Hey everyone, would anyone want to swap their poco f1 for a mi 8 (6/128)?
No issues with the phone, basically brand new (under a week of usage)

Why'd you want to exchange. It's better than the pocofone and costs more.
I bet its because of the battery life, right? But im willing to trade my Pocophone to your Mi8.

Being an enthusiast I can understand preferring poco due to the great ROM scene and also Poco team is way more serious about providing support or atleast listening to customers

I'm a hardcore 'android techie' and love a more lively development community. As I'm coming from a device with 5k mah, adjusting to 6h sot compared to 10+ has been difficult for me.

Well I'm a techie too coming from LG smartphones. I also love it when the community is active. But I also love photography and video making. The OIS on the Mi 8 is enough for me to switch to it if I had the budget back then ?. I'd definitely exchange you if I could. And BTW why didn't you buy the OnePlus 6 instead and which city are you from ?

I personally don't recommend changing the hardware on it. It would be better to just flashing a new ROM and use modded gcam app.

Redmi note 5 pro Chinese ver is also great. But xiaomi phones are the best choice at this price. If you are comfortable with higher price, I'd recommend a used essential phone.

Ok.
Hey, guys. Sorry if this matter was already discussed here, but I'm in terrible doubt. Samsung S8 and Poco F1 are almost the same price in Brazil (where I live, of course) and I've been reading a lot about the advantages of having a "premium phone", even if it's from 2017.
But, at the same time, I totally love the Poco F1. I know the Poco's battery life is better, but: What about the cameras? Back and selfie?
The difference is THAT huge? Who wins?
Also, for reference, I guess the other features are really alike. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm sorry for the poor english. Thank you all in advance!

how can s8 be same price as poco , brand new set ? sammy camera are better atm
i have used both poco f1 and s8.
s8 ergonomic is too good. it will give you all round premium feel. go with s8.
either ways you wont be wrong as both are quality devices
S8 camera, display and audio is more better than Poco. If you not much in gaming S8 is good to go.

Boi, the government taxes here are so damn big that they truly are the same price. Pocophone in Brazil (tax included) is 2.000 reais (499usd)
S8 is 2099. I guess it'll cost about 1600 reais (399usd) by November, Black Friday. Thanks for your reply!

Do you think the selfie cam of S8 beats the Poco? I've seen some really good selfies with Poco (especially with the "bokeh effect").

If you go to zoom.com.br and search for the S8 (regular one, not plus) it costs 2099 in Brazil. And if you go to Mercado Livre and search for the Poco F1 (and scroll until you find a reliable seller) it costs 1999. It's unbelievable, but it's true.
For camera I'd go the S8, battery life is better on Poco and of course you have the latest Soc with the Pocophone.
I have both and love both but using the Pocophone more than the S8.
Note 9, now that ones still the bomb.....
S8 seems a better option IMO, s8 wins in almost everything except battery and performance, if you just want performance then you can get the f1.
Here in India s8 costs twice as much as f1, so for us poco f1 is much better value.
I really wish the difference were this huge, like in India. In Brazil, one dollar costs 4,03 reais. More than 4x. So a "cheap" phone like Poco is really expensive here. Note9 costs 1046.49 dollars here, in cash. If you're paying in credit cards (and by installments), the price goes up to 5k reais.
Anyway, I've seen some people saying the S8 camera is sh**t. Specially the selfie one. I'll search for more samples and decide. Thank you, guys!
Hello all, I'm looking to purchase either of these phones, and was wondering which one to get. I understand the Poco F1 has better specs, but the main thing in which I'm interested in is, which one of them has an easier bootloader to unlock? And which one of them will have better ROM support? The RN5 Pro already has some good ROM'S available, is the same to be expected for the PocoF1? The RN5 unlocking process is long drawn, does the same hold true for Poco?
Thanks!
I am using poco F1. It can handle anything you throw at it so you won't be needing any kinda of improvement for now. Also for this specs there will be lot of Dev support. My suggestion is poco F1. Also btw 636 and 845 there is a lot of improvement in performance.

As both these phones are reported to have touch issues, go for Pocophone. It's better in every aspect. Bootloader unlock wait is 3 days.

Rmn5 pro is a bit older and also two completely different segments.
I had the rmn5 pro 6gb version and did the upgrade to f1.
I honestly prefer everything about the rmn 5 pro over the f1 but the thing is the f1 is a high end spec phone, latest SOC, has treble support so customs roms Will flow with options and also it will be one of the most sold 845 phones on the market so yeah custom roms will for sure be massive and last but not least, it's the later of the 2 phones.
Pocophone is a new segment by xiaomi and xiaomi has to put focus on the phone with upgrades and fixes and what not. If they mess this up the pocophone will be the first and last.
The approach by xiaomi is genius as a oneplus competitor but for the way cheaper price. The aim in the future will for sure turn out as the oneplus did.

even if poco was not in the scene, there was no reason to buy rn5 pro after 8months. you could go towards all the android one phones in the range, or asus zenfone max m1 pro.
however, if you can afford poco, don't even think twice. it is superior in everything from all of those devices.
I sold my RN5Pro and got Poco F1. Day and night difference in camera and performance. Why would you even compare 5 Pro with Poco? Go for Poco.

It depends on you. If you can wait for 2 to 3 months then wait for poco f2 else buy this. Or if you have slightly high budget like 30k to 40k INR then go with oneplus or asus.
I prefer custom rom over miui.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I think F1 is worth the price a great phone imo, there's F2 coming but can't guarantee that it would come at the same price point just like Honor did. I personally love the phone had no issues whatsoever, I come from a Redmi 4 prime I was using Pixel Experience Rom, but with Poco I won't change MIUI full screen gestures for nothing it's just perfect.
It's definitely still worth it and it's still the best value smartphone available with top-tier internal specs. The battery life is great. The notch is annoying. Speed is great.
I prefer MIUI since it's actually quite good, the only problem is it didn't show notifications properly in the notifications bar. They say they're fixing that soon though. They provide easy more software updates than Samsung including the security patches.
I will probably also buy the F2 shortly after it launches provided it meets a good priceerformance like the F1.

Hello,
I have a stock Poco F1. Phone has been running fine for 3 years now.
Issue:
Phone shuts down & enters a bootloop.
I noticed that this was initially happening whenever I was unlocking the phone using Facial Recognition. I turned it off and the issue was gone.
Later, the same issue was occuring whenever I was using my Camera or scanner.
Also, audio on music apps & video apps like YouTube started getting muted during playback. Audio would come and go just like that. And then the phone would shutdown.
I tried hard resetting. But it hasn't fixed the issue.
If any of you have encountered such an issue and got fixed, please let me know.
Edit: It's a battery issue. Replaced the old battery & everything's solved!

The battery is still working well? Official battery is too expensive. Rs 3950 as per the service centers but in the website it shows Rs 4999, so Rs 6400 after including all taxes and labour charges. Also its OOS. 5-15 days wait time.

Finally found some peoples who have faced this issues and know what to do.
I have this poco f1 from around 3 years.
Whats the average life of this phone working at great condition.
I was earlier facing high active drain around 12-13%/h. I thought maybe the battery was dying out. But after I finally updated the ROM after several months gap active drain was much improved, 9-10%/h usually, sometimes as low as 7%/h. With bypass charging I think it should be good for another year at least if not more. Little short of 2.5 years.
My 5 year old Redmi devices in which bypass charging worked from the very beginning are still in the 80% battery health range.
