Kali Linux NetHunter - ZTE Axon 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

I am no means a developer, but I've always been interested in network penetration testing. I used the version created for our phone that is based on nougat and discontinued now. I was wondering if someone could help me build an updated version of it? A stable Oreo would be great.

There is a Magisk module that installs Kali Nethunter in any device. You can install it from the Magisk Manager Download section. Let us know if it works fine for you!

He is working on it. There are major bugs in it. He will update it as soon as he make any further progress. Also it's his daily driver so don't expect any quick fixes.
Keep it up man, would help me make this phone usable for me. Im using it as i recently broke my other phone, but its unbearably slow on the stock marshmallow. Keep up the good work
Update ?
Yo, @pcfighter can you give us a update on rom ?
It's Easter so let the guy chill!
What I've noticed is that a lot of people in this forum are completely indifferent to the fact that the devs are just people, not companies. They have personal lifes and issues to deal with, not to mention that dev work is not that easy. If everyone could feel less entitled to get stuff for free and be just a bit more patient, that would be greaaat.

Deyum! You basically took it to the next level. Been ranting about this for a while now but ppl seem not to give a deyum about those who contribute value to our phones. Phones, which are often poorly configured from the manufacturer. If twasn't for several of the threads here, the Spirit would basically be junk.

Here I will post LineageOS 14.1 ROM when I done fixing critical bugs.
What works:
- booting to Lineage (but not always)
- LCD
- Touch
Not working:
- Battery status (phone shuts down when I disconnect the cable)
- Anything else
How it looks on spirit? Like this
For now I was able to boot twice. Root is required. Baseband from LS775 will be required to fix modem crash, obviously @Fobos531 TWRP also is required (for flash zip and baseband image). I can not promise fast development as Spirit is my primary phone and internet connection source.

^ - Read the README. I highly recommend getting a Linux (Ubuntu) install running. You need 20 - 50 GB of free disk space. Also you need A LOT of patience. Download Lineage source code and the local manifest as the readme instructs you. Then build Lineage and try flashing it. Take a look at this (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/h815/build) for further instructions in the building process. Once you get it to boot, use adb logcat to get logs which may help you debug errors and fix all the issues in the ROM. Join #lineageos-dev on freenode IRC if you have further questions. People there willl be able to help you.

already did... how exactly do i go about flashing? the file doesn't seem that large so do i clean the data, system, etc. after flash of stock?
EDIT: nvm i figured it out
I am just sitting here, wondering why the OP has not provided any links himself. It took a different user to provide links to the ROMs that aren't even for Android Oreo.
There's also no disclaimer or warning or instructions anywhere, which is very concerning because people are more likely to mess up and blame us due to there being no instructions to flash it properly, and no warning or disclaimer to tell the consumers to absolutely be careful.

already enjoying it very much. the snappy speed is really nice and got gapps installed into it with ease. hope the audio and video gets fixed soon, love me that dolby atmos mod
I'm pretty sure that we can't torrent our nightly releases or claim we can actually produce stable builds because honestly, nightly builds are typically associated as being stable nowadays, with unofficial builds being unstable, and not everyone has a torrent client and some might not want to use one.
By the way, it's worth noting that certification for devices on Nougat has been shut down by Google, and they want everyone to go to Oreo really badly, so the sooner we can output some Oreo builds that won't just make people rip their hairs out, the better.
@Paradoxify I can't get the torrent files to work. I can add them to my torrent client, but they never start downloading. Tried force rechecking, no dice. Is there an androidfilehost link? I don't use discord, and don't plan to.
Edit; Finally got both files. Deadmans twrp does not work. When I boot to recovery all I get is a black screen. And when I try installing with ashyx's twrp, the assert script erroneously thinks I have the LTE version of the sm-T350 and will not install. If I remove the assert script, it will install, but will not boot.

**Unofficial** Howto Kali Nethunter LG K20 Plus (MP260) [Modified Kernel]

Instructions on installing Kali NetHunter for the LG K20 Plus. (MP260)
This is a modified LineageOS 14.1 arm64 Kernel modified for use with the Nethunter although its should work for any ROM.
I am going to assume that your device is rooted and has TWRP installed. Also since this is an arm64 kernel, you will most likely need to have a custom ROM installed. I am using AICP "aicp_lv517_n-12.1-UNOFFICIAL-20180216". You can download it from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-aicp-12-1-t3592312.
Once you have that done, Make sure you download the nethunter-generic-arm64-kalifs-full-rolling-3.15.4-20170211-0304.zip and then download the kernel I compiled from my github.
https://github.com/robnew/NetHunter_K20plus_Kernel
Flash them both from TWRP and you should be good to go.
THE KERNEL
The NetHunter kernel for the LG K20 Plus is based on the LineageOS 14.1 [LV517] kernel sources.
•SELinux enforcing, switches to permissive when requested by NetHunter app
•Enabled USB (OTG) Atheros, Ralink, and Realtek WiFi drivers
•FIOPS IO scheduler as default IO scheduler, SIO available
•DriveDroid compatibility
•USB HID Gadget keyboard & mouse support (HID Attacks, Duckhunter HID Attacks)
•mac80211 packet injection support
•Additional drivers built in for the full Kali NetHunter experience
•Data partition encryption optional (may not be supported by custom kernels - encrypt at your own risk)
•Kernel module support, insert your own modules! (modprobe available in Kali chroot)
•CIFS, NFS available through included kernel modules
Enjoy.

