It won't work. Desktop mode needs USB C 3.1. The p20 lite only has USB C 2.0. USB C 2.0 does not include display signal
Ooooh ok, I didn't know. Always assumed USB-C requires at least 3.0, interesting.
Thanks for the info!

I believe that USB OTG's architecture requires integration on a hardware level. Most USB devices don't have this capability, nor are they flashable to support it. It would be nice to have USB OTG functionality on all mobile device, though.
Seagate just announced their GoFlex Satellite WiFi streaming portable hard drive. Looks pretty slick and may be a good alternative to not having USB OTG. Check it out:

Usb otg
No...you are wrong.it is possible to get usb otg support to your x10.read this forum and do steps as it says.your x10 will also support otg devices....

Anyone else unable to get the Galaxy Note to connect to a PC through a USB 3.0 port? If I switch to a USB 2.0 port, it comes up fine.

Found the issue - I just built a new desktop which supports faster charging of devices through USB. The specification is Battery Charging BC 1.1. The Galaxy Note does not support this. In fact, it isn't supported by many devices so I disabled it and VOILÀ... USB 3.0 ports see the Galaxy Note.
I'm curious to hear if this is causing your issue as well. The BC 1.1 spec is supported by the iPhone which I'm coming from and you list as one of your devices.
In my case, BC 1.1 is implemented by Asus' AI Charger+ - a function of their AI Suite. It can also be implemented by a stand-alone app called AI Charger.

Yes its within the Asus Suite. Bring up the Asus AiSuite application and click on the Tools button. Within the menu popup, select AiCharger+. You'll see enable and disable buttons.
THANK YOU!

Thanks for your post!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was totally buggged about why my USB 3.0 couldn't recognize the media device!
I even called Samsung that my awesome custom rig that Samsung could never put out into market was not recognizing the media device. And they said that they cannot guarantee USB 3.0 connectivity with the phone on a non Samsung computer. LMAO
Its just the AI Charger + LMAO!

There's no way. The USB-C in Mi 9 is only USB 2.0, not even 3.0 so forget about Thunderbolt 3. You can only get at best 20-30 MBps, it's the best practical speed a USB 2.0 can achieve.

Wtf, USB 2.0 is 480Mbps, 48Mo/s.
Unless your Mi 9 is the only device connected to a 5ghz router, a cable will be the best option you got.

That's the THEORETICAL limit (60MBps actually, divide by 8 instead of 10 for more well known understanding), which no PRACTICAL implementation ever reaches. The best one was something around 41MBps, but it's an externally powered drive instead of embedded one in a phone chipset.

FTP depends on the general network speed (+a little overhead), the best you can get is a from the best 5GHz router. But still, 1Gbps is the best you can get. Remember, the best, not average. Actual speed will vary up and down, and can be a lot if the router quality is not good. To get 20Gbps, you need at least Thunderbolt 2. No smartphone ever created ships with it.
Use Wifi Direct, it's the fastest option. I can recommend Send Anywhere.

Hello, can someone try a USB-C to HDMI adapter with Oppo Reno 2 please ?
It works with Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and Oppo R17 Pro and RX17 Pro so it should work also with Oppo Reno 2 but can someone confirm it's working ?
Thank you
Doesn't work ?
I'm quite surprised but didn't manage to make it work as I've just tried

I'm also surprised and disappointed by Oppo, it looks like older Oppo smartphones worked with HDMI and new ones doesn't work anymore, why Oppo ? :/
Thank you for trying it @Vhaalion it's very helpful ! :good:
Are you sure ? Did you tried with sevral simple adapter cable ou with a hub usb-C ?
In fact, in GsmArena site, it's indicated : 3.1 USB features, so it would be compatible with HDMI output... Thank you
I have tested it some time ago with the app "Checker for Type-C to HDMI". It says "your mobile can't support USB Type-C to HDMI".
When I connect my phone to a USB 2.0 socket of my PC it does just load my Reno2. So it is not possible to just plug in the USB-C to USB-A cable into the computer to backup files, save photos etc.
Hello,
I asked to Oppo support last week, they answer, it's compatible. I also try with apps like HDMI checker (there are a lot in googleplay) and its also confirms "compatible"
So I bought and tried with a new cable adapter (USB C => HDMI) and nothing at all... automatically (like a samsung Sx ou Huawei)
I contact Oppo support yesterday, they have users feedback that it works via apps from googleplay, and not an apps wifi mirroring... but an apps that use HDMI transfert
I search, but I found nothing... according to Oppo, Reno 2 is hardware compatible (3.1 USB) but Rom doesn't include automatic detection, when you plug USB/HDMI cable...
So, if you have an idea... I also ask the apps name to Oppo support, but, they have only feedback, they don't try...
Hello,
since android 10 is out on reno2 , and android 10 as native outpout support (can be activated in developper mode) did someone tried with android 10 ?

waiting for awnser before bying usb 3.1 to HDMI cable
