The flashable zip contains SnapdragonCamera.apk and needed libs. Both - the apk and the libs have to reside inside system, so the only way to install this system app is either flashing this zip, or to unpack the zip, remount /system rw (root required), copy the files by hand (root and writeble /system required), fix fs permissions (root and writeble /system required), remount /system ro (root required) and reboot.
I'm no photographer, so judging the pic quality and checking all that settings is up to you. Taking pictures, taking panorama shots, 4k video w/o and 1080p with stabilization is tested and working on oos4; since the codebase is M I'm pretty sure it's working on oos3 as well.
If you like to use a Magisk module instead of this flashable zip, you'll find it https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/themes/magisk-magisk-modules-oneplus-3t-t3548446 (many thanx to @Spasticdroid)
The version string I include in the filenames, refers to caf versions, not to android version, nor oos version: https://wiki.codeaurora.org/xwiki/bin/QAEP/release. At the moment I build inside oss source tree (see url at the end of the posting) - which is ahead with oos-3.5.4, guessing frommthe commits.
I consider you are on oos3 or oos4 and twrp is installed and working.
Installation:
boot to twrp
flash SnapdragonCamera[version].zip
reboot to system
go to Settings->Apps and find SnapdragonCamera
go to permissions and allow (at least) camera, storage and mic (I don't want to location tag my pics, so I leave location disabled; I'dont know why SnapdragonCamera wants to read my contacts, so I leave this disabled as well - for both YMMV)
Uninstall:
boot to twrp
flash uninstall-SnapdragonCamera[version].zip
reboot to system
IMPORTANT: the uninstall-SnapdragonCamera-[version].zip has to match EXACTLY! the version of the zip you have installed before, since different versions carry different files!
Source code and license:
https://source.codeaurora.org/quic/la/platform/packages/apps/SnapdragonCamera/
https://github.com/OnePlusOSS
Happy flashing!
Note: The old SnapdragonCamera-OSS.zip is exactly the same as SnapdragonCamera-LA.HB.1.3.2-27300-8x96.0.zip! I've decided to put the caf version string in the filename, to match the uninstall names, because different versions seems to need different libs.
Really nice job man! I will test this when my phone comes in! Thanks for the share and your work put into this!
It's working on 3.5.4, thanks! Only one problem I noticed: the continuous shot doesn't work, when I press the shutter button longer, the app quits. And it feels so bad seeing the 240hfr function, when the camera sensor doesn't support it
Doesn't work in 4.0.1. Thanks anyway.

it is working. you have to give the right app permissions (camera, storage) then it will work. without the permissions it will fc.
Got really excited when I saw 240fps recording only to get "not supported for selected resolution" (even in 480p)... This phone is 100% capable of recording 240fps why won't oneplus add this in...
I'm no video or photo profi, so let me ask some noob question just to better understand this topic:
1080p is standrad 1920x1080 pixels at 50 fps non interlaced, isn't it? hfr240 (supported by our hardware/blobs or not doesnt matter for my question) means a high frame rate of 240fps, doesn't it? If the selected standard defines 50fps, but you request 240fps; isn't the error message "hfr is not supported on selected mode" absolutly true? The error is that hfr is selectable at all for *p standard modes, isn't it?
If this is very stupid, please be patient - I'm one of these guys using the mobile as camera really rarely, and when I use it,mI draw a circle, point at my object and tab... ...call me "fire and forget"-photographer...
So, it will only work on oos and not on cm, lineage etc?
ye would be interesting if it works on 7.1 lineageos?
@nvertigo67 would you mind sharing your build? I'm interested to check it out
Thanks

Again: I don't now. I havn't started building lo-14.1, since I wait till oneplus has published oss4 keenelsources, to use N blobs. I hate shimmingm- but that's my personal problem.
But: just test it. if it doesn't work or you don't like it, just dirty flash the same lo version and you are done.
I have ask in @koenkk's lomthread to give it amtry, but havn't received (or not seen) any feedback. I guess it should work as good or as bad as on oos.

Sadly I have no oos build - what I have done is building oss. I used plain source. I only changed fstab to include f2fs for data, and increased dmesg size in the kernel sources. The build is boring - really. But if you really, really want it, I'll upload it (1Mbit uplink; 15€ for 3GB; build is 450MB). Don't want to offend you, with asking, just want to be sure.

