Hello!
I recently purchased an Honor 10 and noticed that it had a weird screen-issue that was only noticable while displaying certain pictures. The screen would turn a bright shade of pink and green while swiping between images in the gallery before rendering them in their correct colours. I also noticed that when I took screenshots they would come out with really washed out colours. I sent the phone back and ordered a new one from the same retailer since they're the only ones who stock the 128gb model in my country, and when the new unit arrived earlier today I found out it has the exact same issue. I called support to make sure that they didn't just send me back the same unit and they're adamant that it isn't and that the IMEI numbers are different. Has anyone else encountered this issue or am I really unlucky to get it twice in a row? I tried doing factory resets on both phones but the issue remains.

Hello! Thank you for replying! Mine was set to vivid, so I changed it. Really odd thing though is that I sent the second phone I had issues with back yesterday and settled for another retailer with the 64gb model, and today when it arrived I find that it has the exact same issue! Really not sure whether I'm doing something wrong or if I'm astronomically unlucky since that's 3 in a row now. At first I thought the images that get the discolouration issues might be corrupted or something like that, but I've downloaded others from google and gotten the same result anyway. Every time I take a screenshot the result comes out with less colours as well, so if I do it multiple times I get multiple copies of the same image with a gradient effect. I really love the phone other than these issues, so it's a bit distressing.
Seems impossible.
You get this problem since before you install any app?
Maybe the lighting in your house gives a weird effect on the materials used in this phone.
3rd one same problem is crazy.

Yep, no apps installed. I skipped the sync and wifi-connection and everything when I first started it so I could see if it worked properly. I don't think it has anything to do with the lightning in my house, I did a screen recording to show the issue so I could send it to Huawei support and ask about it, and you can tell even on my PC screen that the discoloration is very evident and the screenshot issue as well. That would indicate that it's a software issue, wouldn't it? I tried to attach the recording to my OP but I can't post links yet since my account is new. Not sure if I want to risk ordering another one, I will wait for their support to reply to me and see what they say!
Probably hardware problem.
I would return it and buy another one from a different source.
Probably a lot of bad batches got sent out?

ISSUES:
Hi,
My HTC is giving me problems. The screen has become yellowish.
Earlier the screen used to become yellowish for 5-10 mins and it used to occur in two weeks or so. But now the phone has permanently become yellowish. I am also attaching a picture along with this thread. As you can see, the areas in the pic which are bluish is showing the true color of the background. Rest of the screen is all yellowish.
Can someone help me with this problem.
Best regards,
MOhit Goyal

A couple of times I've had green/yellow horizontal streaks on the screen. The icons etc under the streaks are still visible but discoloured.
This cannot be captured in a screen shot taken on the phone, I've tried and the capture looks Ok once the streaking has gone
Is this similar to your problem?

can anyone try this, and them reply the results here, thanks.
Regarding the matter that i have once posted,i have fixed the problem and wish to share it with anyone thats experiencing a same problem
special THX 2 enCORe x132755 Baronic WarMacre lhongwuh, for making this possible ^^
if u experience sumthing like the picture posted, the solution is simple,
u know the suctions, the ones u use on car windows or toilet,u stick it to the wall/window to hang something, stick it to the middle of the hd2 screen/or any screen with such problems, and pull the suction up,i repeat PULL THE SUCTION,not remove it and the hole will be gone, leaving some rainbowish oily surface
if this helped any1 in the forum ill be very glad

