Does anyone know if the cases for the Z3 play will work for the Z3, and vice-versa?

They should. I have one case listed for the Z3 Play, but fits the Z3.

They are. Just picked up the z3 play and went to Verizon and good a case for the z3 and it fits perfectly. Probably over paid for the case but I'm clumsy when it comes to all glass phones lol

im getting the sony smart watch with my preorder for sony xperia s, maybe smart tags in box too if im lucky.
Will be looking for a good case for this. I like leather pouches with pull tabs. Ordered this for my galaxy - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0071QPIV2/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details but it will be going back along with the phone. It seems the dimensions are a little short for the Xperia S
i like the otter box commuter cases, i have a defender one for my HTC Desire HD, but no announcements yet for xperia s one yet from otter box

Anyone else depressed by the fact it has the flappy usb covers and that hdmi is on other side? Trying to think of some way to make a powered dock because i doubt one will be released. a real shame, even the cheaper p and the ion have docks.

This case arrived today, it's really nice. Does anyone think I'd get away with using this on an Xperia S?
Xperia S dimensions - 128 x 64 x 10.6mm
Galaxy Nexus - 135.5 x 67.94 x 8.94mm
Galaxy Nexus is a bit taller/wider, Xperia S is fatter. It means in terms of height the Xperia S will fit in the case, but it may be a bit "loose" on the width. With it being fatter though it may sit more snugly in the case regardless of the smaller width.
I have till the 30th of March to return it to Amazon, I guess I can hold onto it until my Xperia S arrives on the 12th - Although I won't be able to open it anyway (if I want to be able to return).
Looks like there's going to be an official sony hard case:

Haicom is a very good brand, I've had their vent holders for my Xperia Neo and Xperia Arc, and they're simply wonderful. They don't damage your phones, they're very sturdy, it's great! And they are very cheap! Worth a go!
I was slightly wrong and didn't notice the ones I linked were universal ones. It'll take a week or two-three and then we'll see custom-made Haicom ones appearing.

Thanks for that, but like I mentioned I prefer it to be windscreen holder, because I like to use a phone as video recorder as well. I know, I am picky.

It's a special offer from t-mobile in the netherlands. You get it for free if you're getting a t-mobile subscription with the xperia s.

Hey rajmistry,
There are a lot of windshield holders out there that will work given the Xperia S has 4.3" display. I have a LUXA2 H5 windshield holder for the Xperia Arc that I am using today. It's a little costly compared to other generic solutions out there, but the aluminum that they use is really nice.

The smart watch and Bluetooth headset look great. Looking a getting one or the other. Roll on 6th......
Anyone know where I can find a decent screen protector? I want a clear one that is cut to size so that rules out both options that Clove are offering...

Did the case fit for Xperia S? Or did you return the item?
Hi all, about 2 months ago I ordered the DK32 charging dock for the Z1 compact I had (and lost). Enough about that, I was wondering if that charging dock was compatible with the Z2, it seems like they are all exactly the same product just with different cradles (I don't know what to call them) for the different depths of the phones. If the DK32 is compatible is there anywhere I would be able to order the cradles only and leave out the dock?
Well I'm using the Z1 magnetic charging dock on my Z2 and it works flawlessly so the one for the Z1C should work too but keep in mind that the Z1 compact is thicker so it the Z2 will sit loose but it should charge

If anyone is interested I have spoken to the TemperedArmor team and they are willing to make a tempered glass screen protector for the Verizon Xperia Z3v if they can get about 40 preorders. I'm already in to buy one if they can.
Take a look: https://twitter.com/temperedarmor/status/524620105326804992
Would appreciate if anyone can spread the word and help out.
Have you checked if the Z2 or Chinese version Z2 protectors will fit?

Regular Z2 is smaller than the Z3v for certain. I wasn't able to find any for the Chinese L50t or L50u model before but I actually just found one and sold in the US too. Decided to bite the bullet and give it a try.
Thanks for the idea! :good:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291263724400
Will be sure to let everyone know how it works after it arrives. *crosses fingers*
Details:
Sony Xperia Z2 (Regular model): 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm
Sony Xperia Z2 (Chinese model) : 149 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm
Sony Xperia Z3 (Regular model): 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm
Sony Xperia Z3v (Verizon model): 148.5 x 73.4 x 8.9 mm
Further investigation:
Interesting enough even the design language of the Chinese Z2 model is slightly different from regular Z2 and pretty much matches what the Z3v is based on (excluding the magnetic dock port). You can compare the two below against the Z3v.

half a mm on both length and width, I'd say it should fit perfectly. That's the overall size too so the curve of the frame accounts for some of that. Hope this goes well for you!
Well we're in luck, looks like Verizon has their own glass screen protectors officially for the Z3v right on day 1. Impressive!

Rhino Shield
I just got back from these guys - evolutivelabs dot com makers of rhino shield - they say this:
"Our minimum quantity for production is 50 pieces. If you can collect 20 pieces, we will make a pre-order page to collect more demands globally to reach the target of 50 "
Anybody interested? If yes, then please let them know via contact form. I would love to see Rhino Shield on front and back of my z3v

No, I'm asking you why you feel it is better than other options. I can Google Rhino Shield (and have already) but I cannot Google your opinion based on your personal experience.
Check out my Z3 review, they will have Z3v next week and for $6 it's a steal
I haven't used a screen protector in years. The galaxy s3 was my last phone for more than two years with no scratch. The z3v screen seems just as tough.

How did the L50T screen protector work on the Z3v? I have been looking at picking up a Nillkin one from Amazon.
Any updates for L50t fit?
How does it fit?
I wanted to have QI wireless charging but as Sony discontinued WCR12, I was checking WCR14 cover. As Z2 and Z3 are very similar in size, they both have magnetic charging on left side, I was thinking if it would work? I didn't find any difference between the ports but I want to be sure before spending the money as its expensive. Don't tell me to buy magnetic charger as I didn't find it much useful. Thanks.

I never could find a concrete answer on this either so I said eff it and bought one today.. I'll reply back with the results once it shows up in the mail.
I doubt it will fit, my cousin has a z3, it is thinner and slightly shorter. But the charging pins are the same size.

Yeah it was a tight squeeze, but it did more or less clip into place without too much of a stretch. Unfortunately unless it just doesn't like my Nokia charging pads (which are still working fine with other devices so I doubt it) it seems that the magnetic charging contacts just aren't lined up well enough for it to work.
Just wanted to resurrect this thread to see whether you managed to use this on a daily basis
I've been using this dock (link below) with Z1 phone for a year and it was ok, a bit wobbly. Then recently I got Z3 OEM dock which totally sucked and didn't work with the cases I bought. Luckily I still had the one for Z1 and I was surprised how nicely it fits. Without the case it still works, but has too much space on the sides, but with the Nilkin case it's a perfect fit and slides easily without having to align anything.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/USB-...ation-For-Sony-Xperia-Z1-L39h/1757404387.html
Note: the insert will only work for Z1 without the case.
Nilkin case:

Also bought this case and it's tighter fit and requires a bit of force to get in/out but still works:

Problem with the dock you suggested it's too easy to miss docking, while the one I have you, it slides in always in one spot. You don't even have to look if it docked properly or not.