Since android runs all apps in fullscreen mode (if not rum in multi win mode), I'm guessing you are talkking about preview view: preview shows you the picture you will get, if taking the pic/video. If you go for 16MP, you have selected a mode with 4:3 aspect ratio. If you want to show 4:3 on a 16:9 screen, you have black borders - if you need a preview wirhout borders, select a mode, that has 16:9 aspect ratio.

Hi,
As from my check in 247 version ROM, the build.prop already has the line persist.camera.hal3.enabled=0.
If you have rooted, you only need to change the 0 to 1 >> persist.camera.hal3.enabled=1
Or if you don't want to modify the build.prop, you can just create the value at the /data partition using terminal emulator (with root access), this leaves the /system intact.
Code:
su
setprop persist.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
The downside is everytime you factory reset, you have to set the value again.

Hi All !
Some of us do know the application a long time but others don't. Therefore this small GUIDE.
Removing system apps without root/unlocked can be done in a few ways like :
manually : with an ADB list and described HERE huge thnx @SirTAVARES
automatic : if you don't like to do it manually, you can use the ADB/Fastboot Tool which will do the job for you.
The XiaomiADBFastbootTools isn't explained in depth afaik and can do a lot more but I'll focus on the removal of those system apps.
HOW TO :
NOTE : do try some apps (not all at once) and see if the phone boots again - if you would have a problem you can always restore the onces you removed or perform a factory reset to restore all apps (as they are not really gone )
0. enable developer options to enable USB debugging ( go to settings/about phone/tap MIUI version 7 times to enable dev. options -> then go to settings/additional settings/ dev. options/enable USB debugging )
1. download the latest version HERE
2. run the .jar application
3. you'll get this screen
As you can see, the tool will start by default in ADB. You'll see a bunch of apps you could de-install under the Uninstaller tab.
If you're sure which apps you want to de-install just check the ones you want and tab UNINSTALL
google where is the nearest gas station
TIP : try one first like Google Chrome f.e. and see if it works
EXAMPLE : Removal of Google Chrome :
Once removed you can check if the app is gone of your home screen apps or under settings/installed apps/tap the 3-dot sign to show all apps/ search for ''chrome'' and the app should be removed.
4. if you want the removed app(s) back, just tap the Reinstaller and check the ones you want to re-install. Easy right !
Once re-installed your Chrome app will appear again on your home screen/app list
5. TIP : before removing, check the app name under settings/installed apps/show all apps/tap on an app and tap the Ⓘ to get the app info
Other functions :
1. As you probably noticed besides running in ADB, this tool can easily boot into Fastboot, Recovery, System or EDL.
When booting into Fastboot you can see some other functions you can apply. Be aware of the risks applying things under fastboot !
2. Very useful option is the possibility to push, pull ,... apps/folders with FILE EXPLORER. Just tap OPEN and you can easily perform some actions afterwards.
(ignore the KB sizes - once pulled you'll get the right folder/apks )
E N J O Y

Lets go from begining:
- First thing that I did, I uninstalled all versions of Java;
- Second, (I made this way, you can jump this step) - reboot my laptop;
- Third, I installed the latest version (in this moment is version 8, update 221) - I installed both 32 bits (x86) and 64 bits (x64);
- Fourth, run the tool (just download .JAR version) and clicked with right botton for open with Java.
When I right click nothing asks to open it in java
If you have java installed, then just a double click on the XiaomiADBFastbootTools-6.5.1.jar is enough.

A lot of people have complained about stuttering in between App switching and gaming. This guide helps you disable Dynamic refresh rate through MagiskHide Prop Config, which is easier than setting it manually and safer to disable if it doesn't work.
Disclaimer: Disabling Dfps (Dynamic refresh rate) will degrade battery life with prolonged use. According to my personal testing, battery life (SOT) decreased by 10-18% on average. Only use for short periods of time.

Requirements:
- Unlocked and rooted with Magisk v21.0.
- busybox-ndk.
- MagiskHide Prop Config installed (used often to pass safetynet CTS but can be used to set custom Props).
Instructions:
1- Run SU in your terminal of choosing.
2- Run props.
3- choose option 5 "Add/edit custom props".
4- choose n "New custom prop".
5- type in:
Code:
ro.vendor.dfps.enable
6- Default value should be true, type in false to disable.
7- choose 2 "post-fs-data".
8- choose n, don't reboot yet.
9- choose n again to set another prop.
10- type in:
Code:
ro.vendor.smart_dfps.enable
11- Default value should be true, type in false to disable.
12- choose 2 "post-fs-data".
13- Reboot.
Only tested on stock MIUI. Try at your own risk!
It works on MIUI eu 12.0.3.0.
No stuttering anymore !
Thanks man !

