LineageOs 15.1 (version-date 2018-07-24)
TWRP 3.2.3
Hello,
I have been updating LineageOs regularly since version 14.1 using TWRP. For some time, however, I have received error messages, most recently these (while copying Recovery.log):
/ data could not be mounted and cryptographic signature was not found.
'data /' could not be mounted (Invalid argument)
Folder / data / media can not be restored.
Partition information is updated ...
'/ data' could not be mounted (Invalid argument)
... Finished
Can not mount storage
/ data could not be mounted (Invalid argument)
Full SELinux support is available.
Can not mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
MTP enabled
'data /' could not be mounted (Invalid argument)
Recovery log was copied to /data/media/recovery.log

I also get these messages about mounting-problems when updating LineageOS. Can anybody tell me, what's wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks and greetings
Herbert

Hello,
First of all, my english isn't very good.
Ok, I have a huge problem with my lenovo k3 note, I was listening to music yesterday and suddenly it stopped. I tried to unlock, restart itp but nothing. Finally I took off the battery and they restarted the phone, it stopped on Lenovo bootloader, so again battery, restart and this time I went to TWRP recovery. I wanted to restore one of my backups, but there is no backups, internal storage is 0mb, I can't do factory reset, I can't install any zip, nothing. Windows 10 sees just external SD card, no intenal memory.
Entering TWRP makes errors in console like this:
E: Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to mount '/protect_f'
E: Unable to mount '/protect_s'
E: Unable to mount '/cache'
E: Unable to mount '/data'
...done
E: Unable to mount storage.
E: Unable to mount /data/media during GUI startup.
and some more "unable to mount /data".
So I tried to flash original rom with sp flash tool, but on my last rom (MIUI 7 custom) I didn't enable USB debbuging. Every stable ROM or flash tool version I try, every time and the end there is BROM ERROR: S_CHCKSUM_ERROR (1041) and if I boot my phone after such flash it stops on bootloader and in TWRP still internal storage 0mb. I've tried do sth with adb but it doesn't detect my phone, flash tool works though.
I don't know what to do, please guys help me! It's my first android phone and rooting a phone and recovery was a challenge (just installing roms from twrp is very easy) and I really need your help, so please help me.
Thanks in advance and have a good day!
lenovo k3 error 1041
did you solved the problem with lenovo k3? i have the same problem
hi guys ,
I'm using yu yuphoria which was running on lineage os 13.0 official nightly.
When I unlocked my phone tried to open playstore then suddenly many app were unfortunately stopping.
So I restarted my phone and after booting a message came that encryption problem and have to factory reset the phone.
So i wanted to recover my data in internal storage so booted to recovery (twrp) and then tried to do system reset, then an error came quoting
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Formatting cache using make_ext4fs...
Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument)
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid argument)
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument)
...done
Unable to mount storage
I tried to flash the stock rom using command but the flashing process will complete but the phone wont boot up and twrp recovery isn't going anywhere.
I also tried to change the file type in advance wipe to ext4, fat, exfat......
nothing worked so please give me a solution guys.:crying:
thank you in advance.

Hello, I have this problem where TWRP is not able to mount /data, although the device still works without any other problems. This is preventing me to install XPosed, unfortunately. I have a custom ROM installed, although I can flash stock temporarily if required.
I've done an extensive Google search for this, and all the methods didn't help at all. TWRP can't repair nor reformat the data partition.
Here's the full log:
Code:
[COLOR="Red"]Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
Failed to mount '/data' (No such device)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.[/COLOR]
Updating partition details...
[COLOR="red"]Failed to mount '/data' (No such device)
Failed to mount '/preload' (Invalid argument)[/COLOR]
...done
Full SELinux support is present.
[COLOR="Red"]Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps[/COLOR]
I'm running TWRP 3.0.2-1.
Thank you for your help.

have you checked your twrp recoverys fstab?
Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk
I looked into the TWRP fstab, and noticed that the partition types didn't match, so I formatted the partition with the correct type and reflashed the ROM, and now everything is going smoothly. Thanks!
I have a Nexus 2013 Wifi Tablet.
I found a rooting tutorial specifically for that model. I had installed a version of TWRP from a link included in that tutorial. However, when running recovery mode, the tablet was stuck in the TWRP splash screen for over 5 minutes. I then googled for a new version of TWRP and installed it. However, it displays the following text then continually boots:
Count not mount /data and unable find crypto footer.
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
...Done
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Full SELinux support is present
Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps

I had found a tutorial to remove TWRP and then reinstall Android but I can't get a ADB connection as it now says:
error: device '(null)' not found
Click to collapse
The device is connected as I've verified it connection via lsub on Linux and it shows in Device Manager in Windows.
I did some more tinkering. I have the phone in Recovery mode and tried the following
fastboot devices
Click to collapse
I got the following output:
no permissions fastboot
Click to collapse
i also tried
fastboot device
Click to collapse
But got the following output
< waiting for device >
Click to collapse
Then nothing happens.
After update realme 3 pro wifi not working. And twrp installing rom,
Its shows updating partition error
Failed to mount. '/persist' (invalid argument) can anyone help me out this problem.
