Huawei Mate 10 Pro heats up badly when playing YouTube - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I have a new Huawei Mate 10 Pro and when I play YouTube videos on it, after about 20 minutes the device gets crazy hot, borderline unsafe.
I’ve tried wiping the cache and shutting down unnecessary apps in the background, but that hasn’t resolved the issues.
Any suggestions of advice would be very welcome
Thanks!

Honor 9 Very Slow - Slower than Honor 8

Hi Guy,
I have my Honor 9 sicne couple of months for now. I have the latest firmware installed (STF-L09C432B150) but it is very laggy. I find it defintely slower than the Honor 8 which was very responsive.
I didn't install heavy application though. I only have one game (Clash of clans) installed and a have not so many application that starts on boot, just these ones:
weather pro
zoiper
avast
call recorder
Do you have the same feeling with your phone ? What could i do to make it more responsive?
Thanks,

Hi.
Do a backup and a reset factory.
No met problems in B150 for me.
Same problem. Bought It today. Updated to 150 and then a factory reset. It is laggy in all the system. Scroll animation, switching Chrome pages... In games is horrible, i used to play Shadow gun Dead zone but now it is impossible beacuse there is latency between finger scrool and the related animation. I'm very disappointed because seems that this problem is present since 130 firmware

Unfortunately it wont. Scrolling delay is still in 180.
I hope it will be fixed in Oreo or this for sure will be my first, and last, huawei phone.

Does Oreo fix Honor 8 touch latency lag as well?

Firmware 8.0.0.151

Anyone install this firmware and can share its opinion?
I don't receive the official OTA but the huawei firmware finder says that I can install it.
Does it solve some bugs?

For me still not approved which model do you have im still on .122 since it arrived... And when i tried .123 from FF it started installing but the gave error..
I have the 10.8 lte.

In my case the update was automatically the first time that I turn on the tablet.
You can check with the huawei firmware finder app if you can force the update.
EDIT
I just check and the 151 is available as official ota.
Update in progress.
I let you know if I see any improvement or bug fix

@giovaorama I've got the update yesterday for my SHT-W09 and I didn't notice any differences in comparison to B123 beside the May security update
May security and now dimming problem is not avoidable. Last update apps dimmed only after reopening them, now it dims the moment you open them, so that's nice.
Edit: Resetting the tablet and installing pixel launcher fixed dimming problem if anyone have it like I did.
I'm sure this update when it first appeared on FF had face unlock but now it just contains the May security update?

I stel did not recive any update sins i bought it before 2 months, what to do with the netflex i start to hate the tablet becouse the poor multimedia optimatzation
After being bricked for a bit, I now have 8.0.0.153 installed on a c636 SHT-AL09.
I haven't noticed any new features. But B153 feels faster than I recall B121 feeling out of the box. Notably, the fling/scroll/click response (in web browsers and to a lesser extent the whole OS) seems smoother, faster and less buggy than I remember it. It could be a side effect of a factory reset - but generally I'm glad I ended up with b153.

Android auto on p20 lite?

Dear all,
I was wondering if anyone can confirm that android auto (connection to car head unit) is working correctly with the P20 lite.
I really love to keep my waze on my car head unit when I replace my iphone with the P20 lite (don't ask, company policy changed... )
Best regards,
Bart
I have been using Android Auto on my P20 Lite since july, with Kia Ceed (2017) and is working ok, sometimes but very rarely i am having issues like not properly displaying bottom menu bar, but reconnecting phone always helps.

As far as I know, the hyundai and Kia were using same radio units for some models of cars so there is a big chance it will work ok with no problems.
Works perfectly with VW Golf 7

[Leak] Mate 30 Pro Promotion Pictures - Who is buying it?

What do you guys think? Worth an upgrade or stick to the Mate 20 Pro?
http://www.slashleaks.com/l/huawei-mate-30-pro-oficial-promotional-picture
I'm not upgrading that frequently anymore I don't think. This phone is already super smooth and does everything I need. Plus it'll be getting q soon.
mate20 pro, first and last huawei for me
I'll keep the 20 for at least one and a half year. Don't see much of a reason to upgrade yearly nowadays.
In my opinion I think Huawei make a good product and compete well with the best out there including Samsung and Apple. Unfortunately until we know for certain their US related issues and Android relationship in the long run, I don't think it's worth investing your top dollar on their flagship. For me this may be my first and last flagship from Huawei. I would definitely jump back again if everything has been clear and certain.
rooted mate 20 pro here, don't think there will be bootloader unlock codes for the mate 30 pro, i'll stick to the mate 20 pro and then i'll maybe get the note 11
If it's as bad ass as the Mate 20 Pro was at launch, and the price is right, then yes. Otherwise, I'll just hang on to my Mate 20 Pro a bit longer.

AOSP and no Google would be a dream for many here (GApps can always be installed if needed), and the removal of a lot of the EMUI & Google cruft would be awesome.
No point buying a phone of this value if it doesn't come with the essential Google apps.
Pixel 4 XL or Xperia 2 here I come
I am happy with the Mate 20 pro, I would jump ship if real life reviews (not the reviews given by you tubers which are handed the devices by Huawei for the purpose of "coloured" reviews) confirm a major upgrade on the camera's over the Mate 20 pro. I came from the Mate 10 and the camera on the Mate 10 gives me sometimes pictures like a oil painting, not happy with its camera so the upgrade to the Mate 20 pro was huge.
Going back on topic, as much as I dislike Apple, Samsung and google and their policies - being realistic they are all out there to sell their product and Huawei is not different and going in the same direction like Apple and co I welcome the opportunity of showing google they are not the only ones out there (except for Apple) offering an operating system for mobile devices. I would love to see an alternative. I believe I have to see in how far I can live without google services and how expensive the phone is. I believe it would be a matter of time before developers have alternatives for the major applications. I will follow closely the development on this subject, by the time the Mate 30 pro has reached an affordable price I am willing to spend we will know where we stand concerning google and its possibilities. So time will tell.

Except they are not allowed to use AOSP either. Also with more and more being put into play services which can be blocked device wide by a server switch. I wouldnt count on installing google apps. One fast device check and boom the device is blocked from the play store.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Heck I'm not even sure you belong here. But then most really don't.
I love the mate 20 pro . Reliability ,quality and all other factors needed. I use the mate 20 prop with android auto in my car every day. If I am not able to use Google photos, google maps, Android auto and Spotify I shall not buy the Mate 30 . It seems to be the best but cannot use it

Critical Bluetooth audio lag

Ahoy good people of XDA,
Before the m20p I had OnePlus 5,
With the OnePlus I used Huawei freebuds.
Everything was great, good times
"What a Time to be Alive",
6 months ago I bought Mate 20 Pro, have to say it wasn't cheap, the phone is amazing.
But I can't deal with the audio lag I'm having on Bluetooth with the freebuds, unlike the OnePlus, it's working like sh**t,
Checked with huawei services and no help from then at all.
Anyone having this bug or maybe fixed it?
**Already formatted my device, no fix**
**Already tried to play with the codec, no fix**
**Want to throw the phone to the sea**
Please help
