Xiaomi Mi A1 Problem when moving data to Micro SD Card - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using a Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android 8.1.0 and August 5, 2018 security patch.
So I wanted to use my sd card as internal storage but for some reason when I choose to migrate my data to the sd card instead of moving them to the sd card they where both on the Internal shared storage and the sd card. Basically I had 24 gb of internal storage and an empty sd card and when I choose to move the data it said that it can move 15 gb and when it successfully finished I had 24 gb of Internal shared storage and 15 gb on my sd card so I ended up having 15 gb more

[Q] Saving Apps to SD

Two things:
When I wrote the image to my SD card to root my nook it changed the capaicty of it to only 39 MB. Is there a way to change that back to the 16 gb it was originally?
Second can I save apps from the market to the SD card or do they have to be saved on internal memory? If I can save them to the SD card is there a way to move apps already on the internal memory to the SD card or do I have to reinstall them?

You need to boot the Nook without the sd card in it, and then once it is on & ready put the sd card back into the nook, go to Settings, Device Info, SD Card, Unmount SD card, Format SD Card. It should now be it's original size.
Right now we are running on android 2.1 so it doesn't support apps on the sd card. Once it is upgraded to 2.2 you will be able to put apps on the sd card. If you want to do it right now you have to partition your sd card. I would say wait until 2.2 comes out officially

Does View come with SD Card?

Does the View come with a Micro SD Card like my Android phones?
If not, where are the pictures stored? Internally.
nope, it comes with internal storage, that is partitioned into various sizes and uses..
my 32g evo view 4g came with the following storage layout;
system rom: 1.12 gb
internal: 8.46 gb (so can hold 8 gig of apps/data without using apps2sd)
sd card: 21.2 gb (21 gig is partitioned as a standard sd card storage, ie for media/apps/storage/etc)
which totals just under 31gb
if you add an actual sd card, is mounted as
/sdcard2
and
/sdcard/ext_sd

[Q] please help me i have problem

i brought micro sd card for my phone it has phone memory 500 mb sd card 2 gb cant remove it and i buyed 16 gb so i want to install apps on my phone to new 16 gb card so i cant do it when i want to change preferred install location here is only 1st phone storage and 2nd 2gb card so what do to install apps on 16 gb card?
P.S i can delete write files on 16 gb card
Are you saying your phone has 2GB internal memory or a 2GB removable SD card? If it's a removable card, all you need to do is copy all the files to a folder on your computer, put the 16GB card in your phone, format it, then copy everything back from the comp to phone.
If the 2GB memory is internal (noted as 'SD card' by the system in some devices), then by default apps are installed here and not on the external SD card (removable card). There are ways to do it though, but they are phone specific and depend on whether a dev has made such a method work for your phone.

2gb card cant be removed so it it fixed http://www.note2forum.com/forum/galaxy-note-2-hacking-mods/80-move-apps-sd-card-directory-bind.html

Phone displays 32gb extSD and internal SD

So I root and unlocked the bootloader of my Verizon note 2 then ran the script to swap internal SD (16) with my 32gb microsd card but after every reboot without running the script my internal and external storage both show 32gb more or less (I have some apps on internal). Is that normal? What's more odd it seems is that when I take out the sd card it still shows 32gb external storage. Any help ? Thanks !!

[Q] 32GB external SD card only shows 1GB available

I have searched high and low for an answer to this but cannot seem to find one. I have recently rooted my NT to use CM 10 and everything appears to be working fine save one exception. I have an external SanDisk 32 GB class 4 card that I am using and it only shows 1GB available when it is installed in my NT. Here are the things I have tried without any luck.
** reformat SD card using SDFormatter.
** double check the partitioning using mini tool and verified that there is only one partition 32GB, FAT 32.
** put the SD card in my laptops SD card reader and I see that all 32 GB are available.
** put the SD card back in my NT and uses AppMgrIII to move the app to external SD, then ejected the SD and saw that the app was no longer available so I know what my NT is calling the SD is in fact my external SD card.
The only thing I have not tried is a new SD. Any clues?
EDIT:
One note, when I go into Settings --> Storage I see two sections marked internal storage and one SD card section.
Internal Storage 1
Total Space 3.97GB
Internal Storage 2
Total Space 29.71 GB (This is my external SD card)
SD Card
Total Space 1.00GB

The 1 GB you see listed is actually internal emmc. Your 32 GB sd is actually 29.71 GB formatted. Your internal user media is 3.97 GB.
This is how internal memory is allocated-
1 GB RAM+1 GB emmc+4GB media+2GB (split between OS and /data)=8GB model.
1 GB RAM+1 GB emmc+4GB media+10GB (split between OS and /data)=16GB model
You did not mention if you have the 8 or 16 GB model. Either way there is nothing wrong with your memory allocation.
I have the 16 GB model. When I try to move apps to SD does it shows it moving to the 1GB sd card which you said was the internal emmc. I will play around some more to see if I can get some more evidence. Thank you for answering!

Are you running an app that mounts/swaps emmc as SD?
No
If you're using paranoid android it swaps the internal storage and SD card. Nothing to be worried about, but if you want it swapped use the succulant build.
did you figure this out? My nook color running 4.0.2 does the same thing (shows 2 external sd cards), and installs all the "sd apps" to the smaller sdcard1 partition instead of my actual external sdcard2. How do I tell it to treat my actual sd as the external sd so I can put all my apps on it?
many thanks

It is "figured out" for OP in the replies. To switch on your build, try asking in the Color forum section. There may be a zip to flash or maybe a change to be made in the build prop. But you need to check it for your device and ROM.
oops sorry, I had so many tabs open researching this I didn't realize this wasn't the NC forum. I have asked in there on a few threads, hopefully something will turn up.
thanks!
