Hello.
It's a really good thing we have custom ROMs now in the forums but before I decide to try out the ROMs I knew I had to make a backup in case anything goes wrong. But the thing is I only backed up a few partitions and didn't make a full backup.
After trying a few ROMs and coming back to MIUI, I've noticed I'm not able to receive any calls or messages. The VoLTE mark is completely gone now even flashing stock ROM won't work. There are some people online claiming that flashing Oreo ROMs can result in losing VoLTE and we should back up everything before flashing custom ROMs, anyone has any idea how to revert it back? A few searches didn't reveal any stock images to flash from fastboot, so I'm left with literally nothing.
I don't know where you were searching, but definitely I see few fastboot ROMs here https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/xiaomi-poco-f1-unlock-bootloader-custom-t3839405 including stock 9.6 and miui 10 beta

Thanks for the reply.
I thought there were lower level imgs like radios or vendor.. I tried flashing the beta ROMs and didn't work out.. But I'm trying stable ROM just to see if anything changes..
edit: things seem to revert back to normal after flashing stable ROM. I'm still confused as to why the beta ROM didn't work as it was working fine for the last few weeks. Sorry for causing a ruckus for nothing.
i do have weird issue . first time i use PE pie , volte is there, second time i reflash it (because accidentally encrypt all my things) same rom,
i lost my volte after that.
i tried the *#*#86583#*#* and it didn't work .
what did i miss?
it seems like the latest update of "phone" fix the issue.
now volte is back.
------------------
update;
after i reboot, i lost my volte again. not sure why just now is working and after that failed.

I always have problem with sms, love the phone. So please confirm you have working sms and it delivers instantly to your phone after someone text you. if this is problem with my phone, then I will buy a new one.
No matters how I had tried, clean or dirty install 5.0 or 4.4 ROM, factory reset, wipe everything, I still have problem with delayed message whenever someone text me. I take at least 5-10' for message arrive. everything else including sending message, receive call from someone or calling are fine.
it happens to all AOSP ROM but stock ROM. it works fine on any stock ROM.
Thanks for your help

Swapping phones probably won't help. I don't run custom ROMs, but I have read of others having this issue on custom ROMs.
It is what it is I think. The custom ROMs still have issues to work out, especially when it comes to LP.
Mine is fine.
Did a dirty flash of Jasmine.
Works Fine Here

Mine works fine. Running Jasmine 4.0 and Sky Dragon Kernel 2.9.2. However, I have not had SMS problems on other stock based ROMS or other kernels.

Yeah! there is no problem with SMS at all if you running Stock custom ROM
But if I install CM ROM 11, 12 I will have that problem and so frustrated.

What modem are you on? I'm using the 12B modem from the latest update and I never have any issues with cellular service or SMS/MMS. I did have issues on Lollipop until I flashed the new modem, and since then, everything has been great. Also, make sure your data mode is set to LTE (recommended) and not Global unless you specifically need this.
I've had no problem at all and i've tried all the custom roms....i currently use 12b radio

I've found its an asop lollipop ROM issue I had the same problem on every lollipop ROM I flashed so I went back to stock based ROMs and no problems since I think until the official ota lollipop update comes out for us US users were going to have issues in one way or another it's just the way it is

I've had 12B modem since before flashing AOSP, and I consistently had SMS problems using Lollipop roms, including CM12. I've always had to go back to modified stock ROM after a day. This past Friday I installed latest CM12 nightly, and finally SMS is working as it should. BTW, I've made it a point to clean flash every time.
Wow you're right. My first time on rom in two years. On illusion. And my sms is about 45-60 seconds behind. Good thing I use hangouts more than anything these days....
Hi friends.
Yesterday I Flashed the ROM 15s through TWRP not sure about if it is Indian or Chinese ROM, my phone is x820, after the flash my phone booted with the screen split in the middle and opposite, however the touch was responsable like always in the original distribution, so was very annoying to navigate in the phone...
Anyway, some of you know why this happens? I flash in the wrong way? I missed something?
Why such an OLD ROM? I recommend you 20s from Madsurfer. Do a clean install.
I want to start over, and updating by OTa. I have tried all the Roms. In fact I am now with the dev21s from Madsurfer which for me is great. The problem is that I am having an issue with BT with many Roms. So I want to go back.
try the rom of "cuoco" works fine or "small eui 5.9"

Hi icerebro,
Were you able to solve the problem on the screen?
I'm having the same problem though, it occurred after restoring the device from a brick, with the dev-qfyl version.
Thanks!

