hello guys ...i bought POCO F1 few days back , even my friend has same device.....it is working fine and everything is smooth but i have few questions , hope you people help me with it.
1. when i compare my device with my friend device , there is lot of difference in screen , whites are more brighter in my friends device whereas in my device , they are looking normal (may be dull, dim). what is the reason for it ? is there anything to bother about it ? shall i go for replacement ?
2. i performed antutu test on the device , after the test is completed , device got heated upto 41 degree , test took around 6 mins to complete ......is this normal ? as this device got liquid cooling , heating is acceptable ? shall i go for replacement ?
help is much needed ....!!!!!

1. Check Ur contrast levels and reading mode settings.
2. Yes benchmarks will raise the temp but it should cool down fast. Btw what was the room temp at that time

2. when i started the test phone temp was 35 D , room temp was 30 D , when test completed , temperature reached to 41 D and yeah it cooled downed quickly ...but is this normal , did you experience same ?

Maybe if contrast and reading mode settings are same, ucan look at both the phones together at maximum brightness or comparative brightness and then judge. No harm in showing to service centre if I still feel Ur display is inferior
I am no expert about LCD panels and cannot comment on what variation is acceptable.
I have the feeling that my dispay has the same dull color. Haven't compared it to any other poco yet, but colors seem to be washed out, comparing for example with a mi5 or an iphone.
You can check the display manufacturer and see if both have the same panel installed

What is the display model?
I have Tianma if i remember correctly. I am on LineageOS and cannot check now but I'm 99% sure.
You can check by going to Settings > 'About Phone' > Tap 'Kernel Version' a few times
Select version info and it will display a bunch of info, including manufacturer, in 'LCD'.

even mine is Tianma ....everything is fine , but when i compare to my friend device , colors are looking dull especially "whites" ...not much difference in other colors......is this any problem ?
It happens a lot with cheap displays when doing screen calibration, it signals bad QC but that's it. it's hard to find two displays that are 100% identical even more noticeable with cheaper ones, I say it indicates nothing but an improperly calibrated screen at the factory, if it doesn't bother you then you have nothing to worry about. Otherwise, I suggest that you return it.

Press kernel version 7 times which will start CIT in there choose nr 1. Check Version info.
Do that on both phones and check the "lcm information" it's in the bottom, might be reason to why picture is different between the two.
Different lcd panels maybe?
Check picture, that is my version which is first generation pocophone F1 with 128gb storage.

If both phones have identical parts than yes there is definitely something wrong with quality control at xiaomi.
Check Version and see, decide your self if you can live with the "issue" if yours looks bad, only you can be the judge of it being bad or not.

I notice there are stuck pixels on my reno 4,is that normal?do you have stuck pixel ?and anybody knows how to fix it?
i have notice but i see them only when booting my phone there are many .. But i dont see them when phone is booted everything is perfect so i dont think its problem
I think there is a percentage basis depending on the manufacturer but If you have anymore than 3 dead pixels I would be looking to have the panel replaced under warranty.

not really stucked pixels, you should try with maximum brightness, black screen to see when you phone boots up completely.

How about yours?
it happened to me lol. The MI bootlogo got stuck for 1 minute. It was like an amoled burn in but after that it went away.
HOW IT HAPPENED: I was installing a ROM and it took some time to boot at the MI logo (3 minit) and the MI logo got burned on the screen. After that I used the phone as usual and the burn in MI logo disappeared. I cant guarantee my problem is the same as yours tho.
When I bought my phone I checked it for like 5 minutes in the store to make sure that I don't have any dead/stuck pixels and only after I verified that I bought it.
Anyway I think they won't cover it under warranty unless it's more than 3 pixels but you should try anyway.
And by the way burn-in and stuck pixels are different and since this is an LCD display the burn in will go away after a few minutes but a stuck pixel can stay forever even if it's not a dead pixel.
It's a known problem with the Redmi Note 4. The panels are bad \ low quality.
A shame really, great phone other than that.
It seems the number of stuck pixels is increasing with time. I also didn't have even one stuck pixel when I got it, and I have around 20 after 1 month of use.
Yep. Have stuck pixel. When I got it, I checked it and did not have any. Over time two appeared. Since it's a low budget phone and low quality , i think it's normal. I usually buy a phone with quad hd screen to bypass this problem. Cause with quad screens, the dpi is so high that you won't noticed any dead or stuck ones. But oh well, you get what you pay for.
Has anyone replaced screen panel and fixed the problem?
bump, looking for a solution to this.
i got that too :crying:
because mido have 2 type lcd
i forgot the name
1 type is have a good quality
and 1 type have a normal quality
So after month of owning this phone (SD version), yesterday I noticed that there was green pixel on dark backround. After a while of looking at black picture with max brightness, I noticed several small red-blue-green dots all over the screen, which weren't visible on other backrounds. I have already sent it to repair centre (free screen replacement). I just wanted to ask, is it frequent problem with RN3 or I was just unlucky? Is there any side effects of replacing the screen?
I'm using this device for about 6 months now and i haven't seen even one dead pixel in my phone till now, but I haven't noticed even one dead pixel on the screen till now...
So, I guess you were unlucky and your device had this problem...

