I recently went to a complete stock state on my Mate 10 Pro using BLA-L29 C432 150 image. Everything has been working smoothly for a couple of days. I took a couple of pictures in the morning but early in the afternoon I couldn't anymore. I can take a shot and it shows as a thumbnail in the camera app but when opening it in galley shows a greyed picture with a "Loading in progress" text across it.
I tried all kind of things including clearing various caches and renaming the DCIM directory but that didn't work. It should be noted that taking a video works just fine.
Does anyone have a trick I could try to get the camera back?

Out of the blue the other day, every time i try to slide across to acces my photo album on my touch pro i get an error message saying " album searcher can not be accessed.
and i just tried to get into my album know and i can at least get into it, but if i try to delete a a picture or view, nothing happens
Thanks Chris
Your not by chance having problems with your video playback too, are you?
After the Official update, my Photos and Videos page will lock up if you stop on it or look at a pic or vid too. I am now adding each cab one by one to find the culprit. Anyone else having this issue?
i did a hard reset on my phone, bringing it back to stock, and the first thing i checked after the hard reset was the albumn, know it says thier are no photos in the albumn even tho their are
Sometimes when i take pictures and check them out later they are fine until i tap on them from the gallery then they get all messed up and seem to get saved that way. Here is my hurried explanation of what that looks like...On the phone they are half cut out and a rainbow of color goes where the picture crops out so the top half is fine the bottom is filled in with the cascade of color. From inside the gallery the picture loooooks fine until i tap on it then its all messed up again, if i put these messed up pictures online or save them to my computer they are still ruined. This is becoming a problem because i usually have no time to write down my schedule at work and i like to snap a picture of it which takes seconds also it happens occasionally i can take several pictures at a time and they all come out fine. I'am rooted using photon torpedo i have edited my build prop in the past for higher quality still shots but i restored the default build along time ago. Iam not able to update at the moment unless i go back to stock if that would help i would return to stock, update and root later. Anyone have this happen?
Nope.I've has my pictures cut in half tough with the rainbow bit before.greet changing the store location and see if that helps. G.l.

if storage location does not fix it, try a hard reset. I was having some issues and had to hard reset, open camera, take pic, check it gallery otherwise i would get a force close in the gallery when trying to "album" the photos. Hope this helps
Hello,
I have not found anybody posting about these problems. The first problem is very odd, but sometimes I can take a picture and it will be fine. It will show up in the little preview window of the camera and in the Gallery. Then at some time the picture displays as just a black picture. If I try to view the picture after mounting it to my laptop. I get an error, "Error interpreting JPEG image file (Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x00 0x00). I attached a screen shot of my Gallery. There is 3 black pictures where there where perfectly good picture.
To me one of the funniest issues is that I can see the image just fine for a few minites sometimes. Other times it will be a day or a week that the picture works just fine. Then I will have just a black picture there. This was not happening until after I have been running th3Bill AOKP 4.1.2 for about a month. Before this the pictures and camera where working just fine.
I don't know if it is related but shortly after this started I would sometimes try to take a picture and the phone will say to please insert a memory card. I know that the SD memory card is still in there. I can access files off of it. This can happen after I have taken some pictures and the camera worked fine, or after waking it up after sleeping for a long time. Most of the times rebooting the phone will fix that problem.
Is there anyway to fix this so that my photos don't become a picture that is nothing but blackness?
Thanks
What rom are you using? Anything above 2.3.6 IS broken, camera doesn't behave normally

Android Open Kang Project (AOPK) 4.1.2.
I just find it odd that this seems to be a problem with something going wrong with the data after it is writen to the SD card. That it is only something that happens some of the time. That I could have a picture and use it for months in some cases and then it turns black, or I could have it for 1 minute before the same thing happens.
Yup, reverting back to 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 should get back to normal

I've moved all my stuff over from iCloud to my Mate 20 pro and google photos. In the google photos app When doing this I for some reason manged to get the photos all messed up in order and it looks like it has all the videos first and then all the photos come at the end. With approx 10k photos/videos this is a complete mess and I can't find my photos anymore. I used the huawei app for transfering files from my iphone xs to the mate when I first booted this thing up.
If I go to the Gallery and select "albums" and then "all photos" it's looks like its sorted by last change date and that is when I imported the photos to the phone or the order it was imported with pictures first and then videos. If I view them in "photos" instead of "albums" like above then it's in correct order. I can sorta work around this in the builtin gallery but if I open the facebook app I can't select any album and then all the photos are displayed in wrong order so I can't find what I'm looking for. Snapchat is the same way and prolly other apps aswell so I would like to fix this at the root of the problem
i have the exact same issue here after moving all my content from my microSD. I even tried to update the exif information and set different dates but i can't manage to sort the photos in the proper order. i still have several ones that are displayed first despite having an older exif date .... this is only the case with the mate 20 pro, all ly samsung phones recognize the dates in the proper order.... i even tried several photos apps....
Good thing that I'm not alone at least. I found some apps that could change the last changed date of the pictures according to EXIF shotdate but it was paid and since I don't know if that's the problem I didn't go for it. Did you try to change last changed date to the same as exif shotdate to see if it sorted it properly then?

Did you find a solution to this? Still a complete mess here but I haven't tried anymore. Not much info about this other than old threads :/
I've used a modded Sony Xperia Album app on all my phones, since I actually owned a Sony many years ago. Sorts by creation date, looks great and works perfectly
Hi there,
this issue quickly came into place after I got my phone for a couple of days. Maybe it's because I have a lot of pictures on my device but it's very annoying.
So what happens?
I take a picture with the stock camera and immediately after taking it, I see it on the bottom right where I can click it to open the gallery. If I do that the picture opens for a split second and I'm back in the camera view again. I can try that as often I want and it happens again and again. But after about 5 seconds or so it works. Then the gallery (or the taken picture to be more precise) stays open and can be reviewed or shared etc.
Also when I wait those 5 seconds after taking it. So it seems something is processed there but on one of the "fastest phones" this is kind of strange.
Anyone with the same problem?
Thanks

I have the same issue. Maybe the reason is because I have too many pictures.
