TCL 55" U55P6006 P600 serie "developer" - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
Anyone knows how to enter to the "developer" mode in this TV or how to install apks for it? I tested ES file manager, but it wount find my tv even i am same wifi connected. Also i tested this adb thingy but it wount connect/or cannot connect to it.
It has SmartTV 3.0 and own TCL TV+ appshop, but i need to install SmartIPTV app or PerfectPlayer. (It has OTTplayer but that aint good)
Latest firmware is V8-S586T02-LF1V290
Big thanks ahead.
Also tested this: TCPUDPDbg and port 8090...only text which i got there was "BYE!" xD

Works for me without any problems. Just install ES Explorer from the PlayStore. Maybe you should install aptoide via USB Stick and update it to a newer version.

[Q] How Can I install games and apps on x10a using my pc, have no wifie access

I've no wifi or internet access on my phone, wonder how could install using my pc. as using media go and pc companion couldn't add themes, games and apps to my x10a. even couldn't download from sites which they require using android device i've too..
Download the apk to your computer and transfer to your phone and install.
Go to settings, application, tap selection to install from unknown sources ( My fone is in dutch, forgive if the option ain't the same as i written.)
Than open with Astro your wanted app/game. Install with app manager.
Voila, thats all.
If you ain't have Astro.
Search in the forum for ADB, its just a command that can push app trough cable to you phone and install it immediately. If you even can't accomplish that and i suggest you even didn't root your fone now its time to do. I thought it will also install an file explorer *Not sure*.
And if you even don't wanna root your phone, my last suggestion is to prepare your computer/notebook with a Ad-Hoc wifi connection. You will just have to share your internet connection between your Lan and Wifi, set-up an Ad-Hoc network with password. Connect your phone on it, and you have network. Only thing to do in market is download any File-explorer programm. And you can install any downloaded apk that you have put it on your storage card.
GOOD LUCK!
Thanks guys for your support, while searching and searching for way to install apps and games to Android, my x10a I've found a pc software no commands needed to type in console. here it is androidcommander.com I've downloaded and it works for me.

[Q] Connect Nook HD to a digital piano

Hi
I would like to connect my Yamaha digital piano to my Nook HD (I currently connect the paino to a PC via Midi IN/OUT to USB cable which works fine). I thought that rooting the Nook and running USB Host Check would provide the answer but the apps I have tried (Perfect Piano being the most appropriate) don't recognise a device as being connected.
I am sure there must be a way and would very much appreciate any help. Running a cable to my PC each time I want to record something is driving me crazy.
Maybe this could help: http://www.musicalandroid.com/1/pos...o-record-sound-with-your-audio-interface.html ?
According to this: http://www.mikrosonic.com/rd4-midi-android These kinds of things work best at least 4.1.x but 4.2+ would be better. Might need to try a custom rom as well then.
I've not had any experience with this stuff, just found some info for you. Hope it helps!

Thank you very much for the info - it all looked very promising.
USB Audio Recorder won't detect the piano when connected using the midi IN/OUT cable, it is looking for a sound card.
I am thinking that it may work if I connect it via the headphone socket.
Strangely enough if I don't have a Jack to USB cable to hand - but I have ordered one as it must be worth a try!!
Many thanks again for your help
No problem. Let us know if you figure it out in case someone else is looking for a similar solution.

Just to let you know that the cable didn't work! damn!
I have found USBHostSwitcher.apk on one of the forums here, which looked like it would do the trick.
I have downloaded it from a couple of locations but APK Installer comes back with an 'unable to parse' error message.
It either doesn't like my Nook, or the Android version, or ME!
The quest continues.
Thanks again for your help
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9903887/Apps/USBHostSwitcher.apk
Found this on a Nook HD site and uploaded to my Dropbox and tested it. Installed fine for me. I don't have any use for the app, just tested to see if it installed correctly. If it still fails again, then you need to switch browsers or download on PC and transfer over.

Many thanks for your very quick reply.
I have downloaded the file from dropbox to my PC and copied it across to the Nook.
Unfortunately I still get an error message 'There is a problem parsing the package'.
I think it must be me that it doesn't like
Do you have adb set up so you can side load it?

Make sure you have the right drivers installed.
Plug in Nook with USB Debugging enabled
Put USBHostSwitcher.apk into the folder you unzipped with the files for adb.
Open CMD Prompt and change directories to the adb folder
Run:
adb install USBHostSwitcher.apk <enter>

Installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot version 1.1.3.
Whilst I can access the Nook from the PC no problem, ADB can't find the device.
Other people seem to have had the same problem - none of the solutions seem to work.
In fact at least one of them caused problems with Windows reporting that there was a problem with the Nook connection.
I have had to restore my PC to a position a couple of days ago to undo the problem.
I have installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot again but it still can't find my device.
Are you running a custom rom like CM or just whatever comes on the Nook?

