Clipboard in Mate 10? - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Is there a way of getting clipboard on Huawei Mate 10? Most phone have this feature, where you can save multiple text in clipboard and use it later. But This Mate 10 doesn't seem to have it.. ?

Yes, you have it. Check options in SwiftKey Keyboard, there is clipboard manager integrated.

Use this app. Its the most used app I use. It's excellent. You can use the tiles app to create a short cut for it I always have access to my most used words I need to copy and paste from the quick settings shade.

"Quick Memo" Listing...

Besides using the File Manager to go into the folder where these Quick Memo files are stored, is there any easy way to view of list of saved memos right in the Quick Memo app?
Sorry in advance if I missed the obvious!

OK, more time was needed to noodle this, but I found that Quick Memo files are stuffed into the Notebook app. It was just pure chance that I fell upon it. Seems to me that there should be a way to view Quick Memo files in the Quick Memo app - maybe there is? Let me know what I am missing.
Files created in the similar RichNote app can be seen in a list right in the app if you hit Cancel when viewing a note. Even this UX design was a bit kludgy - but at least it was there.

I've noticed a few bits of the UI are kludgy. You have the option to save Quickmemos to the notebook or your gallery. I find myself not using the Quickmemo feature because it is a bit cumbersome.

New Google handwriting app - replace Sam's keyboard

Hi, am giving everyone a head's up on Google's new Handwriting Input app. Perfect for use with our S Pen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.handwriting.ime&hl=en
For me, I use Google's KB (not Samsung's) and switch back & forth between normal and handwriting KB. You switch between input methods from within each app - no need to use Settings to switch. So it's practical as well, though not as seamless as Sammy's keyboard.
But I find Google's swipe feature much better than Sam's so the inclusion of the handwriting app is purely excellent. Hope it works for you too.

no hebrew support . But Samsung KB do support
I installed it from Play store but I do not like it:
1. No button to switch to a normal keyboard. They shoud have integrated it with their normal keyboard;
2. After every word I have to wait to recognize it because if write two words with space the keyboard think it is one word;
3. There is no option to scroll thru all the text and correct it.

Regarding point 3, tap and hold the globe to the left of space bar to stitch input methods
I've found it to be better at picking up my handwriting in the 2 days I've used it than the Sammy one is after 6 months of use, so it's a no brainer, I'm keeping the google one

How to hide apps without ROOT on Android

Privacy is a major concern in today’s web industry. All Major Tech industries and web portals are serious about privacy. Individually, we all take privacy very seriously. Therefore, developers are trying to bring us apps that make sure our files remain private and safe from prying eyes of strangers.
# What can PrivateMe hide?
PrivateMe comes with tons of customization for the hiding features. Firstly PrivateMe can hide apps of almost all 3rd party. While hidden in PrivateMe, the data generated by these hidden apps will not be reached by other apps. At the same time, PrivateMe also can hide apps from your launcher, recent Apps list, App management in system settings and any other app trace on your phone system. Moreover, you can manage the notification of hidden apps. Secondly PrivateMe also can hide pictures, screenshot and other media files on the phone.

Sorry for my late, I missed this massage
Fortunately, my colleague had emailed the apk to you via [email protected]

You can hide apps with a Launcher. I use nova launcher which has this feature.
On the v2.0 we combined Hide and Clone to the feature of Create Apps in PrivateMe, here is the steps for hiding apps:
First of all go to PrivateMe Apps Setting
Tap the + on the right top on home screen to enter App Creating list, you can choose to create local apps into PrivateMe or create new apps in PrivateMe through App market.
Hide new apps: type into search bar to find apps from App market and then install without records. Then you can access to this app through PrivateMe.
Clone apps: select from App Creating list to create apps you’ve installed, tap the app icon then will automatically prompt to create the app – detect app security – created successfully. When creating completed, the app can be used in PrivateMe normally. Now you can run multi accounts at the same time on one phone with the cloned app.
Hide local apps: after the app is created in PrivateMe, you need to uninstall it on your phone system, or later opening this app in PrivateMe to choose to uninstall from system, to completely hide this app, then you just access it from PrivateMe.
Mock Notifications: If you want to manage the notification of hidden and cloned apps, then go to PrivateMe >Home > Notifications > select block/allow/mock. And you can go to the Mock Notification Setting to customize your mock content.
Protect PrivateMe: go to the App Setting list of PrivateMe, here two protection solutions are available: Cover PrivateMe - cover PrivateMe as calculator and this calculator requires password followed by "=" to open PrivateMe; Lock PrivateMe - set the password to access PrivateMe.
Follow same method to enable the app. Just Simple like that!
Paid apps?
I tried to hide a purchased app, but the app can't "see" that I bought it so it won't run. What must I do to ensure the purchased hidden or cloned apps can run?

