1. Download GMD Gesture Control from the market. You should probably use the paid version since the free version doesn't support custom gestures. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontrol&hl=en
2. Download the Screen Off app (free). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en
3. Open up GMD and turn off any gestures you don't want that are included with the app.
4. Click on User Gestures up top, and then click path.
5. Under "Gesture Path", type in "T-T"
6. Click under action, select "application" and select "Screen Off" (the one that you just downloaded).
7. Click "Save" at the bottom, and bam. Double-tap goes to screen off.
**NOTE** I changed the starting zone (in the Create Gesture window) to only recognize double-taps on my status bar region, because often I would shut my screen off without meaning to.
Sorry, if this is a repost, I just spent a long hour pulling my hair out trying to get this to work with Nova launcher (wanted my double-tap to work anywhere in my ROM), and was super stoked when I figured this out.
Great idea I wonder why I haven't thought about this before
Thank you. I tried to spread the word on this method when CM was first released for the G2. My only difference is I use Secure Settings
Edit: just realized you missed another obvious bit
If you use Nova or Apex you can set a double tap gesture to turn off the screen the same way. Suddenly you have the same functionality as LG included

Ah good idea. Then you can have an easier time turning the screen off when you're in your launcher. Good stuff.

How can you do the screen off? I stopped using Nova because I could no longer turn off the screen, there is no turn screen of under gesture settings.

Hi,
It works with Nova, you need to double-tap in the notification bar area (but only here), nothing to set in Nova it works just like that...
How about screen on?

You are correct, there isn't a screen off option. However, you can set the double tap gesture to open a SHORTCUT that will turn the screen off.
I'm assuming the app OP linked to allows you to set a shortcut for screen off. If not, Secure Settings for sure does (it's what I use).
Here's proof that it works
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvesNzvgKDQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
That video uses OP's GMD Gesture control trick and Nova Launcher's double tap gesture. Only difference is I'm using secure settings instead of the screen off app
Ok, for those who want to use screen off with Nova or CM do this.
Download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en
in Nova Settings go to gesture and Buttons/ Double tap/ and select Screen off, Simple as that. GL
I was just curious if there is a way to set the action for when I double tap the screen. Maybe I missed it in the settings somewhere. I have an LG phone and use double tap to wake and put my phone to sleep. With Themer it just opens the settings dialog.

I found the setting but cant seem to find a system default setting. Knock on and off is one of the LG G2's best features. It would be nice if it could be used with Themer. Could it be considered for a future release?
Other than that great app.

Try knocking the status bar if you have that enabled. It should work.

Get a custom launcher.
I use Lightning Launcher Pro (but almost all custom launchers have this function). What I even do is to link the double-tap function of the custom launcher to the "sleep+hibernate" shortcut of Greenfy so now when double tapping on the screen (everywhere) it puts the display to sleep and greenifies - win win.

Nice. Action Launcher 3 can do this too in the Shortcuts menu. Hibernate+Lock Screen is a win win for sure.

It works in Nova too..
Go to nova settings > gestures > double tap > slide the list to right you'll find activities > go down the list and find greenify > click on hibernate + sleep
and you're done... B)

Does anybody know a way to enable double tape to wake/sleep?
Instead of double tap, long press on the bottom of the screen where the home button would be if the screen were on. There's no built-in double tap to sleep, but some third party launchers (like Nova) have implemented a work around. But it only works on the home screen.
The home button method is lmag, but still not great. It's nice to be able to just tap any part of the display and for it to wake up. That's one thing the iPhone definitely got right this time around compared to S9+

IT would be a nice feature to have, I use it all the time on my LG

the rating speaks for itself :crying:
Implementing this feature will probably add battery drain as some sensors need to be active all the time also a custom kernel could implement it. Wait and see

It can be an option.
The S9's "always on" home button requires a sensor to be on all the time, too. But the SD 845 has a very low power mode to support these sorts of things. I don't think double tap to wake would use any more power than Samsung's approach. But I'm happy with Samsung's approach, but I wouldn't mind a double tap to sleep, like my old G3 had.
ElementalX has double-tap to wake.

Well, sort of. One, it doesn't really put the phone to sleep instantly. What it does is reset the screen timeout to a very short value, so the screen goes black. Then, after the phone really goes to sleep, it resets the screen timeout in the background. Two, you can only do it from a Nova home screen. In LG's implementation, you could tap on the status bar on any screen to put the phone to sleep. (Or maybe it was the Nav bar. It's been a long time since I had my G3.)

Yeah you are correct on both. LGs way is anywhere half way down the lock screen could be double tapped to go to sleep. That's what I'm looking for. Just grabbed the s9 and I miss the dttS on the ls. The double tap on home button isn't too bad I suppose but still also miss the full screen dttW from LG.
if you have the home button showing on always on display you can double tap it to wake(instead of pressing it hard) just double tap it
If you use Nova Launcher you can use the double tap to turn off gesture.

Thanks... sometimes a long press takes a little while to work; double-tap seems instant!
This douple tap feature was available but it stopped 2 days ago. I don't know why or how to set it again.
You probably know what I mean:
- Ambient screen makes the device wake up when you pick it up.
- Double tap to wake makes it wake up when you, well, double tap the screen.
Those two features are a must for me, so could you tell me if this tablet has them?
Thanks!
Double tap works for me. Have no idea about the first one.

No, it doesnt. Double tap to wake also wasn't enabled by default. But I don't know whether you can enable this 'ambient screen' function or it doesn't exist here.
