Some people might be wondering how to swap the button as its different from the previous MIUI I've used.
It's located in full display>mirror button setting rather than navigation button on other MIUI.

Hello everyone have completely altered the post as I now seem to know what am talking about am after a mod, that will enable the back button to be long pressed, to close the currently opened app, this is a feature found on the miui roms.
I havent really seen anyone do or suggest this, but for those making roms for the HTC One series, could you re-re-map the hardware buttons so that the recent apps button pulls up the recent apps (normal ics behavior), and then a long press on the recent apps button maps to the menu button?
My reasoning, is eventually, the "menu" button is something that will get obsoleted, so mapping it as a secondary action (i.e. long press) is a better approach than the current mapping on some of the Roms out there (like cm9). Personally, I'm not a fan of long-presses, so I prefer it for functions I hardly use (like menu).
As for the Gs3, I recommend mapping the 'menu' button to the 'recent apps', and a long press to the menu function (instead of long pressing the home button for recent apps). Again, my reasoning is, when the menu button, eventually gets obsoleted, it becomes pointless having the physical menu button do nothing.
Anyway, just my 2 cents...
Bump.
What I know is that single click functionality of any button can be changed by editing system/usr/keylayout/something_keypad.kl
But long press is not related to button remapping... So it needs to be changed from somewhere else and about that I have no idea..

Does anyone use pie controls with their GS4? I am going to try it, or remap some of the hardware buttons. I am thinking changing the menu button to the recent apps, and changing the long press home button to open google search. At least this way it would be kind of like a Nexus device. Does anyone else remap their hardware buttons?

Click to collapse
First time I tried pie controls, I really didn't like them. But I flashed PAC last week, and I kind of like them now. I don't like the idea of nav buttons taking up screen real estate, and I want a one-click recents option. So I've been using them for about a week, and it's not bad. Finding a good trigger area is a bit tricky, though.
Hello, I just bought Mi5 with global 7.2.4.0 rom, and I don't see option to change navigation button placement - I want my left button to be back button, and right button to be tray button. There's guide to do it, but I dont have this option in my buttons menu. Why?

My favourite function of using three in screen buttons is double tapping the Recent Apps button which takes me to the most recent previous app.
Is something similar possible with the single button control without on screen buttons?
