Hi,
I got the mate 10 pro with emui 8
App gallery litterly annoys the **** out of me. It opens up all the time you click app links or similar and then it say "this app isn't aviable"
I know the default app setting in the settings but I can't change app store there. Also I can't freez/stop the app gallery or deinstall it.
I don't have a rooted device.
Hope somebody can help me

See if you can remove Open by default in the app settings of App Gallery, then add them in the Playstore settings.
(Settings > Apps & notifications > Apps > App Gallery > Open by default)
It's set to always ask even tough it does not.
Also it say that it is set as default for some actions just like Google play does but it doesn't let me see for what it is set or change it...
Try to do the other way around. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Apps > Google Play Store > Open by default and make it Always allow

I find it annoying that ICS puts "albums" from all over the place in your gallery.
Anyone know if you can just show things like Camera, Videos and Downloads?
No joy in Q&A so wondered if anyone here knew?
Use this https://market.android.com/details?...GwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5zdHVkaW9rdW1hLm5vbWVkaWEiXQ..
If you are talking about photos from Google+ and Picasa showing up in your gallery app, you should go to Settings > Accounts & Sync and stop syncing (uncheck) both Google+ and Picasa. Then go to Apps > All > Gallery and hit the "clear data" button.
Now when you go into your Gallery app it will only show photos from your installed camera apps, videos and any photos you have downloaded.
If you are trying to hide porn, put those photos in a folder with a period in front of it (ex: .no-no-pictures) and the Gallery app won't index it
If this still doesn't help, you could use the Quickpic gallery app. With Quickpic you can long-press any gallery and choose to permanently hide it.

You know, I don't have G+ listed in my accounts/sync page. On both my SGS2 and my TPrime. I would like to remove those pics from my gallery but keep Picasa. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like I can remove G+ without removing Picasa as well.

Which method worked? The quick pic app or other method.
Edit update: OK, that quickpic method works perfectly. You can use that app itself as album browser n just exclude photos/albums from it or you can hide them from all apps. When you choose to hide it adds that .nomedia file to directory you choose. It worked and now it won't show up in Gallery. Only thing though, I used quickpic to "UnHide" that directory and it doesn't work. At least in gallery app. It'll unhide in quickpic but still stays hidden from Gallery app. Don't get it..lol I used astro, es file explorer, and root explorer. All set to show hidden files. Can't find that file quickpic added to that directory to make it stay hidden from Gallery app. No big deal really but I like to always be able to revert stuff back if I want. ANYONE else notice this or know how to find that .nomedia file to delete it? To see if stuff reappears in gallery. Unhide method from quickpic doesn't work and stuff stays hidden in stock gallery app.
I'm having the same problem. The gallery is showing all my pics from picasa and google plus. I went to my sync settings and neither picasa nor google plus shows up (and even if they did, I would still want google plus posts synced). Quickpic doesn't show any of the pictures, probably because they are stored online.
Any other ideas for cleaning up the mess in the ICS gallery?
EDIT- the Apps > All > Gallery "clear data" option worked for about a minute, then the gallery started adding picasa and google plus pics again.
How about hiding all the pictures from my game data showing?
Alright I got it to work. This is what worked for me:
1. Go to Settings>Accounts & sync>Google Account> and uncheck Sync Google Photos and Sync Picasa Web Albums
2. Follow almightywacko's instructions above and go to Apps > All > Gallery and hit the "clear data" and "clear cache" buttons.
After that, open the Gallery and only the pics and videos stored on the device should be shown.

The first bit. Sync settings and then clear data.
Hi guys. I've wanted something like Instagram but found a plugin that manipulates photos. It's called "Aviary Photo Editor". Just search 'aviary' in the play store (hate the name)... It is not a stand alone app but a plugin.
To access it after d/l
1. Go to 'Gallery'
2. Tap the menu button
3. Tap 'Share Via'
4. Go to 'Aviary Editor'
Its actually pretty cool and clean... but wish it was a stand alone app. BTW its free. Its also integrated with other apps like Facebook... but need to go to each individual pic and go to share and select 'aviary editor'...
This is just nice to have until 'instagram' comes out.
have you tried Vignette? Has all different type of Polaroid frames and good effects selection. Comes really close to what Instagram and Hipstamatic can do.

Simple Calendar Widget lags on first time (when I scroll into that Home Screen Pane). Any way I can force the phone to keep that app in the main memory? (Similar to making the Launcher Stay in the RAM).
Add this line to build.prop
sys.keep_app_1=com.something.something.. Just find the proper package name and replace it there
com.something.something

I placed the apk in the System/App. do I put the name of the apk here in place of com.something?
I looked at Android/Data and there in no com.xxx.xxx which is telling me if it's the simple calendar files.
Download app 'Pimp my ROM' from Google Play. Go to tools> Lock apps in memory.

Hi @gerri3003,
When you select the clock what happens?
If nothing happens, open Themer Settings > App Preferences > Clock, and change it accordingly.
Hope this helps!
Privacy is a major concern in today’s web industry. All Major Tech industries and web portals are serious about privacy. Individually, we all take privacy very seriously. Therefore, developers are trying to bring us apps that make sure our files remain private and safe from prying eyes of strangers.
# What can PrivateMe hide?
PrivateMe comes with tons of customization for the hiding features. Firstly PrivateMe can hide apps of almost all 3rd party. While hidden in PrivateMe, the data generated by these hidden apps will not be reached by other apps. At the same time, PrivateMe also can hide apps from your launcher, recent Apps list, App management in system settings and any other app trace on your phone system. Moreover, you can manage the notification of hidden apps. Secondly PrivateMe also can hide pictures, screenshot and other media files on the phone.

You can hide apps with a Launcher. I use nova launcher which has this feature.
On the v2.0 we combined Hide and Clone to the feature of Create Apps in PrivateMe, here is the steps for hiding apps:
First of all go to PrivateMe Apps Setting
Tap the + on the right top on home screen to enter App Creating list, you can choose to create local apps into PrivateMe or create new apps in PrivateMe through App market.
Hide new apps: type into search bar to find apps from App market and then install without records. Then you can access to this app through PrivateMe.
Clone apps: select from App Creating list to create apps you’ve installed, tap the app icon then will automatically prompt to create the app – detect app security – created successfully. When creating completed, the app can be used in PrivateMe normally. Now you can run multi accounts at the same time on one phone with the cloned app.
Hide local apps: after the app is created in PrivateMe, you need to uninstall it on your phone system, or later opening this app in PrivateMe to choose to uninstall from system, to completely hide this app, then you just access it from PrivateMe.
Mock Notifications: If you want to manage the notification of hidden and cloned apps, then go to PrivateMe >Home > Notifications > select block/allow/mock. And you can go to the Mock Notification Setting to customize your mock content.
Protect PrivateMe: go to the App Setting list of PrivateMe, here two protection solutions are available: Cover PrivateMe - cover PrivateMe as calculator and this calculator requires password followed by "=" to open PrivateMe; Lock PrivateMe - set the password to access PrivateMe.
Follow same method to enable the app. Just Simple like that!
Paid apps?
I tried to hide a purchased app, but the app can't "see" that I bought it so it won't run. What must I do to ensure the purchased hidden or cloned apps can run?
