Will my ZenWatch 2 (bigger model) get the 2.1 update? I did read the news that Google released new WearOS update, but couldn't find the list of watches that would get the update. I kept checking today, but nothing.

Where did you read that ZenWatch 2 will receive this update?
The strange thing is that the update for Wear OS 2.16 has changed the name in the menu About > Versions to Android Wear 2.16.

Hi, I'm sorry to interrupt I have an LG Watch R and I also researched about it, my watch runs Android 7.1.1 and before I had Wear OS 2.15 now I have Android Wear 2.16 and I did not get any interface change ?

Yeah I have the small zenwatch 2 and Friday it upgraded to 2.16 no interface changes. However often such changes require a Google play server side switch to be thrown so to speak. So we may yet see those changes.

I haven't even noticed getting 2.16(which is currently on my watch). When was that 2.16 version released and why there was no notification or a message about any updates?

Oh I see. So we should get a proper update by going to settings>system>about>software updates?

No, from what I've seen some people received via Play Store, it's not system update.

Please, share your device info like I asked in OP.

I was able to update my ZenWatch 2.
To force the update:
You must first uninstall the Wear OS app from your watch, then your smartphone.
Then update on the watch first and then install on your smartphone.

I tried this on my bone stock unrooted zenwatch 2 and no soap. Did not update.

I just got it today as a surprise after weeks ago watching about the new Wear OS version on Youtube, shocked to see we get it on a ZW2 really. I do love the way the watchface is better with four corner swipes and tap and hold on the face to change it, that will cut down on users who accidentally change the watchface to a different one.
1. Not rooted yet
2. Not bootloader unlocked
3. Stock ROM
4. TWRP not installed
5. Wear OS: 2.16.0.214308073
6. WI501Q

Mine has the same version of wear os and still doesn't have the new look. My guess is this has to be activated server side once the update happens.

[Q] No app update?

Today, the developer of an app has announced that his new version of app has been already uploaded to Play Store. However, after near half day, there was still no notification about the update from Play Store. Moreover, I tried to uninstall then reinstall it, it still the old version.
What actually happened to Play Store / developer / my phone?

Version of Android is not the issue, because some users using different phone also suffered from the same problem. (such as Nexus 4, Note 2, etc)

The update should include
-Android Security update.
-Stability improvements.
-Moto Mods support updates.
It's 536.1 MB
Is this update mainly to support the Moto Mods 2.0 ? or is there anything else worth mentioning?
Is there any way to download this without using the phone?
Is it possible to restore a twrp backup of the system partition of the new version?

Developers are already taking care of this. You will soon be able to upgrade via TWRP.
This is totally random but I thought I'd ask since I cannot find any info on it, does the Moto Z2 play have a notification LED ?

If you want to use hidden led (only white light) you can paste this driver (after unpacking) in /system/lib/hw. Remember to backup previous one.
PS Give right permissions and reboot, of course.

This is final release version dated 4-23
So I put the file on the internal storage and then I enter the recovery? I'm sorry, I can't remember How I did it last time.
So far build 2094 of Oreo is not available for the public yet. Although I hope to revive my paperweight from the forced energy saving mode using only two from for cores (as with Nougat 1560) to use it again.

The firmware update has been announced but is not yet available. A quick search or reading the thread would answer 99%
of the questions. Never understand why folks expect others to search the information.
Solve problems in marshmallow (auto frame rate, deinterlace)?
So, when the .zip file is released, will I be able to use the recovery to update to 8.0 via USB if I have the Nougat Beta or do I need to downgrade to 6.0?

If you have a mdz-16-ab your update will eventually come via OTA. Everybody waits their turn.
I have a mainstream box, not registered with beta program, running Nougat beta 1560. It is still constantly getting prompted to update MM build 1901. Naturally, it fails.
No telling if that will go away once the official OTA for Oreo becomes available.
My beta box, also on build 1560, got final Oreo release on Sunday last.

Disable system update notification

Hello, as for now i'm satisfied with Android 9 version 10.3.17 and don't want to update to buggy android 10 update. Unfortunately, from time to time such message appears:
"Android Update Required: Your Android OS Version is out of Date and Requires Updating"
Is it possible in any way to get rid of this message?
It is dangerous as you can click eirher postpone or to update now..
I also add that i have rooted phone.
Thanks in advance.

You might have luck by blocking OTA URL with a firewall or adblocking app like dns66/blokada or adguard (these work without root as a "fake VPN"). Apply blocking either system wide or just for Google play services (and maybe also update engine apk).
There is no other way without root as far as I know.

Even if you click on update now, with rooted phone it won't install.
To prevent system update notification you might try to disable SystemUpdateService (and possibly SystemUpdateGcmTaskService too) in Google Play Services (use for example app "Disable service").

Impression of Emui 10.1

I just get the update today on my VOG-L29 (via support app).
After the restart, I feel much smoother than emui 10, does anyone feel the same or it is just my suggestion ?
But the Huawei Home still don't have much features, the icon size (or the drawe layout) is way too big.
Btw, the split screen isn't work ?
It's annoying that they can't offer update on the same time for most or all users with emui 10.0. How long need I wait for official it's without using pc to flash newest firmware?
