As far as I'm aware, the Sprint Mega, like many Sprint devices, are strictly CDMA. The only exception I can think of is Crapple products which can be GSM unlocked with something called a GEVEY SIM which in my experience isn't exactly reliable. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the SIM card in most Sprint devices only controls the 4G LTE so it's sorta GSM but not really. My suggestion would be to look into getting the phones "flashed", or reprogrammed for another carrier. Here in my locality flashing CDMA devices to nTelos is extremely popular, as they have a $45 unlimited everything plan with no real data cap. They simply do a SLIGHT throttle after around 15GB. There are several other CDMA prepaid companies across the US. The only nationwide ones I can think of are Pageplus, Selectel, and maybe Straight Talk. All offer low cost unlimited plans. Some have data caps and throttling, but pretty good bang for the buck! Should you decide to try and flash for yourself, Wireless Workshop offers a "trial" account, if you can provide any kind of company information. We use them at our store and they can flash pretty much any major handset. All said and done, look into flashing those to a prepaid carrier, as these are AWESOME phones. Good luck!

Dude don't go telling everyone about how Sprint phones are strictly cdma. Im tired of people on these forums spreading misinformation. This is not the year 2008. Back then all Sprint phones were strictly cdma. Not so today and yes the Sprint mega has gsm capability. It's even listed in the settings, but is greyed out. So the Sprint galaxy s4 is strictly cdma too? Lol go do your homework.

"as far as I'm aware"
I was simply offering what I did/did not know for sure, and some information for a way to take it to another carrier that I DO know about. For one, I've never had a fully operational Mega in my hand to see that it offered a greyed out GSM menu in the settings. My bad, dude. :good:
In fact, I'm trying to resurrect one right now. Software is totally borked.
Anyway, good luck figuring out the GSM unlock!

I successfully unlocked the Mega to work on T-Mobile as well as the Sprint Note 3, Sprint Note 2 and Sprint S5
I'm working on making a program to UICC unlock the device without having to call Sprint to get it internationally unlocked, I also have a program that will open the service menu option to reprogram the phone if you cannot reach it through dialer codes.
Quite simple once you get the whole process down.

Hello, I'm trying to do some homework for a friend. Before I get him to root his phone, could his rooted note 3 be used on Verizon or any other carrier?
Thank you.

Verizon no. Gsm carrier maybe but not at full speeds. Buying a phone and wanting to get it working in another carrier isn't the wisest thing to do to save money. Phones are NOT 100% interchangeable between carriers. Your friend might have bought an expensive paperweight or 2g phone.

You have to get it internationally unlocked through sprint before you can attempt to do anything.
yes, you can take your sprint note 3 and run it on verizon. I did with pageplus and I have flashed a friends to his personl verizon account.

Can you explain your procedure for doing so? Do you need the MSL? Does Sprint need to unlock it for International Use prior to flashing over?
A link to a tutorial or even some directions would help him more than just stating that it's possible.

GSMArena has picked the same source and posted the news about the update on their website so source sounds reliable though I've never heard about the website.
It's just wait and watch now
Please leave news articles to the general section. Keep the development section clean. Follow the rules.
Ok when they say samsung galaxy note 3 neo does that mean all variant? Or just the specified model number?

This news is targeted towards Asian countries like India where 3G is prevalent than LTE so this could be SM-N750 3G. Not sure if it's single or dual sim .
As far as I know there's 4 variants (or may be more) of the Note 3 Neo so no clarity on that . The update was supposed to come in June as per similar screenshot according to source from Sammobile few months back

This device is an International GSM and is compatible with Tmobile
So no worries, but yes...technically it is not a Tmo device but unlocked will work just fine

Still doesn't belong here does it? I could post my Verizon model here since it's Sim unlocked and works with T-Mo, so this thread should really be in the general Note 7 area.
So when you say compatible - has anyone put together a list of frequencies for the various models? I'd like to find a Duos model to use with T-Mobile/Bell Mobility (Canada) with the maximum network compatibility. Really excited about this Note 7 - except for the non-removable battery.

No, because each carrier can have different exploits. If root comes out for my Verizon phone, but I'm on T-Mobile for a carrier then I wouldn't get my information from here.
Nope belongs in the other note 7 forum

No, if your phone is Verizon, regardless of what carrier you are on, you'd have to go to the Verizon forums to get the exploits for your phone. It's different hardware from the Tmo version.
EDIT: I think I read your comment wrong. I think I just iterated what you just wrote .

I'm glad you said that because mine's on the way to be delivered today... from what I understand the International can be rooted and I have T-Mobile service so I have to take mine back and by the international outright. Which I'm fine with. I just have to find someone selling it.

Feels slower than the htc 10
Sometimes one of the bands will not work in 4g speed ... that just depends .... pretty sure that will not be the case on this phone ....

Thanks for sharing by the way
I recently bought a Galaxy A60 and wanted to see if there were any modifications such as custom roms or TWRP / CWM, but when I checked the forums there wasn't any page for the Galaxy A60. I was confused so I installed XDA on my phone and used the device detection thing and it detected my device as a Galaxy Note 3. Am I the only one with this issue? If not will the Galaxy A60 be added soon or will it ever be added? What are the reasons for it not being on the forums yet?
Thanks!

I'm also confused about whether it has a Snapdragon 675 or a Snapdragon sm6150 myself. According to GSMarena, it says SD675 and on CPUZ it says SD SM6150. So I'm not sure about that. And yes it has NFC. For the price, this phone performs really really well.
