We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Install Instructions:
Flash the newest factory image
Move your ROM + GApps + TWRP.zip to your internal storage
Boot the TWRP.img ->Wipe Data, Cache, & System -> Flash the ROM as well as the TWRP.zip
Reboot to recovery via TWRP (Reboot -> Recovery)
Flash GApps -> Reboot to System -> Enjoy CarbonROM

It does. And the Rom is quite stable too.
I've been on this ROM since it launched for pixel XL, and I must say it's been super stable with great battery life. Using flash kernel, rock solid and super stable with great features. I highly recommend
@shagbag913 is there any way that you could incorporate the phone feature to block private unknown and selected collars into this ROM? There is another rom in the pixel XL forums that has this in the ROM when no other one has it. I tried to get it by taking blockedcontactsprovider.apk from that rom into another but didn't get those settings to come up.

October update?

It's only October 3rd, give the dev more than 2 days before asking about updates.
October updates will be available after they get merged into the CarbonROM org. All sources have been transfered to CarbonROM's github now, instead of CarbonBeta, FYI.
Awesome thanks bud!
Eagerly waiting...
I went ahead and compiled just the kernel... since it addresses the charging issues (see here) that some Pixel users have been experiencing. Remember; this is literally just the stock kernel - but built with clang 6.0.2, and upstreamed (and a few other things I can't think of), so if you're on a different kernel that already has October patches merged in, don't bother flashing this.
Just flash it like any other kernel, it will preserve magisk. Some other changes that are included (which will be included in the next CarbonROM update):
# Upstreamed to 3.18.123
# merged in October security patches
# Set the kernel name to CarbonROM
# Disabled EFI (We don't use it anyways)
# Compiled out temperature polling
# Removed KCAL; this was never even enabled in the defconfig, so there was no point in having it.
Here's the download link
CarbonROM with October security patches are now available, here. This also includes a fix for the developer options FC when not using English.
To update:
Boot into TWRP ->Wipe Cache & System -> Flash the ROM as well as the TWRP.zip
Reboot to recovery via TWRP (Reboot -> Recovery)
Flash new vendor.img -> Flash GApps -> Reboot to System -> Enjoy CarbonROM
This months radio image is the same, however the bootloader is not. I would recommend flashing it.
You can find the new vendor image and bootloader image at this link.

About
MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.
A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Like most contributors of open source projects (Omni, CyanogenMod, Slim AOSPA etc), we are doing all these in our free time as our passion…
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development (maintain new devices, contribute code etc). Newcomers are always welcomed!
Read here for developer application: http://www.mfunz.com/en/developer-application, you can host your unofficial MoKee builds on our server!
Features: (I will mention only that which does not take into CyanogenMod)
Listview animation
Interpolation anmação listview
Update over the air can download the download website only incremental, it helps lower faster update and upgrade more easily:
Some icons and own layouts
Manager for Google services, so no need to use a large gapps, you can only download necessary at MokeeCenter
Ringtones, Alarms, Notification, UI sounds are all different CyanogenMod, thus bringing a beautiful charm to rom
bootianimation own
information integrated into MokeeCenter
Settings to add speed data network
Settings for navigation bar
Settings for Statusbar
Intelligent control settings to configure the newer apps and others.

What is the difference?
RELEASE: Tested after integrating new features, more stable than NIGHTLY. (Odexed builds)
NIGHTLY: Built daily with newest code and experimental features, might contain undiscovered bugs. (Deodexded builds)
HISTORY: Final odexded builds once a newer Android version is out and being built.
EXPERIMENTAL: Released when a new device is added or when a new feature is added for public beta testing and feedback. (Deodexded builds)
UNOFFICIAL: Maintained separately by individual developers, usually involves modification of shared code which cannot be merged (affects other devices), therefore maintained by the developer himself.
Note: We always test the shared code for bugs, however sometimes we may not be able to detect device specific bugs. If you have such issues, it will be better to report to the device maintainer.
Changelog:
Here
Gapps recommended
http://opengapps.org/
Installation mode :
To install the clean rom:
Download the rom
enters recovery
make all wipes (all)
choose zip from rom and install
you can use a gapps any of its taste since it is for android 7.1
or you can go MokeeCenter after starting rom, there you can download the small gapps integrated into the system and have a lighter and clean rom.
To install upgrade:
Method 1:
just download the complete package via OTA
enter the recovery
only to wipe cache and dalvik (optional, I do not)
install the complete package downloaded via OTA
Method 2:
Download the complete package over the air and go on to install update
let install automatically for you
Method 3:
Download only incremental updates
for that you need to donate 30 CNY for the team to release the feature on the device directly
But you can do this update without donation
just go on the site and click below build itself where it is written (upgrade: OTA to MK ...)
there will be the incremental free for you, this will save on your data package or in your spare time.
Big Thanks @martincz for development