Nobody tried? (suctions or cellophane tape?) :-(
Probably one of this:
1. Hardware failure - nothing to do with it.
2. Wrong ROM/Radio - just reflash carefully with matching ROM and Radio (the best will be the latest)
3. Software bug - see 2.
On my cousins HTC Wizard is something similar: the screen slowly fills with white 1px lines, but after turning off the screen and waking back it gets normal (and it happens when booting Wing Linux; the console is half white ), so it COULD be software issue.
according to me i think that it is a hardware deffect ...probably the lcd is giving away in many cases...i got my screen replaced n had a yellowish tint in any white screen....i returned it,after 6 days they said that the lcd was faulty
I had this same problem with the strange yellow screen and read on some other forum that you're supposed to "flex" the phone. So I bended my phone a little (the top and bottom backwards, be careful the screen also has glass in it) to try to get a bit of a curve in it and by god ...it worked!!!!! The screen flickered and then the yellow screen was gone!!! I'm so glad because I mailed Htc two days earlier and I still don't have a response from them. I hope it works for you
I had same problem. Solved by drying the phone with hairdryer. First time occurred in winter time after using it from the pocket. Second time in summer time with high weather humidity. Solved spontaneously, or by flexing phone or by reboot. I think the moisture is the problem.
Hi all,
I've had my GT-I9100 since May this year and for some reason, have either only just noticed the following issue, or it's only just manifested.
I'm noticing some finer dark lines on the screen, starting from the very top (when held in portrait view) and gradually fading away down the screen. I've heard about the term "banding" and I believe that's to do with Samsung's sharpening algorithm making gradients not blending as smoothly as they should. So I don't believe this is the banding issue, unless I have the above wrong?
This is definitely a screen issue as when switching the device to portrait view, the lines stay where they were rather than rotating and these lines do not come up on screen shots as below.
I've linked the below animated GIF image, showing what I would consider normal and then the next frame showing the lines that I've edited on using Paint.net.
The edited image probably over exaggerates the issue, but now that I've seen these lines, they're very noticeable especially when scrolling because the moving background underneath the lines make them stick out more.

GT-I9100
XXKG6 ROM (my own, just based off stock with a few smali edits to MMS.apk etc, no theme)
SpeedMod K2-17
XXKI4 modem
Voodoo Screen intalled with it set to native
Any suggests and help will be much appreciated.
Can anyone at least confirm if this happens on their device or not?
This is very noticeable when scrolling around your local area on Google Maps and when clikcing into the Google Search widget.
I'll check on both of my work colleagues phones as of tomorrow but would be great to get a wider selection to test from.

Have it also occasionally
Hi Mekrel,
I do have observerd the same issue on my GS II.
The flickering seems to come and go (or I only notice it occasionally).
It's most visible in light/white areas of the display.
I also have had my device since may or so and have changed through various roms, including litening, batista and cyanogenmod.
Im pretty sure that the issue occured regardless of what rom I used (Id say it has nothing to do with the rom).
Unfortunately I cant offer a solution, only the fact that I have the same issue :/

Hi knusprig,
Thanks for your feedback.
Just thought I would reply just incase anyone else experiences similar. I checked my two work colleague's handsets today and they didn't have any dark horizontal lines across the top 3rd of their screens.
Went to my local O2 store where I bought the handset SIM free and spoke to a member of staff who told me that because I own the handset outright, I either had two years warranty with Samsung or one year's with O2.
Turned out that there was a Samsung certified repair centre across the road. So took it in and left it with them at lunch time, returned 5 hours later after work and they've replaced the screen and it's working fine. No cost to me at all.
Very happy with the service
Let's meet up in rottonrow and discuss this further lol

Greetings! I am wondering if it is possible for this to be light bleed or is it another display issue? Basically a white bar is about .5" from the bottom bezel of the tablet. I do notice there is light bleed in that area, I'm wondering if it's the cause of the white bar? I tried my best to capture the defect and outlined it in red. It is quite hard to see in photo, but very easy to spot in person on light colors etc. I know there is a separate light bleed thread, but I thought maybe this could be another issue? Thank you for your input.

