Hi, new user here. I have finally managed to unlock and install a custom ROM (RR) on my Redmi Note 4. I'm not satisfied with the quality and features in the default camera app. Can you guys get me updated on what's the best camera app for this phone right now. I'd like to have manual controls (at least manual focus) and good HDR.
I have tried the ported Google Camera but unfortunately it doesn't have manual focus and frame rate seems to be locked at 60fps.
Ofc it does have manual focus, what are u talking about?

AFAIK Google Camera does not have manual focus. It only has tap to focus.
If you're point n shot guy then Google Camera Mod with HDR+ is the best
if you like to play with focus, iso, shutter, etc then stock Camera Mod is quite good, you can also try One plus camera and of course open camera and freedcam.

But correct me if I'm wrong stock camera mod is only for miui rom. I will check out the other ones meanwhile.

is there any method to click pictures in RAW formats in RN4 working on ressurection remix rom?
I've discovered that in Ressurection Remix and probably other ROMs that the monochrome camera is accessible, and I can use it with the built in camera app. There's no blur support, though. Does anyone know any apps that can do it?
I'm looking for something that actually uses the second camera, rather than computer-generating it.
The Mi a1 camera port doesn't do it.
Just install Google camera hdr+ and use lens blur. Exactly same thing.
Today I have miui and the gcam app, but the portrait mode of the miui cam, although more exaggerated, seems to wok better. The gcam app uses the second sensor or do it all by software? If I install pixel experience rom + the miui cam port, the miui cam will be able to perform like in the miui rom (using the second sensor)? Thanks!

i think its impossible because thats not how gcam works
unless google themselves add support for a secondary depth sensor
I request Miui Camera mod for the Mi 8 Lite specifically.
There is a mod for the Redmi Note 5 that apparently works on the Mi 8 Lite too, but changes several parameters of the build.prop such as the model and the device's code name. When trying to change them the mod stops working correctly and gives an error message (can not connect to the camera)
There is also GCam, but with some bugs and errors.
Anyone who can make a functional port of the Miui camera for this device?
I would also like.
I'm waiting to unlock my bootloader and then i will try to port stock camera app ??

i successfully ported stock Miui Camera to Aosp based custom roms Platina device, for now i need to fix lot of bugs. Cheers

Front camera:
Working:Short video, Beauty mode, Group selfie, filters, taking pictures with timer for both portrait and non portrait mode, Sharpnes, contrast etc,camera 2 api 24mp
Not working:
Square photo, Normal photo, Portrait, Normal video rec, age gender, with camera2 api enabled instagram not connect to front camera without libmmcamera_platina_imx576_sunny Fix
Back camera:
Working:Short video, square photo, normal photo, manual mod, filters, Beauty mode, Group selfie, Tilt-shift,Straighten, Gridlines, Timestamp, Watermark,Focus Shot,Scan qr codes, Capture or focus with volume rocker,camera 2 api
fingerprint shutter, picture quality,, sharpness and etc, camera fram 4:3 16:9, Sounds
Not working:Normal video rec, Panorama, Portrait, Ai, Led flash
Lot of bugs but no one so serious, camera connect every time so i hope i can fix everything
Known bugs:Back portrait don't work, Hdr, AI, front camera portrait work after disabled beauty mode, bad quality blur for front facing camera on white background, interface glich somethimes..
Tested on last Mokee aosp build, install this module with magisk

Install Pixel Expirience CAF last version, install stock miui camera via Magisk and restart phone, replace vendor/lib libmmcamera_platina_imx576_sunny with this lib from zip and disable Hal3 support in vendor/build.prop and restart again. After this steps Miui front camera will work with 24.8mp, also Instagram, messenger etc will work like charm on 24.8mp ....
What about with Gcam? Without HAL3 enabled, it can't be used. Would there be any way for both cameras to work? Personally, I like both applications very much.
You can open a thread where you go picking up the different revisions of this port, so more people will try it.

For now there is no way to make working both cameras alongside with camera2api and Gcam, another great thing is that I managed to port portrait for back camera and utilize both sensors for depth and main shooter, later I will made thread when i finish my work

Bro how can i get back my stock camera in havoc os
Is there any better camera than stock? the flash on my device isnt working it makes the camera crash (3rd party cameras) and in the stock camera flash is not in sync with the shutter. GCam doesnt work for me it always crash/notworking/flash not working. is here any camera app or patch for the camera? I want the stock galaxy camera app if possible. also i tried several camera apps like opencamera, s9/s10 camera app playstore. Any suggestions?

Im using Footej Camera, its by far the best as I would say.
The camera crash bug is a general Lineage bug, this is not something that can be fixed by using a different camera app. This has to be fixed by Option58 in the Lineage sourcecode.
Also, using camera app from stock ROM wont work because it needs the touchwiz/samsung framework which is not present on ROMs other than stock