I have used all the methods and yours was the last method and I am telling you it does not work for the rtl88xxau. I am trying to have this build within the kernel and I have done anything so far but not successful. The modules you have compiled are the ralink which you describe. I am having trouble building a kernel. I am trying to build a kernel with the drivers or rtl88xxau available but I am getting stuck at some point. Can you please tell me what version of linux os have you used to compile the kernel. I am trying to compile the kernel for the cm 14.1 with the rtl88xxau. thank you.

Thanks so much for this. I was trying to figure out if I was gonna need to get to learn how to build a kernel, or if I was gonna need to try and edit one? I dunno what I'm doing, and even though I like the process of reversing that, I'm just a little tight on time right, now.

[Kernel] [7.1.2] [HID Attacks] Nethunter

Kali Nethunter Kernel for Android Nougat (7.1.2)
Disclaimer:
Use this kernel at your own risk. Flashing it may brick your device. I'm not responsible for any software/hardware damage.
I did not do any significant development or building of this kernel. (I was simply a guy looking for a kernel that supported HID attacks on Nougat for Kali Nethunter and such I dug through the interwebs gathering all information/software required) All serious development credit goes to RoatanDave and Binkybear on Github, I simply built with Linux using the Nethunter-installer.
Having said that there is nothing special about this Kernel with regards to battery life and performance, expect the same as stock Lineage OS 14.1, it's just stable and works with the added benefit of using external wifi cards for packet injection and monitoring as well as enabling the use of HID attacks using Duckhunter.
Tested on:
As of now, the kernel has been tested and is working fine on the following ROM(s). If you decide to try the kernel on a different ROM, let me know if it works and I will add it to the list.
TugaPower N63
Lineage OS 14.1 (2018-06-13)
I'm pretty sure it should work for other Nougat based roms, just create a backup before trying.
How to install
1. Create a backup
2. Clear all caches.
3. Flash the attached file.
4. Reboot
5. Pwn the world
Troubleshooting
You must enable Android Debugging in the Developer Settings and the USB mode must be set to MTP. If you don't enable these options the HID attacks won't work.

I'm just beginning this journey so take it easy on me, I may not be able to help with adding features etc to the Kernel or going through source code but I'm willing to learn, I hope that I will be able to create a 8.1 Oreo version as well if it is possible. I am open to input and help from anyone who knows about the subject.

Maybe one more to be safe.
Thanks man, that's great work! Good to know that running a fully functional NetHunter on our bacon is an option!

OH, thanks!
Friend, can you make the kernel work on LineageOS 14.1 Sultanxda firmware? The fact is that this is a CAF firmware (maybe you know).
I'll try, I'm currently setting up a new 12core workstation at home and loading up ubuntu with all the tools needed for proper kernel development and learning a bit more everyday.

how many builds of Android Pie are out for the OPX?

How many builds of pir are there? can't any of them be installed permanently or are they all still alpha that will need reinstalled after official launch? i want to upgrade from the original OPX android to to pie for daily use. i also want magisks if that's not all supper outdated now too.
LOS 16 is really stable IMO and the dev announced it xill be the one supported in top priority.
There is no evidence that there will be "official" custom Rom on pie for OPX.
so the custom pie roms will not get updates from google?

?? I don't understand your question.
Google doesn't do anything about custom roms.
There is just one dev that worked on some custom roms on Pie (Pixel experience, AOSP and LOS). He just tond that he will put the priority on the LOS one. Note that it's marked as LOS 16 unofficial as he builds it itself, not in the LOS offcial roaster.
Onyx won't even be in the 15.1 roaster as it has just been ejected from official 14.1 roaster.

when Debian gets updates so does ubuntu and kubuntu and lubuntu and xubuntu. custom rom or not it IS still google android pie, so when vulnerability is found a update is pushed out for pie and all pie devices get said fix. unless phones don't work this way which would suck and mean it's un secure the custom rom dev gets boared or no longer has time.

You are confused, android builds are device specific, every patch needs to be integrated and compiled by the developer or mantainer of the rom you're using and can't be used in any other phone. Google releasses a new version of android and it's up to developers to create drivers and kernel "stuff" that allows the software to funcion in the device.