That looks like more than just light bleed. Light bleed on mine isn't as much a defined line as yours. Plus I usually don't see it on light screens. But let others answer here too
I am in the same boat as you, zetsumeikuro. I think it has to do with the cheap display panel that came with the Nexus 9 as I had the same bar of slightly-more-brighter-portion-part with my really old iPhone 3GS before heading to android. It's too bad I I can see mine really clearly too :'(

I had the same exact defect in exactly the same spot. Receiving my tablet from warranty this week with the display changed. Will see if it is really fixed.

Thanks for the update! I also just decided to send my tablet into HTC for repair for this issue. I also have super slow charging sometimes, so might as well have them take a look at that too. Please let me know how the repair worked out for you. I was super reluctant with sending my 9 into HTC cause of my craptacular experience with the purple camera with the one. Had to do the "repair" 3-4 times, it was utter and complete bull**** and chaos.
Looks like HTC repair did the trick this time! Total time from me shipping the device out to them sending it back (excluding weekends) about 8 business days. They swapped out the LCD and fixed the slow charging issue. Tablet seems like brand new!
Looks like a lot of HTC's panels for the N9 are pretty cheap. My "repaired" one has the same issue, just to a much lesser extent. The defect is on the bottom but only a small part .
I've a zenwatch 2
Recently I've noticed that there is a shadow on the screen, to discover then that maybe some pixels have died !!!!!!!!!
I've returned to dev. options and find the screen burn in protection disabled, enabled it and after restart returned to the dev. options and it's disabled again.
Tried to snap some photos, you can notice the circle in the middle :S

Have you tried setting "Always On Screen" to off. I disabled ambient mode to save battery, but it ends up leaving the display on for no more than a few minutes a day. That should practically eliminate burn-in.
Mine has the same problem, nothing is working, I have no idea how to fix
OLED displays are prone to this. I have an old Galaxy S2 that I used as a desk clock for a while, and it now has a clock pattern burned into it that shows up on very light screens. Note that while the underlying cause of OLED burn in is different from CRTs, the effect is similar. The pixels are permanently dimmer because they are dying faster.
The only "fix" is to display a negative image for a while until the rest of the screen "burns in" to match, which might be some trick on a smart watch (and it's not easy on a phone), so it's probably just stuck there. Also, even if you eliminate the burn-in, all you have really done is shortened the life of the remaining pixels. I'd just choose a similar face that tends to hide the issue and move on.
The only solution is to not have a static image on the screen for very long. For watches, this means letting the display turn off instead of keeping it on all the time.
Thanks all
Thought it was a software problem

I had to send mine in for warranty repair. This started after about four months use, without the always on screen. I just got it back, it took them about two weeks, but they replaced the screen, and it's good as new. I was hoping they'd load it with Wear 2.0 before they sent it back, but no such luck.

Hi, I have had my Le Max 2 for well over a year and it has been working fine. Tonight exactly one half(right side vertically) has a pink/green noise flicker on and off all the time. I've attached an image but of what is happening, although its the whole right side now and not just 3/4 of it. Also the previous screen I am browsing sometimes stays on the right side too.
Can anyone help with what it could be?
Cheers for your help

You need to remove the screen. Make the screen contact correct. Improve the badge. Secure with screws. Everything will be fine.
I have same problem, it shows up for 100ms, then it's gone. I have it appearing only while watching videos, never on normal use. With modem/firmware from 16s to 28s I always have this kind of glitch appear from top to bottom, on modem 30s it looks exactly like on yours 3/4 th of screen. Looks like software problem to me. I still have no solution for it
Hi, Im the original poster. My le max still does this every now and again but at the moment its fine. Mine is definitely to do with hardware. I believe its a loose ribbon. It sometimes starts if i drop my phone and i can also stop it from happening if i bang the phone upside down a couple of times.
You can try to squeeze phone just below sim slot, ribbon is located there about 1cm to the right from the left border of the screen. In my case I'm 100% sure, my problem is software related, since firmware changes glitch behavior. Unless firmware changes way how video chip communicates with the screen...
Sometimes 1 second, but I'm seeing it 1 or 2 times a week.
Rom doesn't notice
