Hello guys , i have been using my Galaxy S2 for more than a year now. Recently i have noticed that my battery life shown by phone is not correct like that last 1% remaining last for like 10% of the battery life (Strange right) previously i used to start charging my phone on 5% only but a few days back i noticed this . Is there any way to correct this , if yes then how.
Thanks a lot
Hello there people!
Basically this is my first post on here because it's actually the first time that I couldn't find a thread covering the same/similar problem that I'm experiencing...
Here's my issue:
I've got two batteries for my SGS 2, the standard 1650mAh battery and an extended 2000mAh battery (Official Samsung Extended Battery Kit), which I bought about half a year ago, when the stock one started giving me battery life of only few hours.
Yesterday, when my battery died I plugged it into my PC and booted the phone back up immediately without letting it charge even a little bit because I was in a hurry... Since I started using it right away the battery drained faster than it could charge and died within seconds with the screen flickering.
I knew I wasn't really being nice to the battery so I finally let it turned off to charge...
This was when I noticed that it wouldn't charge at all (no charging indicator), though it did seconds before when it was on.
So I tested different USB cables and sockets --> Not charging.
I replaced the battery with the old one that I haven't used in months --> Charging!
These results prove that the charger itself and the USB port of the phone do work and indicate that the issue is with the extended battery.
Now my question is: Can a battery just break so suddenly and if yes, is it fixable and how? I knew a battery can get weaker with age and become useless this way and that the most common reason for a battery to not charge at all are broken components (usb cable or port) but I never knew batteries could suddenly stop working.
Keep in mind the 'broken' battery is relatively new (5 months) in comparison to the old one which was in duty for 2+ years.
Another thought: Maybe it's a problem with the phone, 'not recognizing' the battery after it had its sudden death?
I hope my description was somewhat clear and thank you guys in advance for your help and suggestions!
P.S. Don't know if it's of any help here but I'm running a cm 10.2 nightly (Android 4.3.1)
Of course batteries can die like that after a few mths. Manufacturing process isn't always perfect, some of questionable quality will always get through QC. Fix a battery - You're kidding, right ?
I doubt you can get a replacement, most guarantees on phone batteries are 90 days in my experience, but you can certainly go back to the seller & try.

May be charging board is the issue?

Hello, i have a Samsung galaxy s3.
My battery was draining very fast in a 5 month. It drained while i was charging my phone. Yesterday i've tried to deletr batterystats.bin but it didnt helped me.
Yesterday night i turned off my phone and pluged in the battery. In the morning the battery was 58%. I've tried my brother battery in my phone but same thing... I thinkk the problem is in batterystats.bin.
Now im charging my phone and the battery was 58% when i starter to write this post bit now its 51%. Please help sorry for bad english.
Replace charger and usb lead first, flash back to stock rom.
Same problem did not help nothing and I buy new battery after test new cable new charger . New cable and new battery on moms phone work grate
Hi guys,
My mom's device (S2 I9100) has this problem, it won't charge to 100%....
So I ordered new Original battery + New charger from Samsung store in my country.
It was fine for a few days and then it started again, today the device reached 63% and won't charge anymore...
I opened it up, removed the battery for 5 minutes, and then turned on the device and it was on 51% ([email protected][email protected]#)
It's drives me crazy, I can't figure out what's wrong with it, I did tried battery calibration when it reached 100% last week,
but here we are and the problem returned...
Some info: I'm running stable version of official CM11-M11, everything else is perfect in this rom!
And before CM11, I was on some Samsung based custom rom and the problem existed even then...
What do I do?
Thanks!
Hmm... Am I the only one?
I own the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9305 phone, last night i was using it and for mistake i finished the battery and allowed the phone to die. Then i connected the phone to charge for a whole night, more then 8 hours and the phone is still dead.
The battery charging image is shown on the screen and nothing more.
The phone is rooted with CM12.
The charger is good, i have used it many time on different device and also this phone and has always worked.
Is the phone dead ? can i do anything about this ?
Replace the battery.
Yeah was thinking of that but left the phone for extra 24 hours of charging and now it works good again, strange problem.