Yes I did, I realized that had to use another version of TWRP and be sure about the version of the ROM you are installing.
this happened to me today. i flashed 14s cn and got the splitscreen, even in twrp. flashed 16s cn and it's back to normal.
don't panic

The TWRP version that you are using isn't compatible with the 014s that you just flashed. Until 015s the EUI was 5.6 and had a different kernel than 016s which is 5.8. Therefore the TWRP versions are different. Flashing wrong ROMs will render your phone with split screen issue or won't boot at all, it depends.
Simply put, search for TWRP 5.8 TeaMSpaiN that works with almost everything above 016s and TWRP 3.0.2 for any version below.
i experimented a lot yesterday with qfil/flashone. for me it looks like it is not kernel related. i flashed different kernel and the issue remained.
what i found is: if you replace the file emmc_appsboot.mbn (seems to be the bootloader, isn't it?) with a newer one (i took it from 20s), no splitscreen occurs. the qfil-dev and 14s roms boot up and behave absolutely normal. also there is no splitscreen in fastboot and twrp but there is a problem with stock recovery. the left side of the screen is covered by some kind of white-noise pattern and it reboots after a few seconds. it looks very much like the pattern we covered in the "screen flickering" thread.

My wife has a lot of problems with here playstore & google login fail to update the services.
Sometimes it works and all seem updated, but later the same problems come back.
I donwloaded some playstore fix apps where I can download some recent apk's but I don't even know which version to download.
She still had following original rom / android:
5.1.1 LMY47V
3.10.49-perf-g6241083
In past I had some problems with the bank app, they said that Xiami possibly had it's own non-original playstore which causes all the trouble...
I have 3 questions :
-Maybe there is a patch apk that solve this problem ?
-Are there nice looking and fast roms here without the play store & google services update issue, maybe with Android 6 or 7 Nougat allready if possible ?
-Is it a big difference Android 7 vs 5.1.1 and worth the update ?
It's been a while since my Samsung that I flashed roms with the TRWP updater tot non-original roms, maybe it's time to check how to flash this device to a non original rom with less problems...
I have the same Redmi Note 3 and no problems with that playstore/services update/chrome login... maybe i'm lucky....
Thanks!
Hey ! First Simply try to factory reset the device assuming you've already gone through clearing Google app data etc .
Or Next what you can try is flashing fastboot rom
Or Unlock bootloader & flash any Nougat roms with opengapps
All the procedures are available on YouTube ?

If she wants miui, then definitely xiaomi.eu roms are good to go.
Else you can flash any custom rom other than miui, followed by opengapps
Thanks, yes I did a factory reset yet and cleared all data, but still the same problem.
I don't know the nougat roms and if there's a big difference with the original Android, as long as the store problems are gone

Try step 2 , i think it'll fix the issue . Flashing custom roms is the last resort
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
I performed a TWRP installation.
Now my phone is stuck on MI.com unlocked state
any way I can do something?
same here
Never mind, I installed the AOSP rom and it finally came up. I also installed the lazy flasher which might have fixed the issue
Never mind, lets close this Thread, I fixed the issue by installing the lazy flasher, Tried OREO roms, AOSP roms, DotOne, but no luck, all roms are unstable right now.
Restored MIUI back living with high Ram usage and lots of bloatware

Hey all,
I picked up an H932 and the rooting process seemed easy enough. I have TWRP installed and I got through the whole tutorial without a hitch.
However, I've read elsewhere of people upgrading to different versions of stock before installing a custom rom? I guess I'd still be on 10d, and I'm thinking to install Havoc OS unofficial as it runs great on my H930.
Edit: Nevermind I guess. I installed 20s fullstock and that worked fine, rebooted into recovery and installed Havoc. Don't really have a way to test it though.

The problem was fingerprint sensor didn't work right on custom ROMs if you stayed on Nougat after root. You had to upgrade back to Oreo before installing custom ROMs.

Yeah I did some more reading then found the 20s thread. I installed 20s and went straight to Havoc.
I need to do some testing though.