NOPE. It doesn't mess with L1 certification or any for that matter. This is a systemless "vendor" modification not "persist", and as such very easily uninstallable. See attached screenshots.
Also the payoff/difference is huge if you're a power user. Try consistent 120Hz vs. stuttering 120Hz (sometimes drops to 30Hz) and you will notice immediately.

I've tried all the custom ROMs available for our device and recommend stock for now. Since all of them are based on stock kernel anyway, they're all MIUI ROMs in my opinion, but you can't blame devs for choosing to patch Stock MIUI when we don't even have Device sources released. TWRP for the same reason, Dynamic partitions are scary.

As far as i know, refresh rate is handeled by an Activity:
Code:
com.xiaomi.misettings/.display.RefreshRate.RefreshRateActivity
which handels Dfps. In turn Dfps handels the frequencies in between 30Hz-120Hz depending on the process(Activity) on the forground.
I can't use my pc for a week atleast (broken from tinkering too much) to find a workaround, but good news! Theoretically, this guide should also work in custom roms with 90Hz option in settings app. Try it on a custom ROM and share your experience with us. [at your own risk ofc]
Thanks for taking your time to answer sir

Yes. Setting 60Hz in the Settings app will set it to a constant 60Hz, conversely setting it to 120Hz will set it to a constant 120Hz as well.

This is a fairly famous problem with Magisk Manger hiding and SELinux enforcing, but easily solvable. Do the following:
1- Go to Play store and turnoff Play Protect scanning (interferes with magisk manager repackiging itself aka Hiding).
2- Force stop Manager.
3- Open Manager again and choose another name and apply.
4- Profit.
If this still doesn't work, try this:
5- Go back to step 2 and then open terminal.
6- Type SU.
7- then set SELinux to permissive by inputting:
Code:
setenforce 0
8- continue with step 3
9- then set SELinux back to enforcing by inputting in terminal:
Code:
setenforce 1
10- Done
Man... Worked Flawlessly... Never had that issue on AOSP roms.
Thanks ! no need to turn on/off selinux enforcement.
But , really, thanks for your attention and detail , I'm impressed Sr

New settings should've been applied successfully after reboot and the config file will delete itself.

Can you provide me the following?:
1- MIUI vers. (i.e 12.0.3.0 QJGEUXM)
2- Go to terminal a run su and then:
Code:
getprop ro.vendor.smart_dfps.enable
-Output should be false, if it's true, then you didn't set it right.
I think a lot of people mix up framerate and refresh rate. Just an FYI, the thing that should be of interest is the refresh mode in power monitor. Check these screenshots, the circled value should stay at 120Hz consistently. Another screenshot I provided below without this mod shows 60Hz encircled when device not touched(which we don't want). The value on the right side of it (also in screenshots) is the framerate provided from the app (process) and indicates the actual frames displayed on the screen, if the screen isn't changing or moving, then there is nothing to display 120 frames about and will drop to 1 fps, which is completely normal.
Finally i found a method to record call on realme gt 2 pro global gdpr version, who is persistent at boot. No root, no bootloader unlock.
Step one : install setedit from play store and add op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc with 1 value to global settings. You have to give Setedit write secure rights with adb
Step two : install phone apk below.
That's it. Start Google dialer and make a call. Still works after reboot.
Not working : automatic call recorder, you have to press record button when you're in call.
Notice: if you don't see record button in Google dialer , is normal, just press back button to see realme dialer.
This should work on all color os 3 device.
Recorded call are in internal memory / music/ recordings/ call recordings folder.
ENJOY !!
No working... No see
Which apk needs to be installed for step two?
NVM I figured it out

By default, for your protection, Android prevents you from modifying the SECURE and GLOBAL tables. If you have Android Jellybean or later, you can remove this protection from an ADB shell using the command "pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS". On earlier versions, you can only remove this protection on a rooted device by installing SetEdit to the system partition.
