Incremental OTAs with Twrp and unlocked BL?? - Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Questions & Answers

Is there any way to apply an incremental OTA with the current Twrp for Mi Pad 4? Or with another twrp?
On Xiaomi Mi5s with ZCX Twrp incremental OTAs work just fine.

[SD] How can I have Global Developer 6.10.13 (MIUI8) with TWRP and Root?

Hello
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro [Qualcomm]
I tried installing TWRP on my phone and my phone now won't boot, it stays on Mi logo
I have done these:
1) I installed Global Developer 6.10.13 [I did it from the phone's update menu when I was on a custom ROM]
2) Global Developer ROM got installed just fine, it was working flawlessly but bootloader was relocked
3) I unlocked the bootloader using Mi Unlock tool (official way, with my Mi Account)
4) I installed TWRP Recovery from this site
http://forum.xda-developers.com/red...official-twrp-3-0-2-0-recovery-redmi-t3352966
5) When I launched TWRP it asked for a decryption password, I tried my pins and Mi Account password and I did a factory reset
Now my phone is stuck at Mi Logo
What do I have to do now?
I just want TWRP and Root with Global Developer nothing more.
The MIUI MM ROMs have inbuilt data encryption. That's why official TWRP asks for that decryption password. Do this -
Boot into fastboot mode. Flash this TWRP. This has inbuilt support for data decryption as well as dm-verity disabling plus it can root your MIUI too. Go ahead and try this one.
Thanks! That fixed things!
Glad to be of help.

Discussion: OTA vs Full ROM

Just wanted to post my experience with the recent ota.
Yesterday I received Ota notification for 8.1.2.0 on Global stable mi5
The setup of my mi5 was global stable 8.0.5.0 with systemless supersu n suhide + official twrp
It failed to install couple of times. I tried to open to open the Ota zip, but it was encrypted.
Offical twrp couldn't flash it.
So googled for twrp with miui Ota support.
I found zcx twrp for mi5. It has the feature that supports reboot from updater app to flash Ota.
It failed again but now I can see the failure log in twrp. It was boot size mismatch.
Aah! Xiaomi now checking boot also while flashing Ota.
Left the whole Ota business and downloaded the full ROM and checked it's update script, no checks there! Cool.
Flashed it in twrp, peace of mind.
Whole thing done in 10 mins.
Rooted back again.
Suggestion: don't use incremental Ota unless you have nothing touched in the phone. Better go for full ROM.
But not everybody can afford to download full ROM.
Does anybody know how to decrypt Ota zip? Then atleast I can modify the update script to make it work

Sensors and sim not working after flashing superSU?

I have a xiaomi mi5 with the latest(7.10.19) xiaomi.eu rom. My bootloader is unlocked and i have TWRP as recovery.
I flashed a superSU pack via twrp (i can't post, i don't have 10 posts yet). My sim is not working and all the sensors on my phone doesn't work as well. Any fix?

I installed TWRP and Magisk, and I received OTA update, but with custom recovery, the phone can't install it, (it just reboots to TWRP when you press update).
I've read that you can install updates via TWRP but I am not sure from where to download the updates as currently, the official Xiaomi page is down, I presume because of the MIUI 10 update...
You can re-install the stock recovery and maybe unroot the phone and then try again, at least that's what i've read on other forums, but didn't test it myself yet.

Yes, although we still receive OTA update package from MIUI host, we can't update OTA with TWRP recovery for rosy at present. TWRP hasn't supported ota incremental update zips yet. We need some one can build RedWolf Recovery for rosy to have OTA incremental update supported
Yes u will receive update but u have to flash it via TWRP

[ROOT] Redmi note 9 pro max without TWRP

Pre-Requirements:
Supported for: Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (Phoenixin) Indian variant only. The device should be running on stock ROM to apply the update. though the guide is universal for all Redmi Note 9 Pro Max phones but the links are for Indian variant only. DO NOT use on different ROM,, For other Varients use this guide but with specific ROM for your device variant.
Requires: A PC/Laptop and a USB cable. (use only the cable that came in box)
Charge: Keep your device charged more than 50%.
Steps :
1. Download MIUI V11.0.4.0.QJXINXM – Recovery ROM | OTA ROM (official link from xiaomi website for Indian varienat)
2. Mi Flash Tool – Download and Install it on your PC (required to unlock bootloader, which we will not discuss here)
3. Download ADB and Fastboot Tools on your computer
4. Download Xiaomi USB Drivers and install it on the PC
5. update or install the latest MIUI version on your Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (Phoenixin) successfully. Feel free to ask in the comments below for any queries. Current version at time of post is V11.0.4.0.QJXINXM (link above). Make sure the model of your phone and the installed firmware EXACTLY match what you're downloading. If they don't, it may not work correctly.
6. Install Magisk Manager (.apk) on your phone from the official Magisk repository.
7. Extract boot.img (about 132MB) from the official ROM zip you downloaded and transfer it to the phone. Click "install" in Magisk Manager and point it to boot.img. This should result in a patched magisk_patched.img (about 16MB - padding was removed), transfer this file to your computer. Ideally to the Mi Unlock folder where fastboot.exe is located.
8. Reboot your phone to fastboot recovery mode. Open a command prompt in the folder of the Mi Unlock tool and run
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
This flashes the patched Magisk-enabled bootloader to your phone.
9. Reboot the phone and that's it! Verify root status in the Magisk Manager app.

I think you'll still get OTA update but once you update the phone will loose root. So Don't worry about OTA update because you can always download the latest firmware posted on Xiaomi website. Root, install Xposed. Install xposed modules like Gravitybox, MiUi 8 Tweaks, Boot manager and you'll never think again of OTA because so much of customizations and performance improvements you can do on your own with these modules.
PS: Not all OTAs are good. Don't depend much on OTAs because some device manufacturers push OTA to make your device work bad and so you'll buy new phone.
Can any user of Redmi Note 9 Pro Max confirm that you have rooted successfully? please
anyone successfully unlocked redmi note 9 pro max bootloader, currently the official tool is showing to wait 360hours,any other ways to unlock