Opera mini installation

I need some instructions as to how to proceed. I have the Gear manager and Samsung app store of my phone. What do I do to get it installed and will it work with my phone off?
Open Gear Manager
Click Samsung Gear Apps
Find Opera Mini in the store(should be on editors choice page)
Click install
it will work if you enable wifi or mobile data even if not connected to your phone.
when i look for opera mini in samsung gear apps, no result is shown. please advice. thanks
Ya, it doesnt show up and I think it has to do with newer phones. I think it only works with older versions of android. It shows up with my Note 2 but not with my S8. I hope someone has answers or a fix.
Hello. i have my gear s paired with my galaxy s5 plus (g901f) and i can't find opera on samsung apps. can i install it manually? is there a complete tutorial? thx
opera mini for gear s
Hi, can you please send apk of opera mini for gear s?
I can not find it anywhere.
I would be very grateful to you.
thank you very much
Fabio.
I think you have to use ADB or ODIN to install?
No need for ODIN or any other program. Just download wgt file from the linked post into your computer, connect your Gear S using the charger & micro USB cable, with Gear USB debugging enabled (Settings ≥ Gear info), and double-click the file. It installed automatically for me.

Hello mate can you give us a bit more info pls . I've done all as you saing but error mesage no phone connected apear. I've install roger app as well no luck.
Any ideas?
I was also having problems installing it. but I used another pc that my watch has never been connected to and it installed the Samsung drivers. I then installed rodger tools. This changed the icon for .wgt files to be associated with rodger tools . Then clicking the said .wgt file (with the watch connected) it installed perfectly .
So I think because I have had gears 1 and 2 connected to my pc before it was the drivers causing the issue. I have not had time to check further but that's my guess. Good luck
Hi delboydell, I have the same issue with the installation being in Russian. How did you fix this issue? I've also tried a different computer but the same thing happens.

2 brand new KFHD6. One connects to ADB, the other doesn't.

I installed ADB and fastboot from http://lifehacker.com/the-easiest-way-to-install-androids-adb-and-fastboot-to-1586992378 and Bloater from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294.
I have one KFHD6 that got the OTA 4.5.4 update prior to anything else. This one connects to my PC just fine and ADB works. It's the device I used to install PDANet, which helped me get the computer to recognize the Kindle in ADB.
I took another KFHD6 out of the box today (on 4.5.3), ADB was enabled by default, I did not setup Wi-Fi so I could keep 4.5.3. When I connect it to my PC, I get the Autoplay popup on my computer, but ADB does not connect. There's no prompt to trust the computer. I've tried the same cable. I've tried turning ADB off and back on. I've rebooted my devices.
I did notice that the Autoplay icon is different for the two Kindles. The 4.5.4 looks like a phone ( http://www.groovypost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Open-Device-to-View-Files-AutoPlay.png ). The 4.5.3 looks like a tablet like the icon here ( http://cnet1.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/r.../066e9701a8d91559092f149bd6b32516/drivers.jpg )
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
I figured it out. I don't have PDANet installed on the 2nd Kindle. Can someone tell me the path in the Silk Browser to execute the apk? For example,
file:///Download/PdaNet.apk
But that's not it. I don't have Internet on the Kindle yet, because I don't want OTA updates, so I can't install ES Explorer from the Store. I just need to be able to execute the APK file that I transferred to the Kindle via the USB cable. Thanks!
I figured THAT out. But Silk is not executing the file. It states that it has to download it and that it can be found in Downloads, but then the screen goes black and nothing happens. I hit home to get out of Silk, go back in and it's still black. If I reboot, and then open Silk, it asks if I want to restore my tabs. Yes, gives a black screen. No puts me back at the Silk browser again. The file doesn't show up in the Downloads section of Silk, so I'm unable to execute it. Surely there's a way to install APK files without ES Explorer (I'd actually like to install ES Explorer, but without Internet access).
Which came first--the chicken or the egg? Please help. Thanks!
I have yet to figure this out. I have several KFHD6's. The first one was a breeze to get ADB working. The second one had trouble, but it finally started working when I uninstalled the driver from the Device Manager and the ADB Driver installed. I have 3 more new Kindles which don't want to get on the ADB bus. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here's what I've done:
Installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790)
Installed PdaNet (http://pdanet.co/)
Installed Android SDK (http://dl.google.com/android/installer_r24.3.3-windows.exe)
Updated an inf file and tried to update the driver (http://www.jayceooi.com/how-to-install-kindle-fire-adb-usb-driver/)
The first worked after the first 2 bullets. The second worked after the first 3 bullets and then uninstalling the driver in the Device Manager. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Here's the solution if anyone has this problem:
Plug in the new device. Let it install the driver in Device Manager. Right-click --> Properties on it. Uninstall device and unplug it. Reboot your PC and you Kindle. Plug your Kindle back in.
It was that easy for me--on 2 new devices. The 3rd was literally plug-and-play. Very weird.

Has anyone installed new codec on TCL 43P20?

Hi,
So I'm just trying to install some more codecs on the smart TV, but it doesn't let you download apk files and doesn't even show them in the file browser from the USB drive.
I've tried using the ES file explorer trick, but the TV doesn't show up on the scan (yes both on the same wifi network).
Has anyone been able to install things on this TV?
