My Nova launcher says 1%.
It says my Ad Guard is using 24%. But if it's blocking ads, I don't care.
Doesn't sound normal, mine says 2%
I use Afwall+ and Nova doesn't have internet access though
Uninstall, reboot and install from play store, maybe

Hi.
I need an app that kills all apps upon lock screen to save battery power so I don't have to do so manually.
Can any one advise a good app?

hi,
take a look at "fast reboot" app market .?there is a free version ,dont know if it has settings option ?( actually, the pro version has settings , to be correct )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greatbytes.fastreboot&hl=en
Install, open fast reboot setting ( small gears in left bottom corner of app )Select , 2 nd option "Auto reboot options " and tick your option's ...on unlock and you can set on lock also .
If you know this app, then you will know it does not really reboot but closes (kill ) and opens up app ,excellent app .
Been using it for years (you will see market figures thats it very popular )
good luck
The free version have no settings and I have to click the fast boot icon for it to close apps.
Thanks for the reply.
Anyone else have any good apps that can automatically kill apps when I turn screen off?

most likely you will remove that application, bcoz neither it will save your battery and may it drain more battery than saving by closing app.
If your application remain in BG, it will just take some RAM not juice, and everytime single application try to kill appliction in BG with screen off will drain more juice.
there is also in built option for this if still you want it, go to setting - development option - limit background process, you can set your desired level.
You can use ZDBox, its free and have so many utilities, the task killer can kill all non marked running tasks when lockscreen comes. Check it out, i love this app.

How do I disable the search box but keep the voice search feature of google now? What autostart services should I disable?
Get a different launcher
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Sorry I miswrote the question. I want to know how to prevent it from causing wakelocks on my phone, like how to disable the quick search box but keep the ability to use Google search's voice search.
The quick search box is part of the launcher. Turn it off in launcher settings. Not sure why you think that would be causing wake locks though. Its basically just a widget

If you are on 4.x you can use Greenify to do what you want. It will put apps into hibernation but still allow you to use them from the icons or widgets. It will also indicate which applications are at fault.

Well, of course if the wake lock is caused by a system service, then it's probably not safe to greenify it. But there is still a way, and it is mentioned in the faq in post #2.
Before doing that though, you should greenify everything that the greenify app suggests is running frequently, and then watch what happens with the wake locks in bbs.

I see com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox on the list of partial wakelocks, 2 hrs and 9 mins of wakelocks. I used to get 0 drain in 8 hrs and now I get about 1% per hour on idle due to this. I read somewhere that there is a way to disable googlequicksearchbox from autostarting but still keeping the voice search active.

it s googlesearchwidget.apk
What I'm still confused about is why you don't just turn off the widget.

Cuz I didn't know it was a widget causing this wakelock. Thanks for letting me know.
My second post in this thread literally says its a widget.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
It makes sense to want to keep the widget and use it, but not want to let it wakelock the phone when the screen is off!
It should be easy to set your phone to only wakelock for these three things: phone calls, sms, and alarms.
Thanks

I would like to warm this thread up a little: I have the same wake locks like stated in op but I don't have any Google widgets on my home screen, only clock and icons.
I have a xiaomi redmi note 4 with latest miui 8 stable
Any suggestions?

Hi there!
I used this guide: https://www.xda-developers.com/stop-wakelocks-android-without-root/ for trying to stop the wakelock... not sure it worked yet, because I only did it a few minutes ago...
Edit: Its an AudioIn Wakelock - so obviously Google Voive hotword detection... Turning that off (at least on the lockscreen) should help...

How do you know it is an Audio Wakelock?
I have everything disabled, no widget on my launcher no shortcut on my lockscreen.
Still I get about 5minutes of wakelock due to google quick search box. I checked all google app settings and disabled almost everything. Nothing helped, wakelocks persist.
I really like Smart Launcher and I'm just done customising it but everytime I open an app it just starts from the start.
I'm reading some stuff in Reddit Sync, I press the home button to quickly check another app and when I go back to Reddit Sync (or any other app) it doesn't resume from where I left. Of course I can open up my recents and go from there but I'm wondering if this behavior is normal?
I'm on a LG G2 4.4.2 by the way.
Try this .. Check settings-about phone-dev options then uncheck the Dont keep Activities if checked.. If this is not the solution, maybe the ram is insufficient

just wanna add that some apks normally do that error on resuming since the apk itself needs more ram for resuming..
I've noticed that the home launcher is being killed after opening apps such as google chrome snapchat or even gallery. It is annoying staying 5 seconds to see the launcher. Multitasking is almost impossible. How can I stop killing the home launcher?

Welcome to a phone which is poorly optimized, a ui which takes up a lot of memory and so on. And most of all, a discount mini version of a phone.
Sent from my LG-D620 using XDA Free mobile app
It is now 90% solved.. using RAM Manager pro with hard multitasking active, lock launcher in memory and VM heap size to 256. Also tried swap file but after creation it seems that it doesn't work after looking in memory info.
So how do we fix this, I could google and find that others are experiencing it, known glitch, but what's the fix or work around.
Every time you set it as default it goes back to the crappy emui launcher
I also just found out I can't change the default phone dialer, calendar and a few others using the default app manager, i just tried, but its defaulting to android hwresolver, calendar, etc...
i first froze it with titanum backup and that seemed to work... now uninstalled it with titanium backup (made a backup) and that got rid of it, much less memory useage now yay...
Can't seem to use an aftermarket lock screen either, keeps defaulting to the stock lock screen....
so it appears basically most of the system apps can't be changed even if you set as default seems to go right back except if you freeze or uninstall well that's lame...
I normally use ZUI locker and it's not sticking...
That's why they pulled the update. Maybe when it goes back up the issues will be fixed.

You can set your phone to have no lock screen by going to settings>security>screen lock off. Then set your 3rd party lock screen. I'm using CM Locker with no issues at all.
Alternatively, you can freeze the stock lockscreen as well, its called keyguard, but I find this unnecessary, once it's off in settings.

Please don't post that you can't OTA until you have restored the default launcher that you deleted.
I had his problem a few months back. You could try my post from another thread :
"Hi. I had the same problem on b606. Nothing would stick as a launcher as Huawei Home always overrides everything.
I got around this by installing nova launcher from playstore ( I'm sure any other launcher will work fine ).
Nova Launcher wouldn't stick as default launcher, Huawei Home always overrode it, so after making sure I had another launcher installed, I installed Rom toolbox pro and used the manage apps setting ( Titanium should also work). I scrolled down to Huawei home, tapped on it and selected "FREEZE". As soon as you do this, the option to set Nova as default launcher appeared and has worked perfectly ever since.
Like I said, you can use any other launcher, just make sure you have it installed before you freeze "Huawei Home" "

+1 on the locker issue. Hi Locker wouldn't stick for me even with the stock locker set to none and set to off in the security settings.
im using nova launcher and not having any problems except missed calls notifications
I have no mods - I simply went to Settings > Manage Apps > Default App Settings and selected Nova Launcher as my default launcher. Then, before backing out of the Launcher options page, I immediately rebooted the phone. It has stuck since.
I'm using 5.1 and nova launcher. I noticed this but found a solution. Open nova from the app drawer so your in the nova settings menu. Scroll down and you'll see 'set as default launcher' this seems to stick. Hasn't reverted back for me yet unless you fully power down your phone. As for the lockscreen I use Microsoft's 'Next' lockscreen. It allows you to just swipe down and still have he security of the system pattern lock.
