For your experience, as the title says, what is the best custom-rom-miui based and why?
with all the bricked phones and these ARB implementation, xiaomi phones become less and less developer friendly.
Personally I never tried any of these roms and still staying with the official global rom

It's not Xiaomi who brick their devices, it's the users who don't read or follow instructions and don't know what they do.

But xiaomi added new security policies without even informing customers, till now it's confusing...
It's sad for people who have had their phones bricked, it's not their fault, they may have had read all the instructions available but no one could have guess this ARB stuff.

and the posted roms, doesnt always have complete instruction and warnings. but some are kind enough to post a guide.
I am using miui 10 8.8.31 and I am satisfied with it. cheers guys

I think you misunderstand. This kernel only allows you to be able to make changes to /system while booted into android. It does nothing more than that

Gonna need S-Off to be able to flash the modified firmware to do that I believe. Nothing to do with the kernel at all.

Well this is pretty much useless now that @flar2 released his kernel. It was just to hold people over till then. So im really no interested in wasting any time on it. I will step aside for the kernel gurus......

My I-JOY TAB7-004 tablet get stuck in a boot loop. And no root, no CWR, TPWR, anything, no os, just Android System Recovery <3e>, but when i do wipe data / factory reset, it rest in a boot loop. So, what can i do now ?

Some quick tips :
STEP 1 ) Find a specific section or forums,posts,threads describing the same or similar problem that you're facing or offers support for your device eg: Service Centre or Forums for that particular brand.
For eg : i can understand your situation but can't help you because i am not familiar with your device.
I am facing a similar problem with my Moto G and some folks in this forum have helped a lot - by their posts,by PM and by replying to my thread,going through my situation.
So you must find people on the internet who :
a)Know your device and how to deal with it - Device Experts.
b)Android experts who know what to do in a general situation like this - Subject Matter experts.
STEP 2)See if it's possible for you to get stock firmware files (original ones,tested by other users preferred) and trying flashing those.
STEP 3)Keep searching and try tested things.There's always a solution in most cases.

The main issue with these no name devices is that they almost never release stock rom packages. You may not be able to find it ever.

It is certainly possible. All developers started as a beginner, and although it is not easy, it can be done with time and dedication.

I already tried that with AOSP 8.1.0 ROM but it wasn't getting installed at all..Which rom you're in? And please link me to that apk

I tried to manually install it.

Nothing to take it as serious ...If you have this working you can share the info so that would be helpful for others yo use the same ...Or if it's not we can go with that ..All we need some developer support as this port of portrait camera from pixel devices not restricted with hardware ...
I tried installing a couple of apk's from that post too without success.. So i'm going to try flashing the zip to see if i can get it working.
Guys it's waste of time.
Main requirement of all those Gcam mods to work is "Camera2Api". Our device doesn't have support to full Camera2Api so those apks will never work on any 8.1 rom. And I guess we will never get full or legacy support to Camera2Api having a 32 bit processor.
By some random flashing don't risk in a bootloop. Even if some Gcam mod apk installs successfully on any OPX, it will never work and keep crashing due to absence of Camera2Api.
I still haven't done so, but I did read that you can install a magisk module to have Camera2API support.. After all I'm gonna try, the worst case would be a bootloop but I already did a backup so I'll be telling you if I get something.
