Hey everyone - having a slight problem with my all-time favourite wallpaper (which I brought along from my Symbian device) in combination with GO Launcher Ex.
Whenever I try to choose it as my homescreen wallpaper it gets zoomed in and very pixelated - TouchWiz doesn't have that problem.
Unfortunately Google & site search weren't able to provide a satisfactory solution ..so, anyone have an idea how to get it working?

Try to get that pic in 480 x 800 resolution, it will fit perfectly for portrait mode wallpaper.

Cheers mate, seems to have worked!
Blew the pic up to 480*852 first and then cropped 52 pixels from the top (only black anyways).
Resolution still seems to be fine enough.
Guess another possibility would have been to make a new all black 480*800 image and copy mine into the centre of that ..
Mmh. Will try that aswell.

Crap. Just installed the newest version of GO Launcher and back to zoomed wallpapers we are - regardless of size. Only way to fix it is to switch back to TouchWiz and then back to GO Launcher again - which sucks.

What if you use Wallpaper Set and Save or Wallpaper Plus? They come out very sharp when I use apps like these.
I have noticed this bug as well. I can get it resolved by going back to the default launcher temporarily, set the wallpaper there, then relaunch Go Launcher, and it seems to be correct. It only happens to portait pics where there is no background scroll though.
Could it not be due to the wallpaper being in scan mode (as you go through the 7 screens the background image moves along)? Because in my HD2 (in SD Android) would select a square-ish area from the centre of the image I wanted as a wallpaper. When I changed it to the same image for all screens, then the selection of the image was in the same shape as the screen.

Are those Apps? Haven't heard of them before and might give it a shot - however there's probably also a certain increase in battery use associated with that method, something I'm not sure I'm prepared to accept.

Yup, exactly the same here. If only it weren't for the GO Launcher Calendar widget, I'd try another launcher or stick with stock TouchWiz ..

I have unticked that option, the background isn't scrolling.
Meh..

The problem seems to be known but possibly not recognized as a problem by the GO Dev team:
After the research, it seems the wrong of Android system. Because the API we use to get wallpaper of system give us the zoom wallpaper.

Also, another possible solution seems to be https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture - however, Live Wallpaper = more juice required.
Same here happened. I just switch to TW luncher and back to GO luncher
Actually, installing the latest update of the GO Calendar widget seems to have fixed the problem.
When I installed it the wallpaper first bugged out again but when re-setting it, it worked fine without switching to TouchWiz. Perhaps that'll work for someone else, too.

Had same problem, stopped using stock gallery to select wallpaper, and started using qpix to select wallpaper, and it works fine for me now. Seems problem for me was the stock gallery app I was using to select the wallpaper.
Currently having the same issue and neither TW or GoLauncher is playing nicely with me.

I am having a problem I am using GO Launcher Ex and my backgrounds appear to be zoomed in a little bit even though when I'm setting the wallpaper it is fully zoomed out with the orange box. It has only recently happened because it never did that before and it happens no matter what wallpaper I set.
Android 2.3.6 CheckROM GT-i9100
Anyone have any answers?
Thanks.

Just an update: I found that switching back to twlauncher fixed the problem with the wallpaper! Switched back to Go Launcher Ex and it stayed fixed. Weird.
In case that doesn't work
Hey I found that my background would not scroll if I swapped to the tw launcher and then back, and it seems that its the default wallpaper selector. I use wallpaper wizardii and choose the scroll option when setting wallpaper and it works great.
How do I get to my Widgets tab?
I just bought a new Galaxy S III SC-06D from Docomo. When I press the applications button I only get an 'Application' and 'Recommends' tab, no 'Widgets' tab (this is obviously Docomo's custom interface since the 'Recommends' tab is just a bunch of junk apps the provider wants me to install).
The only things I have done to the S3 since I bought it are flash it to the newest version with Samsung Kies, change the language to English, and delete the Homescreens and Apps that my provider installed, and make a new blank home screen. I did not and do not want to root the device (despite wanting to get rid of some of the Docomo junk).
I am new to ICS so it is entirely possible I am missing something very obvious.
*Edit* I fixed the issue on my own. While I was under the impression that my device was using the TouchWiz Launcher (the default UI that comes on any Galaxy S III), Docomo had installed their own crummy launcher called 'Docomo Palette UI' which is specifically designed so that users cannot customize anything and have to see a bunch of Docomo sales stuff.
If anyone else ever has this same problem and sees this thread, just go 'Settings' (the gear icon that appears when you slide your finger from the top edge of the screen)-> Home Selection -> And choose TouchWiz home. You should get the option to set it as the default Launcher after choosing it.
Hello, I have been thinking about this for a while and I have read that more people than me are having the same/similar issues with the stock 4.4 launcher (gel) (Google search + launcher) so I have kind of located that the issue comes with an update of Google search and now I'm wondering why haven't any one modded the search to solve this problem?
What's the problem?
On all devices that have 7 dock icons, the most right icon is dissapearing since the latest Google search update, the issue wasn't there before the update.
Why did Google update search?
Because all new nexus 7 devices had problems with the launcher + search when running landscape. (Miss placed icons and widgets so it looked like crap)
How can we solve this?
I'm not an developer, but in some way I guess there is source code for the Google search app, both before and after the update, so I guess compare the two and find the issue, in some way find a solution, rebuild sign and upload for every one to try it out. I would gladly try it out on my devices (Samsung galaxy s3 240 dpi + mk805 rockchip 4.2.2 uses tabletmode by default) so I can see how they are reacting with the modded apk.
Is this possible?
Yes, probably with the correct developer(s)
Can't Google fix this issue?
Sure they can, but I don't think they will do it in a near future.
Any one up for it?
+1 for this request.
The disappearing icon in the lower tight corner of the dock (for example on the Nexus 7) is very annoying.

Installed the latest PA gapps and this problem gets solved
I just picked up the tablet and I noticed that I can't put icons within an inch of the screen that's active does anybody know why this is? Nothing seems to go to edge of screen.

As you're a xda member with 152 posts, I would have thought that you're savvy enough to know that every launcher has certain limitations - of course also the Sony launcher.
If putting icons nearer the edge is somehow important for you, then simply install another launcher who is able to do that.
I always have Nova Launcher on my devices.
Hi guys,
First post here so please be gentle with me.
After having a Samsung S7 Edge for quite some time, i took the dive to purchase the Mate 20 Pro (8GB/256Gb model with 256gb NM card) as a replacement which i am very happy with. I did not like the default interface Huawei has put in the phone and so installed the Smart Launcher 5... an app which i had on my Samsung.
All is well and fine up until recently when my clock widget on the home screen no longer updates.. or when it does, requires opening/closing apps and multiple screen wipes before it updates. Pictures below.

I've retried reinstalling the Launcher, rebooting the device, restoring launcher from backup, changing the clock widget to another application, removing and readding the clock widget.
Not a major problem, more of an annoyance. Is this a problem with the app itself or an issue with the patch update? Currently running EMUI 9.0.0.171 (C636E10R3P2)
Thanks

Happens to me sometimes, I think its more to do with battery saving. When the phone is running low on battery it aggressively shuts off background processes, and I believe it closes the process that updates the widget or something similar. It rarely happens to me though, I made sure the widgets are allowed to run in the background. But every now again it does re-appear, mostly like I said when the battery level is low.
I am using Nova Launcher and the Transparent clock weather widget.
