Help Unlocking MediaPad M5 (SHT-W09) - Huawei MediaPad M5 Questions & Answers

Hi, I am currently trying to unlock the bootloader to my M5 but I havent been having any luck at all. I have tried contacted huawei in several regions and they each give me the same response, that they cant help. I know people have posted information to use DC unlocker but I dont want to pay for that service since I am broke now so actually paying for DC unlock seems hard for me. I was wondering if anyone knew another way to go about obtaining the unlock booloader codes or if anyone has a DC unlocker Account I can use that would be incredibly appreciated. I just want to root my device so I can prevent google, facebook, and other major tech companies from stealing my information while also doing a few things to make it run a little better.
So please if anyone could help me that would be great. If someone has a DC unlocker account that I can use to get the bootloader code, that would be incredible, if someone does can you PM me or send me a message. Thank you so much for your time and effort guys.

Dude,
DC Unlocker costs like $5. If you can't afford to spend $5, you should consider selling the tablet.

I got my MDA Vario 2 to UNLOCK!!!

Ok, I'm just ecstatic b/c I just got my Vario II unlocked! I did have to pay for it but I believe anyone can do it (I'm in the US and it was just horrible when I got the Vario 2 and it was locked to the T-mobile UK when I us T-mobile US and they weren't compatible--but this process worked and should work to unlock it to all GSM networks).
Well here's what I did --I bought the unlock code (38 USD) from www.gsmliberty.com and then downloaded the unlocking program from www.imei-check.co.uk/m3100unlock.php I followed the instructions for the "imei-check" page with the unlock code from the gsmliberty page (b/c they didn't have the proper unlocking program, but "imei-check" did). So I had to do it a few times, but if you remove your microSD and even the "spacer" it should work. (I tried it once and it didn't work; I reset the device then removed the "plastic microSD spacer" and then it worked--I'm not sure if that was the problem or not--we are just in the beginning stages of this development.)
Ok, so if you do it PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE download the USB monitoring programs as it seems the developers are in need of the code you can retrieve from the usb reads. Save the log files and let us know when you get them.
The first usb monitoring program is from http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Products/home/usb-monitor.html and download the trial. The second is from http://www.sourcequest.com/template.jsp;jsessionid=EDF03FE41E63246BF3446E94D94ABE03?PAGE_ID=homeTry and you can download the trial there too.
Please help the developers to figure out why this worked. Everyone's effort is needed!
If you need any other info from me, let me know and I'll do my best to help out with this endeavor.
[It's a bummer b/c I had been monitoring all my USB activity with the USB Monitor and then the SourceQuest one as well, but I kept having to restart and reset my device and thought I wouldn't have any luck, so the last time I did it, I didn't run those programs, and of course that's the time it work--wouldn't you know.]
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but you paid money to this company who appear to be providing codes for IMEI-Check's technology either legitimately, or, more likely, fraudulently. You then ask everyone else to spend money with this same company, and even ask them to help reverse engineer the original technology which IMEI-Check have spent time and money developing?
So, would it be fair to assume you work for GSM Liberty?
EH ? I don't get it ?
Why not just pay the $38 straight to IMEI-check and be done with it ?
Aside from the moral issue - I could understand (or at least see the point ) if the other company were selling codes for a lower price - but to suggest people pay the same amount to a third party company for the same code to use with IMEI check's unlocker is wierd , to say the least !
OR am I missing something ?
I'm not a spy.
I do apologize. I didn't realize that IMEI-check was working for the Vario 2, so when I found out that the gsmliberty unlocking was working I thought I'd tell everybody. (Originally IMEI-check wasn't able to unlock the Vario 2--there was reported problems on the other forums.)
So I looked for another option. And of course after you guys wrote, I see IMEI-check can unlock it, so I didn't mean any harm or immoral action--just development of the unlcoking software for the xda developers.
Cheaper to get the unlock code from t-mobile
does anyone know of a way to unlock the phone with any software from xda developers?

