My SG2 screen glass broke and I was thinking to replace the glass lens only as the LCD and digitizer work perfectly, is there a tutorial or advice how to do it?

Thanks, but it is to replace the all LCD-digitizer-glass and I only want to replace the glass not the LCD and digitizer as they work fine
I would like to know this as well, as I am looking to change my glass screen lens due to a crack.
Anyone else have experience with this kind of thing?

Same problem here, only the glass is cracked. I have a new one, but i dont know how to change it.
Today, the screen of my beloved lte shattered. If it just looks like broken glass on the top of the lcd and the touch screen is functioning, what is the exact part that I need to replace called?
Has anyone replaced their screen in a local shop in Orange County, CA before that can recommend a place?
How about reputable members here or online vendor?
How much would something like this cost?

The glass/digitizer and LCD come as one piece, you can separate it wil a bit of patience. Just something to keep in mind

I don't think I trust myself to install the replacement myself. Tried it once on my og EVO and it was a total failure!

Called my sprint store and they said they won't touch any cracked screen. Didn't offer to buy the replacement part though. Maybe I can try asking them again. Did you guys install the screen yourself?

Knock on wood I have never crack any screens as of yet... Might have just jinxed myself hahaha try searching youtube you can find anything there
Replacing it isn't difficult. Read around. There's been a few threads here where people have discussed it.

Damn I just watched the YouTube video on how to replace the screen and the part with the heat gun looks pretty hard. That's actually the part that I messed up on my og evo as well.
I might just bite the bullet and but a new lte on Craigslist. Was thinking about trying an S3 but they are so expensive compared to our LTE...

I replaced my cracked screen with the etradesupply digitizer + LCD, and it's not the same. I mean it works, but it's...different. Touch recognition seems a little wonky, have a few stuck pixels, the glass doesn't have an oleophobic treatment, and I'm starting to get dust under my screen. Like, a lot of dust.*
If I had to do it again, I'd just have HTC repair it. Of course, it takes 10 days and they wipe your phone, but at least it's fixed properly.
*I had a local shop do the work for me. It's possible some of these issues are from the installation and not the screen itself.

No, I would've had to have sent them my phone first for "evaluation."
after flashing Nottach4g rom i have problem with screen, a part of touch screen not working (screen is ok, but touch not) and now its on all roms...
a tried pdsfix.img, but not helped me, maybe somebody cknow this issue and solved it?

Your digitzer is borked, you will need to replace it. There is a temporal solution in the forum with some piece of metal, for me it didn't worked, but a lot of people say is perfect, try it and if it works great! Otherwise you'll need to replace it, is not too expensive.

Buy the OEM refurbished one with front bezel included its simplest to repair with and is guarenteed no issues.

So I dropped my Optimus G and cracked the entire back glass that covers the camera etc. My local cell phone repair place that does good work can do it cheap but their vendor is sold out on the replacement piece. Does anyone have any idea where I could order the part(s) I need to replace it myself? Also does anyone know the proper term for the piece? The front LCD is fine its just the rest of the outer casing. Thanks

I just replaced mine, just go with this one.
And, its a good idea to replace the LCD and the digitizer at the same time. Otherwise its really difficult to replace. Anymore questions just ask. :good:

Amazon Housing
I ordered this housing for my phone. It was time for a white one. It looks amazing. I did this because it comes with the adhesive to put the screen on. All you do is peel the plastic off the adhesive then drop the screen assembly in, paying attention to where the cables are going.