I have rn3 sd version.
and I noticed 3-4 dead pixels on the screen
it cannot be seen on regular usage. hardly can be noticed when lcd test (dark screen full brightness)
I think many rn3 phones have same problem. many users just have not noticed yet.
it's common and expected, for the price you won't get the best panel, i also have 2 stuck pixels, one green and one red
Yeah I got one too and maybe 2-3 more...but not visible in normal usage.
Happened after like 5-6 months.
hmm, it seems that many are having stuck pixels, mine just had too many and it's free screen replacement anyway, so Thanks for replies guys.

I couldn't spot any dead pixel on my phone....
I guess I'm the lucky one then:fingers-crossed:
Some of my friends have the same device and they also don't have any dead pixels...
Well, see if your replacement panel also have the same issue...
Edit: I don't think that's a kernel bug as many users including me are on Radon and none of them reported this issue...
I have a unusual red fingerprint that barely visible on the bottom part of my screen.
You can only see it on still black screens and you will have to look carefully to see it.
It is a comment problem to LCD screen my all phones have dead pixel except Redmi note 3

Creaking is actually common on RN3. Althought mine didn't (well, I was using a silicon case) and I don't think screen replacement did that, unless service center did a bad job at it.

Actually back panel is rubber glued. (The speaker and upper panel) I think when they open up phone, for screen, they removed rubber glue, so now it creeks against plastic..
Hi there. I own a redmi note 4 and I've been using it for a month now. Last week I noticed some odd icons on a plain grey wallpaper and realised that the display has an image retention problem. I could notice Facebook icons as well as whatsapp ones that I had used just a minute before. Any app I use immediately leaves a residue in the background, even at low brightness. I immediately went to the nearest MI service centre and replaced the LCD panel under warranty but after getting home and taking a closer look, I realised the problem still persists. Any help regarding this would be highly appreciated.
There is no fix. Generally the retention goes away after a few minutes-hours.

Yes, it does go away after a while, but is this normal across all redmi note 4 devices/ devices with IPS LCD display? One of my friends has the same device and he hasn't noticed anything like this so far..

I had it on my mtk redmi note 4. Now im using snapdragon rn4 havent noticed it tough but i dont stick to one app for a long time though
I found fix run this app for 30-1hr then cooldown your phone
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blasterbyte.burn_infix
And use this app to prevent screen burn
Bluelight filter - search on playstore
See mine after i run this app my burn is gone
is the solution permanent? does the problem happen again?
Found Fix
I found the solution.. Just flash havoc rom will fk kernal.. Use smart pixel feature. Set the smart pixel setting to 25 percentage... And in display setting go to colour and set all the value to 95 percentage.. Done ??
So guys... I found something odd on my Mate 10 Pro... I bought it on Amazon and received it on the 22nd of October and of course I've been using it since to take a lot of pictures with its magnificent camera... Now, we all know that it can take some great pictures with the night mode even when handheld, with those magical 4 seconds of processing...
The thing is, when I took a picture in very low light with the phone stabilized (like against a window from my house) it would actually take more seconds to shoot the picture if needed to get an even more incredible result than when handheld. Once I took a picture where it took 51 (!!!!) seconds to shoot it but the result was amazing, a lot more light than I could even see with my own eyes...
Now to the problem... A few days ago I tried to show this amazing capabilities to my brother by putting the phone on a table and shooting the ground (it should automatically detect it was stabilized and do a longer exposure photo as it did before...) and it only took a 6 second picture... since then it has never done the longer exposure thing anymore!!
I didn't know what could've happened for it to get this way... and then I remembered I did a firmware update (to version 156) a few days before I tried to show it to my brother... and my question is:
HAS HUAWEI somehow NERFED the night mode ?!? (Possibly to make it look that much worse than the Mate 20/Pro)
Look at this comparison I made using the same settings (Auto ISO and "Auto Seconds" on Night Mode):
Before it took this picture when the phone was against my rooms window looking outside (I remember it would detect the phone was stable and would take a longer exposure to take advantage of being still to capture more details):
{

