Hi guys, I've got (unfortunately) a branded P20 lite (c55) wich doesn't at all receive updates like other unbranded phones do, so I'd want to install the c432 firmware to it so I can get the latest updates. Is it possible without unlocking the bootloader? If yes, does my warranty get void?

I have got a UK vodafone x10i, and the question is if i root my phone and flash a new original 2.1 rom, will it be unlocked?
And where i can find original 2.1 rom?
Im not 100% sure, but I think it's not possible to unlock it.
You have to buy a unlock key :S
Hi guys I have just bought a Motorloa Atrix off ebay that comes unlocked but it is the UK orange model. I have a couple of questions regarding the firmware.
1. Do I have to use the Orange firmware updates if I want to officialy update the phone (for example when the gingerbread update comes out)
2. If it is the case that I do have to use the Orange firmware will it then re-lock my phone back to orange.
3. Is there any way of me installing a debranded firmware on the the phone without bricking it?
Any help would be much appreciated.

1. Yes you do!
2.No it will not!
3. Of course there is! Check my thread to Unlock your bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423
Then head over to the atrix developer forum and choose a ROM to download. I personally recommend Aura or Darkside for starters. But if you like stock android without the Motorola stuff Cyanogenmod is great!
Hi,
I've seen a few threads here about flashing unbranded firmware, I have a Telstra branded (Australian) Z5C . I want to know if I can use the flashtool to flash an unbranded firmware WITHOUT unlocking my bootloader or voiding my warranty in any way. Can someone confirm that I can do this?
Long story short I don't want to wait for Telstra to "optimise" Marshmallow for 6 months before I get the update. I would like to be able to get it as soon as sony releases it.
Any help appreciated, Cheers.
You don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash an official firmware. Plus, if you want warranty, you can flash back the telstra firmware when needed
Hi everyone,
I want to buy an Xperia X. The version I would buy (F5121) is branded by an Italian carrier (TIM). Could I install an unbranded stock rom on it ? Do I need do unlock the bootloader or something, voiding the warranty? I'm asking because I would like to receive software updates as soon as possible.
Thanks everyone.
You can use flashtool to flash any stock rom you want. No need to unlock bootloader so you wont void warranty

In case of problems in the future, could I bring the device directly to sony with the unbranded firmware (FULL STOCK, NO ROOT AND LOCKED BOOTLOADER) or do I have to revert it to the original stock branded firmware? I'm afraid that thay could maybe refuse my warranty.
Thanks

Hi there,
I've got myself a XZ1 which is currently locked to the EE network within the UK. If I flash to the latest generic UK/European firmware, would the phone then pick up the OTA updates as Sony make them available rather than having to wait for EE to release them? Also am I correct in thinking the network lock won't cause any issues, but the phone will remain locked to EE after the generic firmware has been applied?
Thanks
Kev
