Phone Switching off and Restarting only after Wipe - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Recently I've encountered a problem on my Redmi Note 3 Pro 3 gb ram 32 gb. I've been using custom ROMs and Kernels for a while. One day my phone switched off after getting warm. It switched on after some time. Then I tried Wiping Cache and Dalvik through TWRP and it didn't work as I had the same problem over again. Then I tried flashing another ROM through TWRP and I couldn't complete it as my phone restarted while I tried to flash a new ROM. Then I tried copying my files from phone to USB OTG and that too failed as phone continued to restart. The only option I had is using Fastboot. I downloaded the latest Global ROM MIUI 10 and flashed new ROM using MiFlash. Phone booted perfectly and after I synced my Mi account and Google account the phone switched off again and when I tried to restart it boots up till lockscreen and switches off Immediately.
Again I booted up Xiaomi Recovery as TWRP was now gone and Wiped the ROM and it booted up normally, after few tries I finally didn't sync Mi or Google account and Didn't install anything on phone as it might switch off again. I'm pretty sure it'll switch off again. Other than that I think the device is okay as I'm posting this thread from the same phone. It couldn't be a ROM issue as you can see I've tried different MIUI ROMs even the Custom MIUI ones. What could be the reason for this behavior? I hope someone could help me as it is my main device and this issue is driving me nuts.

Make sure u selected clean flash while flashing fastboot rom including cleaning user storage and internal sd.
Dont encrypt.
Are u rooting ? If rooting use magisk only.... not supersu.
Remove sd card, sim card . clean it. Put back.
If still cant solve....open back cover. Remove both battery connecter and connect again. Charging board flex connector on both end and connect again. Sometimes carbon can create problem.

[Q] Mediapad 7 - Strange battery behavior (no real battery life question)

Hi Guys,
i have a serious problem with my mediapad 7. I dont use it very often since i've bought me a nexus 5. So it lays some weeks with no usage on my desk. Yesterday i've tried to start it, but it shuts down after reboot, with a battery is empty message. So i have loaded the battery the last night (it should be 100%) but today it still shuts down after booting with the empty battery message. Also, if it is connected at the charger during the boot process.
So i have booted in recovery mode (TWRP) and have wiped the whole system, installed it new and booted it up. Still battery error. So i have deleted the batterystats.bin file in recovery, but the problem remains.
My RomVersion is Cyanogenmod 10.2.
So. Before I begin to disassemble the tablet and change the battery, I wanted to ask if anyone has a tip for me here.
Best regards,
Jacob
If you formatted the data partition it's bricked. Data should just be wiped, w/o the media folder.
W/o a working nandroid backup, i once had to reflash the stock recovery via usb, then flash a rom with the dload method(sd card), stock 4.03 or the rooted variants Comec v2.1(didnt work for me) and CleanICE. As in CleanIce the Network Location service was missing, it was only good for reflashing TWRP and now being able to install roms thru it.

Continuous PIN requests after upgrade to 7.5.3.0 Global (SD)

I had the 7.3.2.0 Global on my RM3Pro.
Today I decided to upgrade it to the 7.5.3.0 so, using MiFlash, I flashed the fastboot rom (just to clean up everything).
The system boots up, but it continuously asks for the PIN of my SIM, about every minute. I tried reflashing the rom different times, but nothing.
So I tried to reflash the 7.3.2.0 and, guess what, same problem even there (never had it)!
Now I reinstalled the 7.5.3.0, but there's always this problem that makes the phone almost unusable.
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance
UPDATE: Now, sometimes it asks for the PIN (again), sometimes it reboots
Try using a different SIM card.
I know it should be the first thing to try, but I hadn't any problem until I installed the new rom...
using ADB / TWRP file manager / other-ways-you-can-think-of-to-manage-files, do this:
rm /data/system/locksettings.db /data/system/*.key

after that, reboot

Signal problem

At 40% battery or below I suddenly lose signal. Doesn't come back on even when toggling airplane mode. Only comes back after a reboot.
Don't know if it's firmware or ROM related. I've tried 7.3.2 - 7.4.6 firmware, still happens. Happens on all the Nougat(haven't tried any other versions not even Miui) ROMs I've tried(NOS, AOSiP, Pure Nexus)

1) Full wipe system, data, cache, dalvik, internal storage and format with must use type "yes".
2) install firmware and ROM.

I always do that when flashing(I get OCD even though I know some parts aren't necessary sometimes). But problem still exist. Don't know if it's because of auto select network or something. I think there's only 1 time when signal isn't lost for 1 day. I just have to live with one reboot a day.
I'm also facing this issue. This happens every time to me no matter what my battery percentage is, i also flashed all kinds of miui roms even the oldest lollipop roms, but the issue still persist. Rebooting the phone only brings back network for sometime ( 10 minutes approx.). I also tried the same sim card on different phones, and it worked good. Also i have a second 3G sim which works nice, i think the problem is with 4G sims only.
If anyone has any fix please share.. :crying:
I was facing this issue few days back, now it's showing no sim card.
Only way I find to solve this issue is removing sim card, restore miui from fastboot, clean flash rom and insert sim again after first wizard setting

Phone restarts every 20 seconds after stupid wipe and installed via fastboot

Hi i wiped everything in advanced wipe(dalvik,system,data,internal,cache,cust,persist,usb OTG,imei1, imei2)(yes i'm stupid)
and then installed latest MIUI rom via fastboot everything works, but the phone reboots after 20 seconds I was able to configure device to the last step when u have to wait about 1 minute to be able to use the phone. I tried to install other version(stable instead od developer) and other custom rom however the problem remained. (TWRP works) I had a backup on the sd card but accidentally deleted it today... I tried to recover it with some program but it does not detect the phone, and I do not have an adapter for the sd card. Please help. (Redmi Note 4 3/32 Snapdragon mido)

Share ur solution! Perhaps it will help someone.!
I wiped important system files that do not overwrite after doing fastboot flash. In my case backup helped, if you do not have it, I would try to describe the problem for xiaomi maybe they would publish required files.

Dead touch screen after updating to Android 10 - xiaomi.eu rom

Hi
Today after installing the update to xiaomi.eu rom, Android 10, my touch screen just died. I tried flashing 3 various roms by MiFlash with no success. I am able to use fastboot, adb and install TRWP but no matter what I do the touchscreen is dead making the phone useless.
When I boot it up I get asked to unlock it by providing the password to my mi account, which previously worked, but currently I'm unable to use my phone.
Anybody had a similar issue? any way to fix it?
Did you choose clear all option when flashing from fastboot
Yes, with no result unfortunately.
Can you use the touchscreen while in TWRP/recovery mode? If you have a OTG cable you can connect a normal USB mouse to your phone and use that to navigate. Maybe it is just locking up at the password boot stage?
Try to flash it back to stock with stock recovery with a different build date preferably 9 and see if you can wipe it that way......
will try both ideas later today
SOLVED
I finally managed to get it back to life. It turned out that I must have damaged the touch drivers and flashing the phone by fastboot didn't help at all as the drivers are located on prevent partition (as I was told by someone)
So the thing I did was to flash a custom kernel with touch drivers. I used franco kernel kernels.franco-lnx.net. First I installed (using physical mouse) xiaomi eu android 9 rom, than I flashed the franco kernel for android 9. At that point the touch screen came back to life. Afterwards I was able to update to xiaomi eu android 10 rom with no problem.
Hope it can be helpful for anybody with similar problem.
