relock with MIUI 10 Global Beta installed?

@smokin901 @AkkiV
-When unlocking, does the hard reset occur? (factory reset, or reset data)
No, unlike unlocking HTC, Motorola ... unlocking occurs without loss of data but if the data on the phone is encrypted, you must first disable the encryption, otherwise the data will be lost. Then unblock and you can turn on encryption again. Exceptions are Mi6, Mi Note 3, Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix 2s. They have a complete discharge. And it looks like this trend applies to all fresh models.

Does this apply after relocking?
It is better to opt for encryption since in Mi devices unlock won't erase my personal data...?

For example Mi 8 Chinese Ver. if you want to relocking bootloader from Chinese Vers. you have to flash Chinese ROM, if you flash Global ROM in Chinese Ver. device, you may brick your device.

So does that mean we can claim warranty again after relocking bootloader?

Apparently we can with unlocked bootloader...

You can claim warranty with bootloader unlocked, TWRP installed, rooted and with custom ROM. Water damage will result in no warranty.

AFAIK, warranty for Xiaomi devices remains intact even if you unlock the bootloader.

Obviously you can lick your Bootloader if YOU'RE ON THE STOCK ROM.
You can flash the stock rom with fastboot and select
Clean flash and lock
And your Bootloader will be locked.

Why do you want to lock? It is better to remain unlocked once you have unlocked. In the event of you deciding to flash a custom ROM, you have to unlock again and your data partition will be wiped.

Dirty flash your stock ROM through the Mi Flash Tool. There is an option to lock the bootloader.

[Q] Lost fastboot and bootloader locked

Hi,
I was in stock IO limited 3.1 and flashed Task 7.1 first and Overcome ROM (latest) to give it a try.
After Overcome I realized that I had no longer access to fastboot option in bootloader, only revocery and odin. I think the problem came here:
http://p7510.teamovercome.net/?page_id=18
http://p7510.teamovercome.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/odin2.png
Also I lost nvflash posibility, getting rmc 0x4 error all the time (guess it is locked)
Is there anyway to get fastboot back? or to unlock bootloader so I can get trough nvflash?
Now I am trying this threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119492
But cannot get fastboot or nvflash to work
Thanks in advance
i will be waiting for an answer as well. My bootloader was locked by the touchwiz update

Relocking Bootloader V20j?

To relock the bootloader follow the following instructions:
Put your phone under the fastboot mode
enter the following commands: fastboot oem lock
Keep in mind that while your boot-loader is locked, you will not be able to root or flash ROMs to your phone.

Thanks. Yes I can unlock the bootloader again to gain root but I have read in unlock thread guide that relocking might have unknown results. Have you or anyone else tried relocking personally?

You should not re-lock you bootloader if you have root but if you are going to trade in your phone or sell it then you should definitely re-lock your bootloader after you flash a stock ROM.
Bump..... Anyone successfully relocked bootloader without any error and got rid of unlocked bootloader at startup?

CanĀ“t unlock Bootloader

Hello,
situation ist this:
Cyanogen Recovery is installed and there is no rom on the phone. But it won't install a new one through apply update. So I tried installing twrp through fast boot. But it failed with:
FAILED (remote: Device not unlocked cannot flash or erase)
So i tried to unlock it which gave me:
FAILED (remote: oem unlock is disabled)
oem devices gave me tampered = false and unlocked = false
What can I do.
Would appreciate help
Morishno
Flash stock recovery and try unlock again.
Dumb Question but how exactly do I do that?
Just flash it via fast boot? And where do i get it?

You dont need to be sorry, thats okay i jus asked... Maybe OP didnt enable oem unlocking.
I didnt enable oem unlocking because it wasnt necessary. The device was unlocked and twrp and cyanogenmod were installed. But somehow cyanogen recovery was installed. Super user was away and I tried to reinstall it. Not knowing the recovery had changed I chose twrp/cwm to install it what resulted in a boot loop. No problem I thought just flash a ROM which didn't worked. No problem just flash a proper recovery it didn't worked. And somehow the device is locked again..
Sorry I was little brief when I said flash stock recovery. I believe if you revert back completely stock you can start the process from the beginning again. That would mean fastboot flash stock recovery then any firmware of OnePlus X. I'm not sure how a bootloader can relock itself.

Found a hard brick guide. You mean that?
So I just remembered something was able to help someone else with a similar issue. If you can boot Into something and your rooted download the app Rashr. With it you can flash stock recovery and be back in business.
The problem is i dont have anything to Boot
//UPDATE: So I tried booting with fastboot boot but it said cannot boot device isn't unlocked.
Edited
So i managed to save the Phone using the Hard Brick Guide. Thanks everyone!
Thank goodness for the hard brick guide. ?

P20 lite unlocked bootloop

Hello guys I'm trying to save my bricked P20 Lite but I am running into some issues. I unlocked the bootloader using testpoint but twrp won't flash or boot. Flashing gives me a flash write failure, booting gives me a invalid command error and I can't wipe cache either. I could really use your help.

"flash write failure" - it might be due to a locked bootloader or hardware issue, AFAIK.
Try explaining what exactly happened, step by step.

Are you sure that bootloader is unlocked? (With unlocked BL you will see that message each time when you reboot: "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted").
Have you enabled in Developer menu
"OEM unlock" ?
In fastboot mode run commands :
fastboot oem get-build-number
fastboot oem get-product-model
fastboot getvar vendorcountry
fastboot oem oeminforead-CUSTOM_VERSION
fastboot oem oeminforead-SYSTEM_VERSION
and post the results.

1. Yes I do get that message that it's unlocked.
2. My device is bricked so that's impossible to enable. I unlocked it after it started bootlooping.
3. Gonna do those commands and tell the results

Probably your emmc memory is fried. Not being able to unlock BL & FRP permanently is a sure sign. But I'm just an amateur and an android fan, maybe I'm wrong.

P.S.: since January are you trying unbrick a water damaged phone?

How to relock bootloader & what are the essentials I need to do before relocking?

Some saying that relocking the bootloader while in custom recovery state will cause bootloop. What's the exact procedure should I need to follow to have a relocked bootloader for RN9P? I heard that I should flash stock firmware from MiFlashTool using "Flash all and lock" option. Does it work or did it worked for anyone?