Now, this is the result in the same conditions (against the glass, Auto, etc etc)... Now it only ALWAYS goes to a maximum of 6 seconds of exposure time EVEN perfectly still like on a tripod!
Another comparison of a mat on my living room (taken with only the light emmited from the TV being turned on)
Before (was a crazy long exposure):
After (only goes to 6 seconds... WTF)
I'm sharing this as more people may have been affected without maybe even knowing!!

My camera APP version is: 8.0.0.302

This was what I was worried about when they reduced the exposure time. I wish they kept the old night mode as a second option for times we have a tripod.
Yeah, same here. Only short, blurry, useless night mode. Enjoy Huawei. First the custom ROMs, now this. To be fair, nothing surprises me anymore after the bootloader lock...
Nevermind I am dumb. Swipe up from bottom, and you can adjust the time by hand. Actually went into HiCare and saw it mention this.

The old night mode is still there, at least on .150 update. You just need to manually specify that you want longer exposure.
I've got a 5 sec night mode picture from 30.10, I updated to .157 on 1.11, so I'll do a comparison when I have the time. It could be a bug or an intentional worsening of the mode to favor the new Mate 20 Pro. I guess will see...
I noticed it.The night mode now requires a tripod
It works fine for me on emui9 beta.... sometimes it does not detect that it is stable .... i guess it would be better to add a manual switch.
I fix this by grabing my phone, moving it for a second then i put it back in place... maybe the little movement from pressing the shutter button is enough for the phone to think its handheld.
They did not remove the tripod mode, i think its just a little too sensitive

I tested mine in the exact same conditions as when it worked... Now it always only goes to a max of 6 seconds resulting in a very crappy photo when compared to the "old" results... But anyway, I think it may be a bug as a guy in another forum said he is on the same firmware as me with the same Camera App version and his phone still does a longer exposure on Super Nigh mode with both settings in Auto when doing it with the phone stable on a table shooting a mat or the ground...
Mine just seems to be acting crazy...

I am with .150 update - the maximum exposure is 32 seconds. Don't know where this super night mode was , but I am sure it is something on your end. No changes made by Huawei.

Read my first post properly and you'll understand. Anyways, if my phone is flawed I'll just return it on Amazon.FR
Already read it, no drama. There are TWO totally independent modes and even Huawei wont accept or understand your claim. Use them accordingly. As mentioned the maximum exposure on Night mode with tripod is 32 seconds.

No, you're wrong. On manual mode it is a maximum of 32 but when in auto mode if on a tripod or stabilized in an equivalent way it will go more than those 32 seconds. Mine went to 51 seconds many times before it stopped working properly.
Will test it now and will let you know.

Thanks, but my warranty is out of date. My local repairing store tell me that I have to change the screen because it's a hard defect.
I used to work in Samsung Display so I think it's not a display screen problem because the sound of phone's speaker also become terrible after that. Maybe it's just a power control problem but I don't have any technical support.

But for sure it's not software related.
I would go and ask for a formal quote where they affirm it's a display issue.
That way if they change it and issue persist they won't be able to charge you. Also first comment them that you are suspecting more a power issue related on the board, so they can do a test before they quote you the display change.
Not all tech support stores has qualified people, so you must cover yourself for not getting charge for things that weren't failing and just for the root cause