[Q] Android and Note noob, need advice

Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm losing focus reading all the posts on the subjects. And I'm on a limited timeframe, so I would really appreciate if someone could help me or point me at information that I can use. I'm totally new to Android - replacing my iPhone.
I just got a Note from Rogers (Canada). I have 2 weeks to return if I'm not satisfied. I like Note but it's locked and I travel a lot, so I need to unlock it. There are too many options here and I'm getting confused:
1. Google gives me a lot of links to some shady websites that promise an unlock via some magic. Are these legit? Do they work? I couldn't find any definite answer.
2. Rooting/replacing ROMs/other crazy stuff. I'm ok with this as long as I know that I can unlock the device and it will stay unlocked. I would prefer to wait until ICS is released, but I need an unlock soon
So, my questions are:
1. Is going with Note from Rogers a good idea? Or should I spend money on an unlocked version from Europe?
2. Should I buy Roger's version outright? Expensive and I'm paying my 3 year term anyway Then they can unlock the phone for a fee ($50).
3. Can I use one of those online unlocking sites? Or will I just get ripped off and won't get the actual unlock?
4. Does the phone stay unlocked after an update (like to ICS) if online unlockers are used and work?
5. Seeing how different the versions of Note are is there a chance that the Canadian version (Roger's) will get much less attention in the area of third-party devs simply based on the number of users? Or it doesn't matter? I would really love to get into modding and having some real nice functionality/wigets/look-and-feel on the device.
Well, sorry for being so verbose. I would appreciate any help on this. My other choice would be to get a Galaxy Nexus instead, but I'd hate to give up this huge screen.
Thanks in advance! Hope this is not totally off-topic. If it is, I'm sorry for that.
cellunlocker.net is what most have been using, if record ur process of unlocking ur phone and send it to them they refund ur money i myself couldn't record it so i paid but well worth it 25 bucks and its pretty quick just check ur spam folder in mail if ur using gmail mine was there within two hours
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Thanks for the advice. Used the service, got the code in couple of hours and unlocked my phone! Happy as can be!
P.S. It cost me $7.99 to unlock Rogers Note.

Help me unlock an 800

I am looking for anyone who can help me.. i have tried everything.. every website i have found on or off this forum to unlock my t-mobile UK locked lumia 800. Everyone has given me a refund back and been unable to help me.. I live in australia and am a student so simply buying a new one is not affordable for me.. i have tried calling t-mobile int he uk numerous times endured lengthy costly calls only to have them tell me they cant help me because i am not a t-mobile customer..
Initially i was in contact with the person that i purchased th phone off and t-mobile sent them an unlock code for me which they passed on.. BUT it doesnt work?? the code is wrong or faulty.. and they have since ceased contact with me rendering me handicapped with a glorified gps camera..
SO i offer say this
1. Can anyone suggest a way for me to unlock my phone
2. Is anyone who is a t-mobile customer who would be willing to ring them up on my behalf (i would provide you with all the information about my phone) and get an unlock code for me..?

Did you try to flash stock unbranded firmware? Idk if this overwrites simlock but you can try it.
simlock is not flashing dependant to any firmware. it is hard-written to eeprom or PM or something similar.
anyway if this site http://sim-unlock.net/site/Nokia/Lumia 800/ shows temporarily unavailable then you are temporarily out of luck!!
I was in a position simialr to you.
I can only guess that T-Mobile were sending out erroneous unlock codes, as the first one I received from my seller didn't work. After a few months and some shouting at him, he called T Mobile back and got an 'update' code which worked.
Is the owner's email address accesible to you? Try sending him a reasonable email advising him that he just needs to give T Mobile a quick ring and they can sort it all out. If not, get more details from whatever service you used to buy it from him (ebay, etc) and send him a stronger email.
If he sold you an unlocked lumia and you agreed to take the locked one WITH an unlock code (a fully unlocked phone delivered in two stages) then he does have an obligation to either provide it or give a refund (as he has missold a good).
Edit:
I do have a T Mobile account and would be willing to give it a try getting you an unlock code. PM me.

I need to unlock bootloader for my Huawei 2018.
I have bootloop on my phone.
But I don't have money for it, so if anyone no how to get it for free you will be my life saver.
no one knows i cant use my phone anymore now
why i bought this phone
There is currently no way to unlock huawei devices other than paid means. DC Unlocker is currently the cheapest service. you will need to find a way to cough up some money or leave your phone as it is.

Buying a Mate 20 pro, have a few questions

The phone will arrive in a few days, figured I should start a thread in advance.
I've unlocked and rooted every phone I owned since the HTC HD2. I've tried to prepare but I've hit a wall everywhere I looked. All the methods of unlocking bootloader and rooting seem to be outdated.
Is there still a way to root the Mate 20 Pro? I'm willing to spend some money to get it done but it seems the unlock codes are no longer available, I haven't found an alternative way to do so.
Unfortunately for now there is no way to have BL unlock codes for Huawei, but sometimes you can buy them from third party services like FunkyHuawei (don't buy it from them tho) or Global Unlocking etc.. But you have to be quick cause, it's available only for a few days.. I got my BL unlock code for free on here so just be patient and check XDA as often as possible..
But the prices have varied a lot lol it started at $155 to 6$ (the cheapest I could see) , don't pay too much for it
Ps : maybe @crys18 can help you to have a code? (This awesome man provided me a free BL unlock code and many others too, but he offers good prices when the BL unlock codes are available.
Phone arrived today, just started tinkering with it. Bought on ebay, BOE display if it matters. Where would I go to stay updated on when bootloader unlock codes become available?
