My understanding is there is newer firmware out but I'm stuck on 9.6.14.0? Has anyone received an OTA yet?
So download the latest from the net, put the Installer file onto the root directory of your phone and install it...

Yesterday i got a message of an OTA update for my Hero phone.
I installed it and from then i can't boot my phone.
It hangs at the HTC logo.
I tried fastboot to install the RAA recovery but i am getting the remote: not allowed error. Also i tried the hard reset but that also didn't work.
With the ruu rom file from htc i managed after loading it to get the rom.zip file.
I renamed it to HEROIMG and loaded it with the fastboot menu (back + power and then vol down).
Here i am getting an error that the version is not right.
I am really frustrated because i can't fix it.
I hope someone got an solution for this so i can bring my phone alive.
It seems that i can load roms with the microSD card with the heroimg file.
Hi, i think you had root access.
With the update you loose your root acces, you need to gett root acces back.
The only way to use your hero right now is the install with a ruu file. ( a official update from your provider.) There is a tread with all the htc hero official rom as *.exe.
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Hero#Official
Afterwords you need get root access to install custom rom's.
But maybe there is a other way.
Thanks,
I have tried the latest rom from the link
but it can't find my phone when i have booted it under fastboot.
I also tried to copy the rom.zip from this package.
and rename it to HEROIMG.zip
then i loaded it with the hboot mode.
It is loading and then its verifying and then i get an error that the version is older.
This seems to install but it still hangs.
Now i am downloading the 2.73.405.66 from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=5596221
I did root my phone with the official firmware, but how can an update brick my phone because of the root?.
frustrating that i am not having an microSD reader.
I am writing it now with my Dingoo A320 gaming console
Finally with other drivers the ruu file is trying to update my phone.
But now i am getting an 140 error (bootloader version error)
I saw in a post that you need a golcard to fix this.
But i don't think that works because i don't have adb only flashboot
I got the HBOOT-1.76.0007 (HERO10000)
MICROP-010F
Radio-6.35.15.11
The phone screen says:
checking Main Version...
Update Fail!
I think i got a problem
I have the same problem after the install (hangs on the "HERO" logo on boot), even though I never rooted my phone nor installed anything not coming from the market.
I've got the OTA file on my watch, but I cannot flash it since I am rooted, and I have a custom recovery. What I want to know is, how does one get that file out of their watch onto a computer, and how would I go about putting it into a flashable zip?

The OTA should be a package named update.zip, I think you can flash this package directly from recovery. I´ve uploaded my update.zip on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch/help/5-0-2-update-lwx49k-t3034438
I´ve tried to flash throught TWRP and it does not work, maybe from stock recovery...
I have the OST software up and running, but cannot find a stock ROM on the internets for the TA-1085. Where can I find it? Must be a .nb0 file, apparently, to work. I'm stuck on the download mode screen, and fastboot/adb methods have all failed to restore or reset to factory.

First are you bootloader unlocked?
If so, you can use NOST using the CTL-256A-0-00WW-B07 - September '18 firmware (Android 8.1). From here https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=299213.
The other firmware CTL-345A-0-00WW-B01 - December '18 (Android 9.0) and CTL-351F-0-00WW-B04 - March '19 has a new sparse so you can't use NOST to flash. You have to use Hikari's new sparse script to flash to a more recent rom. You can find the thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/how-to/guide-workaround-flashing-sparse-t3906070
A friend also got his 7.1 bricked, by the update v3.54h
Can he skip the update? Or he's never gonna recieve another update (android 10 for example) till he install that one?
Hello everyone,
so I have been playing around with my HTC U11. I unlocked the bootloader and installed the newst TWRP version. Then I flashed it to Lineage 16. However I could not install the HTC Edge Sense App and since I couldnt find any answers to that problem decided to flash back to stock rom and then update to Android 9.0 and get my Edge Sense back.
So I checked for my device CID which is HTC_034 and downloaded myself the stock rom from the getdroidtips stock firmware collection (cant post link because I am new)
I did the MD5 Checksum and everything was fine. However when I try to sideload it via adb i get a zip file corrupt error and TWRP stops it. Then I tried pushing it and installing it through the install function of TWRP. I can push it onto the device but when I want to install it I get the same error again. Things I tried so far:
1. used an older version of TWRP
2. all the 4 stockroms available for the HTC_034 on said link
3. load the .zip onto an sd card, enter it and tell TWRP to install from there - didnt work either.
4. rename the .zip to package.zip (read it somewhere)
Everytime I get the Error that the .zip is corrupt. Checksums of all the files are ok...
Has anyone an idea what else I can do? I would actually be fine with lineage 16 if I could just get my HTC Edge Sense back (
Thanks in advance for your help
Headcannon: what if the problem ia for some reason the twrp? Could i somehow flash the stock rom without going through the TWRP?
I am not talking about removing it. I am talking about somehow flashing without using it. Maybe via adb or odin?
Then the stockrom should be able to install. If something goes wrong I can still boot into recovery and use TWRP to get LOS16 back.
Ok so since I read somewhere that on the pixels root access was necessary to get HTC Edge Sense running I installed Lineage 16, added GAPPS and then used Magisk to get root access.
I still can't install HTC Edge Sense. I even downloaded the apk and pushed it onto the phone but the install always stops and tells me it can't finish
So for now I can neither have stock rom nor Edge Sense - any suggestions because I am slowly running out of ideas
Hello I've downloaded latest stock firmware/ROM from: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...2202-ASUS-32.2050.2050.34-1.1.1-2210-user.zip
But unable to find any guide or tool on how to install it? From searching I understand there's supposed to be a flashfile_AFT.cmd, but can't find it in the zip. I've unlocked bootloader already. thanks
Flashing a working device? Just copy to root dir and reboot.
The instructions said to choose the zip from recovery, but stock recovery doesn't have an option to "install from zip". I only managed to flash the stock firmware after installing twrp.

That's also what instructions said, but I never got the notification you are supposed to get. Also, we are more likely to want to flash the stock firmware on a non-working device and I really can't find how we are supposed to do it with stock firmware.
For the updatenotification you maybe have to activate something like "apply updates on reboots / automatic updates" in developer options.
If the device only boots to fastboot you need a raw firmware file with the flashall.bat (I think it was WW-AI2202-32.2004.2004.84-REL-2206-M2.13.33.11-ASUS_1.1.1-user-20220722.zip for example). You can find it on romdevelopers.
All I had to do was take the firmware zip, plop it into my 'home' directory (i.e. not the actual root directory!), and I got the notification that an update was available via that zip. Standard installation after that.
I had and continue to have root access through Magisk, though I did have to apply that 'after update' magisk function before rebooting to complete the update. Rebooting without doing that loses your root access.
Yes, i mean that folder. Its "root" If you use the standard filemanager.
ok this will update the phone but if a phone was bricked, does any stock ROM file exist that can be flashed via fastboot?
Or is there a script which can be used to flash the contents inside payload.bin through fastboot? there are lots of files if payload.bin is extracted, not sure if everything it meant to be flashed?
