Hi, I tried a few days ago to get help in General but my problem might fit better here.
I use a galaxy s7 with SupermanRom and TWRP I installed 1.5 year ago (updated it a few times but it wasn't up to date now).
A few days ago I got the error message "custom binary blocked by frp lock" after rebooting . I think I unchecked OEM by mistake recently, not sure.
So I used odin to install a stock firmware from Sammobile. I took the most recent one (8.0, my phone was 7.0 I think though). I used HOME_CSC to keep my data.
Odin task succedeed but I got the "No command" error after the blue android screen of installing updates. After restart it puts me on the "encryption failed, please reset to factory settings" screen. I did again the odin install and same issue. I tried a lower firmware but got an odin error.
The big issue is that my SD was actually full and only now I remember allowing the phone to save my pictures on the phone itself 3 months ago...
I just came back from holidays and I really need to get my pictures back before the factory reset.
So I now have only access to the stock (?) bootloader (Jb2v7Ie on imgur, can't post link), the "no command" then encryption failed factory reset screen and last the downloading screen.
I really need your help, I don't want to make a mistake I have barely no experience with all this and I didn't find anything except some shady softwares like dr fone. I don't mind paying 30$ for a software if I can get my pictures back though.
Thanks.

I have my s4(remanufactured with no verizon branding) as my backup phone that i have not toched in months, did a full factory reset to prepare to update it to lollipop and all was well. Phone kept saying "update not available" so i looked up somd possible solutions and tried another reset. I was rooted but upon the reset finishing my custom unlock was gone and my phone said it was official software. So the ota failed again repeatedly so i figured i would try it with kies.
Kies or kies 3 both say phone is incompatible. Tried uninstall/reinstall of drivers, no go. Uninstall/reinstall of kies, no go. Phone is still unknown. Tried Verizon repair, gets stuck at 83% for over an hour. Tried it again, 83%. Tried to do verizon update, 83%. So i figure ok, lets do odin and flash stock 4.4.2 kitkat under download, stops almost instantly in odin. I try 4.3, mk2, all kinds of other official roms, will not go.
I figured for the hell of it let's try the full stock lollipop with the pit file (was using it the whole time) and that actually makes it to the 83%. Its been about 6 months since i have even touched this phone, the only memory i have of what i did is that a while ago i wanted kitkat with root so i downgraded to nc5 then reupgraded with kitkat to keep root on it. Something like that anyways. Am i missing something? I must be right?
Also, it says sw rev fused : 7 binary : 6 if that helps anything. Been looking for a few days, no one seems to have had the numbers in the error I am having.
Thanks guys, i hope i gave enough info. I appreciate the help.
Make sure you are flashing the image for the version of the software you are currently on, or that it was on before all of this.
Hello androiders,
Recently my friend drowned his S6 and told me that he needs a spare phone. He has one, but it's messed up he said. So as a good friend I took that phone home and it appears to be Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 international model for baltic countries. The phone was always kept factory set and never rooted or tweaked in any other way. I am also a really early begginner in this android business, so I am not completely sure what I did.
At first I thought, well, no problem I'm just gonna connect it to Kies and do an emergency recovery. But no, Kies downloads the files all right, but hangs on 0% when installing, also the phone doesn't show any progress bar in download mode. So I abandoned the Kies idea.
Then I said ok, let's try Odin. Got the ROM from Sammobile, checked the tutorials and tried flashing. It went okay for about 80% and then said "FAIL!". After browsing through the abbyss of Google I found that you have to extract the missing.img file and reformat it o .tar, then flash it again. Did that and it semi worked, it started booting! BUT nothing lasts forever, the phone started showing error messages in red and it looks like the phone cannot read the data flashed into it.
So, people, I am asking for your help. I think I need to delete every single crumb of information from the phone and write everything manually in it. Or don't I?
I successfully rooted my phone about a year and a half ago, all went well. Sunday night I had my phone plugged into my computer, and somehow I must have clicked "update" in the Verizon Assistant thing. So it starts updating, and about 2 seconds later I realized what I did. So the phone finishes updating and then goes into the setup wizard. I got a couple questions in and got a message to the effect of "The wizard stopped working", I'd hit "ok" and less than a second later the message would pop back up. So I figured I'd reflash the existing ROM in Odin. "Fail".