I just said that the bugs that this rom contains are the same as cyanogenmod, since it is based on CM.
If your cm14.1 does not have any bug, consider this bug free rom too.
Hi i updated from the Mokee center and the phone wouldn't boot since installing. So I reflashed in twrp 3.0.2 and still wouldn't boot up to the rom. So i wiped, still no bootup. Then i wiped the entire device including data and now no matter what rom I use I cant use any roms? WHat can I do to fix this annoying issue

I had to fastboot flash stock to get back up and running. Clean flashing anything in twrp always resulted in booting into twrp. On the other thread. It someone said to boot into bootloader then start device. Should boot into ROM I guess

I see what your saying yes I did the same. After many flash attempts I believe my source is the culprit behind the misflashes
Do you know where the flash stock for 6.1.xx is? I am using the Android 7.0 NBD90Z (the bad source) and the only 7.0 or above rom I could flash is Nitrogen. Took me two damn days to figure this out. After all the reinstalling nbd90z rooting and trying different roms.
Be aware to whoever is reading this. Even after backing up I could not reflash the backup without being rejected back into twrp. This was a major headache to figure out
I need a clean source for Nougat as well..... if anyone could help me out. Greatly appreciated

Is this ROM still in testing? And I tread that were supposed to have latest stock 8.1 build.. what's that supposed to mean?? I'm running RR Mod rn.. and I really wanna try carbon.. any help??
ROM is running very smooth! And it seems like it's the first one which doesn't push the cores of the G5 to 2GHz all the time so battery consumption is pretty low.
I had some crashes in the beginning after restoring APPs from Titanium Backup but by now no further issues. Camera is okay but could be better (crashes from time to time, 'Open Camera' is doing quite well!). But I guess this is due to the fact that Motorola hasn't released Oreo yet and some parts for building the camera parts properly.
- Magisk v16 works fine (had to install it twice but then worked)
- BT working
- ext. LTE support (can't test VolTE cause I don't have it)
- Safetynet passes
- SD Card access working
@rrajesh011, @vache - you did a very descent job! By now it's the best Oreo ROM I've tested.

We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.

nope
What statusbar mods are in this ROM? I personally prefer center clock. Is this included in the ROM? And how about switching the navigation buttons? And the last question, what camera app/mod is included?
Nice and smooth rom, fp unlock is as quick as OOS, just running on default kernel but will install blu_spark, battery time is ok atm but too early to say for sure, no problems in installation, magisk 16.4, decrypted, all in all awesome job, thanks to op, keep up the good work, cheers.

Very nice.:fingers-crossed:
really fast and nice, flashed yesterday.
The only thing I really miss a lot is the reverse navbar layout, does anyone know if there is a way to reverse it with app/mod/magisk ?

I did search about this but didn't find any app or magisk module. But I did find a solution.
Enable Usb debugging
Connect to computer
In adb command window, type the following :
adb shell
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,space"
Reboot your phone
This should work, it worked for me

Its working absolutely fine with no problems, battery life is just right not brilliant but thats the case with every lineage/aosp based rom but deep sleep seems to be better than the stock kernel, hope this helps, cheers.

Initial impressions : Gotta love the stability! No significant issues encountered except 1 :
Safetynet isn't passing because ctsprofile shows failed. Could someone help with that? MagisHide props results in bootloop.
Any help would be appreciated!
Please add installation instructions and other related zips.
I am switching from a pie based custom rom and I honestly have no idea what gapps, twrp, no verity, magisk and firmware to use.

If anyone is using this rom without any hiccups, maybe you would like to redirect me to these zips already available on the web.
Also, pls add details about what is working and what isn't, known bugs etc.

Instructions are on the first post.
Coming from pie, full wipe and data format is advisable.
- Full wipe
- format data (advisable)
- flash ROM
- flash no verity v4 if you want to stay decrypted
- flash gapps (I use opengapps 10.0 nano)
- flash magisk if you want root and several mods
Reboot

Thanks.
Just a quick question, are there any major bugs, like volte, fp or voice calls? I want to use this as a daily driver and couldn't find anything in the op.

I cannot give a straight answer on that.. on every ROM I've tried everyone has an issue with fp, or reception, or microphone, or sim card not recgnizing, etc etc, and I've never had any issue with any Android 10 ROM... I don't know if my 5t is from a different batch, or what's different from the others or something...