Hide notification content / message preview on MIUI lockscreen

Hey everyone. A few weeks ago I bought a xiaomi phone (Redmi Note 4) running MIUI 8.1.6.0. One of the first things that I wanted to enable was the hide sensitive notification on lockscreen. What I mean is that when the device is locked you get a notification on the lockscreen and it shows the content of the message. For example If I received a WhatsApp of my dad it would show Whatsapp from dad: Buy bread. What I wanted was to hide that it was my dad and the content, so it would show 1 new whatsapp message. For some reason you can't do this from MIUI settings, but after browsing the deep web I found a way to do this, and MIUI does have this feature but it is hidden. What I found is that If you download the app called Floatify and acces the help section and click on “Disable native android notifications on lockscreen“ it shows a MIUI menu that lets you choose beetween: Show all notification content, Hide sensitive notification content and Don't show notifications at all. This is what I was looking for. This keeps on working when you unistall floatify so it is a miui setting for sure. MY REQUEST IS: Could anyone please create a simple app or shortcut to acces this settings? I think it would be easy cause you would just have to see how floatify does it and copy it. This is a very requested feature on the MIUI forum but xiaomi just tells you to disable notifications themselves, so many people would be grateful. Thanks. Contact: [email protected]
Hello there!
You could try if the desired settings menu is in the list of shortcuts in the QuickShortcutMaker app found here:
>QuickShortcutMaker<
Alternatively you could also try the Hidden Settings app:
>HiddenSettings<
Good luck!

Hey thanks bro it actually works.
How to hide hide contents of locked apps only? There is a guide, http://c.mi.com/thread-170007-1-0.html?mobile=2 although why this option is not present in note 4 MIUI 8.2 I don't understand. Any help?
This is already available on Redmi note 4 (MIUI 8.2.10.0). Have you tried Settings>system & Device>Notification and status bar>App notifications>whatsapp and switch off lock screen notifications. There will be no need to download third party app.
This is a tutorial on how to do that
If anyone is still looking on how to do that, I just did a tutorial step-by-step on how to hide the notification's content. Here's the link en.miui.com/thread-913531-1-1.html

I am using MIUI version 8.5.4.0. To hide sensitive notification,
GoTo Settings -> LockScreen & Password -> Advanced Settings -> On the lock screen, Choose "Hide sensitive notification content"
Unfortunately I guess, this doesn't help in this case: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/help/setting-hide-sensitive-notifications-t3684607

I had completely forgotten about that and since I upgraded it's been bugging me for weeks! Thank you!
Is there a way to show ONLY the sender for whatsapp notifications but not the content, like in the iphone 'hide sensitive info' option ?
The given options here work but I would like to know the sender for all messages to choose if I want to unlock the phone to see the message or not, depending on the sender.
1.Open settings
2.Open app lock
3.Open app lock setting(click on right corner icon)
4.Open hide content option
5. choose the apps
And enjoy

Shortcuts (URL) on Android Homescreen

Hi!
I have added several shortcuts to websites on my homescreen while browsing.
I've tried to find more information about this but I wonder why it's impossible to edit the URL or change the app to use besides the one that created the shortcut.
There must be a source of the shortcut that is editable?
The name is editable but not the content of it.
The device I'm talking about uses Android 5.0.2 but I have the same on a device running on Android 9.
Why can't it behave like a file which leds to an 'Open with' screen?
AFAK creating web-links on home-screen is a feature offered by both the Chrome and the Firefox browser. It's not a feature provided by any Android OS version.

I see.
So they are assigned to the program who made them?
They can't be detached from them?
Why does the Android user in this video get the chance to choose which app should open the hyperlink?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZFP2sJMocA
Is there a difference between adding from the bookmarks or by adding the shortcut directely from the feature?
He did add the shortcut from his bookmarks while I just used the feature without passing through the bookmarks. (would be strange but you never know)
The video is from 2012 so I assume that the Android version is even lower than 5 which would mean that there was more functionality (in this case at least) back then.
Is there a go-around when it comes to choosing the browser you want to use?
It would be nice to see the list of installed browers popping up.
