You need way more light for slow mo. Like where the picture comes out white washed and then it's good. At least for my s9+

It is 720p (not 1080p or 4k, and like another poster stated, you need great light. Go to Pro mode and set your shutter speed to 1/480 or 1/960 and you'll get an idea how much light is needed.

Has the SIII a slow motion camera like the htc one x?
It has alot of functions, but don't think so. Would be cool though!
In the camera filming mode the only options you get are: edit shortcuts, self recording, flash, recording mode (normal or MMS size), exposure value, timer, effects (negative, b&w, sepia), resolution, white balance, outdoor visibility, anti shake, guidelines and video quality.
Hope it helped!
sure helped!no slow motion for galaxy sIII
there's some apps but they are not working..
The thing is that the camera itself records just 30 frames per second, that's just over the comfortable zone of smoothness (you need around 60 for a good slow-mo). I don't see how apps could help with this one since the speed of the sensor matters here.
galaxy s3 camera lens has the capability of doing slow motion videos @ lower resolution, wait for the mods.

Just download the Note 2 Camera mod here by HyperX and flash it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691145
It comes with 1/8 speed slow motion (12.5% speed ~ 1 second recorded is 8 seconds video) and it's working for me. Make sure to read the thread first to make sure you got the right software first.
Good luck buddy!

Note 2 has slow motion!
Maybe someone will be good enough to liberate the slow motion from the Note 2 to other platforms ))

So for me, don't get me wrong, during daylight this camera is awesome, but at night time or during some lower light items, this camera doesn't look too hot. For example I went to a theater performance and took some pictures with my Note 3, my date took pictures with her iPhone 5 and her pictures of the stage and actors turned out real well whereas mine with the stock camera app and Camera Zoom FX just looked washed out and not that good. I can't say I had this issue with my S3 either because i was able to take pretty good pictures with that camera. Any ideas on how I can optimize my camera taking skills here? I'm not a noob with the cameras either, it's just frustrating being hit or miss on pictures you know? Help would be greatly appreciated!
I find that the stock camera app leaves a bit to be desired. Especially for low light , action, or macro shots. There are some very nice paid cameras like camera fv-5. I actually also like ucam for a free camera.

Low light situations and no OIS requires a very steady hand..Not much else you can do man it kinda is what it is.

Anyone tried the ported HDR+ google camera on LG G5? If yes, how's the photo quality compared to stock?
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported/
I've been using the HDR app on my G5. Works well so far. A test shot of a convenience store after close gave opportunity for vibrant colors and bright lights against shadows. The normal camera on auto mode had entirely blown out whites at the cooler. G5 HDR gained some detail there and balance overall. Google HDR+ restored much more detail in the whites, truly dynamic range. It did tend to oversaturate but it was much more accurate to the naked eye than the normal camera actually. It also darkened the shadows a bit much but again that was more accurate visually and detail was still there to recover in post processing if desired.

Thanks for the detailed response! Looks like the app is worth trying out then!
Is the middle photo HDR+? That looks the best to me.
I tried taking some pics with it.... Dynamic range is phenomenal but the colors aren't as vibrant nor do they pop as they do on a pic taken from the stock camera app

That was stock camera HDR in middle. On a standalone picture aesthetic I'd agree due to brightness but do note the HDR+ seemed more accurate in context of a store with no overhead lights on after midnight. Stock made it look like I was open lol.
In low light there is so much less noise with G Cam compared to other apps. Also with direct opposing sunlight I prefer the G Cam. Rest is handled better by LG Cam IMO.
I agree that the colors are not as vibrant with G Cam though.

I have s9 plus when i take photos indoor using live focus the result is very low resolution image. It takes excellent portrait using live focus outdoor. Please tell me is it normal or my new s9 plus secondary camera has problem??

Yes it happened to me as well. The focused object of LIVE PHOTO mode are washed out like using a low pixel toy camera. Probably it was caused by the aggressive noise reduction processing by the phone. WIDE ANGLE mode seems fine but CLOSE UP mode sucks. The quality are totally different with my girlfriend iPhone X (Potrait Mode).
I sent my phone to Samsung service center to check. As expected, they said nothing wrong with my phone... in fact it's normal wtf. Seriously not worth upgrade from my S8. Dear Sammy.. I want my money back!

Hello,
First of all, we glad that xiaomi produced this completed package phone with budget price.
Lets share our photos and videos experiences using this lovely device.
Currently the downside that I found in video is lack shooting 24fps video and Filmic Pro wont open.
Feel free to share your photos guys
The phone is capable of taking great pictures with the Stock Camera if you have good light conditions like you see in my sample shots. They were taken with the main camera and just point and shoot. No fiddling around in the pro menu. However in low light I would recommend using the Google Camera port. The results are night and day compared to the stock camera and also selfies come out better with the Google camera.

maybe it's some little hand movement while taking the shot, you should try to take a picture with the phone fixed so you see the real result.

I'm not a huge photographer. I really need the camera only for point and shoot scenarios and for that the cameras in this phone are more than enough. And for low light and selfies I just use Gcam.

That's actually impressive that a phone can capture that much details!! I wonder how it looks with Gcam.
GCam result look better for me, even the Night Mode. Stock cam sometimes abit blur/miss focus, dunno why... but with GCam, the contras is more stunning than the stock.
Pro mode stock app can take longer shutter speed than Moment Pro Camera app that i have.
anyone tries the video? Moment Pro Camera app video still cannot shoot 24fps, Filmic Pro cannot open the app.
Any idea why the phone doesn't support 4k60 Video? Because it can take 1080p240 Video which uses the same bandwidth .
What version and settings of Gcam are you guys using?

The IMX582 doesn't take 4K60 but only 30 frames. If you go full HD then 60 fps is ok. It is the snapdragon 730 that can't and it's the only difference with the pro version (snap 855)
Here are from my "Redmi K20"

MIUI Sky Filter can help changes dull sky to a blue sky ? awesome
FilmicPro team still working on issue for Mi9T, just got invitation beta tester, they say will update it soon.
Do you guys have autofocus issues while recording videos? Mine aren't smooth at all, few sporadic lags and a lot of "bounce" effect caused by the lense that fails to focus.

yes, autofocus was or maybe still is broken, especially in 60fps mode - not sure how it is now on stable roms, as am using betas.
4K video are nowhere at 30 fps, more around 20fps.
I can see that EIS is working at 4K res on 9.8.8 beta
Honestly my Pocophone is much better in video recording than Mi9T.
Still photo wise - I have made many nice shots with pocophone in past, not a single one as nice with Mi9T so far...
pro mode, 32seg expĆ³. beautiful night
Night mode stock cam.
