Hey guys.
Today I got the permission from MIUI to unlock my bootloader. Although it is said that it takes a lot of time I got the SMS in 3 minutes.
So is there a way to lock it again and can i unlock it officially after locking it? Thanks
You just got the permission you haven't unlocked it yet
Its still locked if you want to unlock it then download mi flash unlock tool and unlock it
I'm not able to unlock it. It stops at 50%.

it will take a week or lil more then mi flash unlock tool will unlock the bootloader is ur prblm is invalid device id..

I get an error saying device verification failed.
Can I unlock it with stable ROM of not then tell me how to flash the developer ROM
Hello everyone,
I applied for permission to unlock my RN3(kenzo) bootloader around 3 weeks back, and still haven't got any message from Xiaomi. I tried going on without it, but the MiFlash unlock tool can't verify my device (after 50% progress it displays this message). Now I can't even seem to apply again for this permission. This is what happens :

Where I can only download the MiFlash tool.
I have been trying this for days now but it can't seem to work.

SSame thing happening to me. I didn't even applied once for unlocking. Still I can't request for unlock permission. Always directs me to download page Miunlock tool.
Had to unlock unofficially

Yes, that's an option. Seems this unlocking the bootloader thing is a pain for a lot of people.

Yeah it is. I previously used a MOTO X 2014 (MOTO G 2013 before that) and unlocking bootloader was a breeze there. Took a maximum of 5 mins, and I thought it'd be same for this device. But, oh boy!!! Xiaomi really test your patience.
Anyways thanks a lot for this. Will give it a go too.

easiest, fastest and safest method (works for kenzo/kate):
prerequisite:
MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM 6.9.29
ZCX TWRP
Mi Flash 6.8.30
1) Download 6.9.29 fastboot MIUI ROM
2) Extract and replace recovery.img (in images folder) with ZCX TWRP.
3) Flash using Mi Flash (in EDL mode)
4) After finished flashing process unplug and press [volume up]+[power] until Mi logo shows up then release buttons and it boots to TWRP
5) Backup, reboot to system and accept that TWRP disable/overwrite standard recovery
6) Boot to MIUI. (important step)
7) Finished!!
Now you have access to TWRP and can flash custom roms and kernels with locked bootloader.
No need to unlock bootloader anymore!

i want to know how to Unlock Bootloader on redmi note 3 on marshmallow.
in Lollipop version i need to just replace emmc appsboot file in fastboot rom extracted folder then i can easily unlock its bootloader and installed twrp
but in marshmallow when i replaced same file which i used to unlock in lollipop fastboot rom it always shows unlock failed error
please anybody tell the solution for this
also i tried to unlock Officially. i got confirmation message on my both mi account to unlock permission but it always gives error current account is different from device account information
please help me to unlock bootloader officially/Unofficially on Marshmallow only

Maybe this will help you. I was having a lot of trouble too unlocking the bootloader as mi flas tool would never go past 50%. What I did was :
1) Apllied for unlock permission (that you've already done).
2) Downloaded mi flash tool and tried unlocking with it(that failed obviously)
3) Logged into Mi Cloud at i.mi.com
4) Checked connected devices, there were two there. You gotta Delete the one that's not Redmi Note 3, and make sure redmi note 3 is online.
5) Now you go to Settings>Additional Settings >Developer Options >Mi unlock status, and bind the account there for unlocking.
6) Goto i.mi.com and click on someting like 'Find my phone'. It'll be there.
7) Now if it can find your phone and tell its location, then you're good to go. (This step is important I guess)
8) Go ahead and try unlocking your phone with Mi flashtool.
I hope this works for you(worked for me though).
If you can't unlock via this method there are a few unofficial unlocking methods or you could contact Xiaomi and they will correct your data on their server side and you should be good to go.

For me (and a lot of others) it was impossible to bind it, server always returned an error and asked to try again later...I unlocked unofficially and I'm a happy user of RR 5.7.4

Well you're right doing it. All this bootloader unlock charade is getting ridiculous now. I mean Xiaomi should learn from Motorola, their phones too come with locked bootloaders and unlocking them is a breeze(unless you use a carrier branded one).
Maybe it was just a good day for me that my BL got unlocked

Nah, you need a computer to unlock bootloader. Download mi unlock tool and that'll explain you everything.

