Hi
does anyone knows if the Z2 Tablet IR emitter is working or how to make it work?
Currently I wasn't able to find any IR App which is working on CM11.
Also I couldn't see any IR device in /dev...
I always thought IR is (quite) easy on linux and CM seems to support IR at all, so whats wrong?
Best,
mm

It works Today I used the "Remote Control" app which comes stock. It was able to control my Hitachi HDTV and even my WD TV Live streaming media player. It has to be pointed at the devices of course, but it works. (My model # is SGP561)
I don't know if any other apps can use it though. Haven't really playeed around with it much.

Hmmm are you sure? My question was about IR on Cyanogenmod 11. I guess you are on stock ROM, right?
On stock ROM the Sony App is unbeatable in fact, but unfortunately it does not work on any customrom.

Oh, I see. I think I missed that. So are you missing the APK file, or are you missing the folder?
If it's the APK file: is there any way to extract a stock rom as an APK file? If so, I wouldn't mind extracting a copy for you so you can see if it works, but I only know how to extract APK files from the Play Store.
Otherwise, what if you tried just copying the missing folder over from a stock ROM?
Or maybe it's something that was lost with the DRM keys?
Oh, it's not the problem of an missing apk. I've backups of them, of course, but they would not work on custom roms. Since I like the freedom of CM more than the functionally of the stock Z2 Rom I use CM on all of my devices. But I'm always in hope that someone has a hint or even a solution on this issue of the Z2 tablet Android and CM has an IR API so it's a missing driver and Sony just released the kernel sources of the Zz2 so there is hope that someone has an idea...
Yeah, the only reason I'm not going for a custom rom is because the loss of DRM keys result in the loss of core functionality. I really hope that someone manages to figure out how to take all of those official apps and put them into a custom firmware where the DRM keys don't matter anymore.
Any updates on this? I have the exact same issue, a Z2 tablet with CM11 and I can't find any apps to work with the IR
Well, the z2 is quite old right now. I don't even think about it, sorry. Take an recent Sony ROM, root it and bebhappy with what you have... Beleive me, after some years being very disappointed with a WinCE phone from Sony I bought the Z2. It is quite good but next time I'll buy a Nexus.
Hi guys,
I don't know why, but now I have marshmallow and I can only use the camera app from samsung. I tried to use framelapse for timelapses and cinema 4k for manual focus while filming and it doesn't work...
When I had lollipop everything was fine... I'm the only one who got this problem ?
Go into application manager and open the app your trying to use, change the permissions to allow camera use. Not all apps are up to date with MM
I already done that before using the app.... And it's the same...
Hi guys I've upgraded my s3 I-9300 according to this tutorial:
root + boot
https://youtu.be/HYIR39M3Em4?list=PLvbMHFZVf90QQAByay7SBN0eLZdOSXJmM
marshmallow
https://youtu.be/cGFfCXZ5nUY?list=PLvbMHFZVf90QQAByay7SBN0eLZdOSXJmM
My current setup looks like this:
device model gt-i9300
android version 6.0.1
CyanogenMod version
13.0.-20151227-Nightly-i9300
Issues that I have:
1. Lost my FM air default app..next radio from google play does not want to install on this device. I've found on xda forum a link for an extract apk for the default fm radio but it does not want to install on current android version(http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....apk?key=zxv2uwMBbwB21YCn4McVcw&ts=1465894636)
How can I restore this app... I don;t want to use mobile data for a free service for which my phone has the chip for it. When I had android 4.3 all worked fine
2. Can't make google camera to fully work on s3.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-3-2-045-release/ - crashes on all options
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-2-5-044-release/ - works but crashes on sphere option in which I am actually interested in to take 360 photos.
Any advice?

Parrot043 have made incredible ported Gcam for version 7.0.009 for Xiaomi device mostly but as we know Zenfone Max Pro M1 is stock Android phone so Gcam will work the best and less issue other than phone with Ui like MiUi,OxygenOS,One Ui, and others.
Also Astrophotography is present but wont work well as it needed powerful cpu better than Sd670..So Sd636 or Sd660 not working well..It does take astrophoto but with lot of digital noise.
Note: Camera2 API must be enable to full(level 3) to install Gcam.

Night mode doesn't work on 7.xx versions for me, it gets stuck, freeze, or unable to take photo. Everything else works fine though. I'm on pie, 4gb ram and 64gb storage.

Gcam 7.0 is for Pie only and if you have Android Q please use Gcam 7.2..
One more things, Gcam only works best with AOSP based rom like Stock Rom, LineageOs, OxygenOs, and other..Check Derpfest if it AOSP based or not.

On stock rom?.Before install new Gcam please uninstall other Gcam, clear cache and data and make sure available space is at least 2GB internal..and make sure camera2 Api is enabled to full.
gcam v7 isn't stable on my phone, sometimes freezes in night mode when take capture, but sometimes it can be normal by moving to the front camera and back, but it's very annoying. finally I downgraded to v6 because it's normal there.
im on cusrom ion os pie x00td 3/32, unlock cam2api, free internal 8GB+, free ram 1GB++
Force closing automatically after starting the app! Running Android pie 6gb/64gb indian model