Now my phone turns on and goes straight into what I believe is Odin mode. It says "ODIN MODE" with the same text it has in what I know is Odin mode. The only difference is that it doesn't have the green android in the center, it says "Software Update Failed - Your device didn't update successfully, Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update". (Is this the same mode as entering Odin mode with the power/home/vol dn buttons?) So I tried that. Five times. Each time it stops at 83% and says the phone was unplugged. It wasn't, I tried combinations of different cables/USB ports.
From what I've found so far, you need to know my bootloader to help me. The ROM I flashed all those months ago (and tried to reflash recently) was "I545VRUFNC5_I545VZWFNC5", My original build was "KOT49H.I545VRUFNG6", The Verizon Repair Assistant sees "Version OF1"... So I guess I have NC5 or some screwed up combination of NC5 and OF1?
I *may* have had a little bit of data on the phone that I'd like to save, almost everything was on the external card, which I have now removed to prevent accidents. However, I believe I've already lost any data that was in the phone? I'd be perfectly happy to get it working at all, but I would like to update to OF1, since it appears it can be rooted. If that's wrong, I'd like to have the newest version that can be rooted. But like I said, working at all would be great.
Thanks so much for any help

Folks I am looking for help to recover a bricked VZW S4.
Phone is Verizon model, never rooted and it was using latest Android for VZW S4 plus native encryption (my wife's phone) I am not sure the build because phone won't boot anymore.
Yesterday out of the blue it just started a boot loop so I tried reboot and removed the battery and nothing, tried than wiping cache and even factory reset and nothing.
When I got home I tried restore the stock firmware with Odin but it failed and now I just have the failed software update nag.
I tried Odin .3.07 , 3.09 and 3.10, also tried different firmware (see pics) but Odin keeps failing!
I must be doing something wrong so any input will be appreciated.
No replies so far but i fixed it!
For however in the same situation, after losing hours trying to restore the original firmware by myself without success, to my surprise I fixed it in 10 minutes using the Samsung Smart Switch pc app!!!!!
Thanks XDA for being such a tremendous source of information!
So a couple days ago I was given a new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge from my dad's friend. At the time I was checking out the phone and was enjoying it until I noticed that I couldn't update the software because I was using an unauthorized system. I was also getting multiple popups from SuperSU. I looked up the app itself and I found out that the previous owner rooted the phone. Since it was rooted, I couldn't return this to a store or even access privacy mode for some reason. So I deleted my apps, and deleted my google accounts and tried to unroot the system myself by going on a few tutorials I would find on Youtube.
I downloaded the stock firmware and used Odin to flash it onto my phone to unroot it. It didn't worked as each time I tried I got brought to Recovery Mode a "dm-verity verification failed...." "Need to check DRK first...". I was unable to access normal mode because of it so I rooted the phone back myself since I was getting so inpatient and because I had to wait a while to download the stock firmware to begin with. I once again had a rooted phone with SuperSU installed again. This time though I decided to search SuperSU and I found the option to unroot the system in the app itself.
Since I was curious to see if it actually worked this time around I just pressed it and the cycle followed. I couldn't access Normal Mode and downloading the stock version didn't work either because again "dm-verity verification failed...." "Need to check DRK first...". This time it was much worse than last. I found out that FRP is enabled if the google account is still on the phone, so I couldn't reroot again and any custom firmware would fail when flashed. I tried removing the google accounts through my PC but it didnt seem to work. I tried everything, from Smart Switch, to different firmwares, to trying to flash fixes, to extracting firmware without cache.img .
Every problem I had went hand in hand as I couldn't download customize firmwares because of FRP being on, and I couldn't access the normal mode to remove my accounts because I keep getting booted to recovery mode because dm-verity and drk failed. I wasn't able to update from ADB either because my phone is only recognized by other devices when in Downloading mode. It's been about 3 days since Ive been trying to fix this but nothing seems to be working.
Please, if you know how I can fix this mess please help me out. Thanks
My model is SM-G925T
Whats the build of the last stock rom you flashed on your phone?