I cannot unlock my bootloader for some reason now. I had applied for permission around a year and a half back, I got the permissions, unlocked the bootloader and flashed a lot of ROMS. When I flashed MIUI through fastboot, the bootloader got locked again. Now I want to try some ROMS, but I cannot unlock the bootloader. It goes all the way till 99 percentage and it then gives the message 'Current Account cannot unlock this device'. I have permissions and everything because when I go to the mi unlock site I'm directed to the download page, not to the application page. Also, when I try to bind the account to my phone in Mi Unlock status in developer options, it keeps saying 'Couldnt Verify, wait a minute or two and try again'. I've waited for a day and it still doesn't work. I only have one sim card in my phone(the one which I used to get permission) but still it keeps saying the same message again and again.

Hello. Though I never had the problem (was on NOS rom before I messed something and had to flash miui rom via fastboot and relocked bl, I easily reunlock again using official method like the first time).
Before unlocking, make sure your phone are locked by using cmd "fastboot oem device info" or something like that I forgot. And your phone developer option have allow oem unlocking ticked on. Make sure your phone mi account logged in and of course matched with the one on your pc/laptop. Have good usb cable, drivers, and stable internet. Also you can try unlocking using another version of miui rom (the one you used for the first unlocking).
Don't know if those helps though.
I had the same problem for almost 2 months, asked on the miui forum and nobody helped so i just unlocked it unofficially, works great! On RR N now!

Did you manage to unlock the bootloader? i have the exact same situation. unlocked my device 1 year ago, flashed miui fastboot rom and now unable to unlock . same error .

I am facing same issue, could you please share unofficial method for 9.2.4.0
I flashed beta version of miui 9 by fastboot, i didnt faced such problem, i simply just logged on to the account on which i took permission and unlocked the bootloader

Yeah its not an issue with all devices, I do have colleagues who have managed to unlock it officially, but still its a problem for a lot of people.
I have the exact same problem. Stuck at 99 when trying to re unlock, on both miui 8 and 9. I didnt bother trying to unlock with developer roms, just used the method to flash twrp without bl unlock. All good now on nos 8.
I'm happy with flash twrp only without unlocking bootloader since I got root access anyway
Why are you people trying to unlock bootloader when it's not even necessary on our phone? Just look on the forums a little bit more and you won't struggle anymore trying to unlock.

Hi , just manage to add account and device without errors on mi note 3 by using SoloVpn app from playstore set to China .
Now i am waiting 72 hour's to proceed unlocking.
Apparently the error on add account and device starting with 80xxx and some Chinese text it's blocking the unlocking tool.

I have done it before and relocked it again, now i am not able to unlock it again
at first when i tried fastboot oem unlock-go it said oem unlock not allowed, i had enabled oem unlock and usb debugging from dev options but some how whenever i completed the flashing process it showed me this error again.
I tired the official unlock method and it gives error at 99% - "could not unlock".
now after trying it on different miui versions it is showing an error like this after fastboot oem unlock-go :
token verification invalid or something.
please help me, this is just bugging me!
EDIT:- I managed to unlock it, i flashed miui 7.2.5.0 and did the process again and it worked.
Thanks for your suggestion , probably we have the same problem .. flashing a miui 7 seems to be the only way for official unlock to a lot of KATE users .
Maybe one day that i'll change device i'll use this method too .. right now the RN3se is my only device .

no i unofficially unlocked it and now i am stuck in boot loop after i flash any new roms, so i am flashing miui dev rom and will try to unlock it officially. hope it doesnt take 8 days

Official unlock has advantage. Ur device receives official unlock key.
If ur device is official unlock. And if u r on custom rom then u can even flash latest firmware 45mb zip file which totally updates ur phone including bootloader.
U need latest miui bootloader to boot oreo or pie custom roms. If u have lollipop bootloader then u cant boot latest custom roms.
Bind ur account in developer option and keep micloud sync on both wifi and data.
Wait for 72 hours.
If u cant unlock on ur pc then use diffrent pc. But unlock it on latest miui 8.9.20 global beta.
Even u can use linux Os. They say linux pc has better chance to unlock officially then windows pc. So if u have linux installed on pc then good.

Thanks man, i realized that and i tried unlocking it says try unlocking in 72 hours. xaiomi is annoying the **** out of me. why would you give permission and then say oh no no you gotta wait my man, wait for another 3 days after you have wasted half of your day

Dont keep on changing rom. Ur device info should sync with xiaomi server. Ur rom version should match with xiaomi server. Keep mi cloud sync on.if everything matches then server sends unlock key to phone.
Make sure u dont have antivirus disabled on pc or on phone while unlocking.
