Hi,
I got an I9108 recently (from China Mobile). Found a very serious and strange battery drain issue. The phone works normal at day time. but at night, 8 hours stanby can eat 50-60% of my battery, for both of my batteries. Had a check by the service center, they siad the phone has no issue, and gave me two brand new batteries, problem still exist. I turned off almost everything: Wifi, GPS, background update, GSM data, etc. Battery usages shows Android OS is eating >80%.
One funny thing I noticed is: if I put the phone in a warm environment (say in quilt when sleeping), the battery drain seems to be normal: around 5% for 8 hours stanby.
I installed Battery Monitor Widget, and set current monitor to be every 5 minutes. I noticed that normal standby (day time, it is normally warm as I will put the phone in my pocket) current is around 5-10ma. When making a call, the current is around 25-40ma. But at mid night (realtively cold, may 10-15C), the current can easily be 50-60ma (not evry minute). So basically night time stanby is consuming more battery than a call.
Anyone see similar issue before? Any solution? Help is great appreciated.
Find/install BetterBatteryStats (thread on here or Market). Allow your phone to run overnight/for at least a couple of hours with it installed.
Read the first 10 pages/last 10 pages of the BBS thread on here so you have an idea of the info the guys on the thread will need from you in order to identify what's causing this drain & help you possibly improve this battery drain issue.
Ok, I've download BetterBatteryStats. will let it run for today and send updates tomorrow.
Looks to me the issue does not seem to be App related. Since it goes with working temperature, may it be possible that at night CPU just could not down the frequency to 300MHz but just keep working at 1200MHz?
anyway, will see how it goes for tonight.
Had it run for a night. Found partial wakelock: RIJL, ActivityManager and Alarm Manager are the tops 3, but all below 1.5%. AlarmManager seems to have a lot of count though (>2000)
For Kernal Wakelock, found samsung-battery is the one using 35%.
How should I fix it?
Ask in the BBS thread on here (search for it).
Got my issued solved by replacing the MB. Now stanby battery drain down to 5-8% for a night (8-10 hours).
Thanks for help anyway
Hello,
I own a Jiayu G4 Advanced for about a week now and I have been having these weird battery drops. Whenever it reaches about 40%, it drains to about 10% in just minutes. Anyone else experiencing this or know a solution? I already tried battery callibration, newer version of the ROM and even a factory reset without result...

You can install some battery saving apps such as Du Battery Saver, Battery Doctor, Juice Defender etc. It may help you to stop the drain of your battery.
Hit THANKS If It Helped You
I don't think that will help, since my battery is not draining fast in general, but only when I reach about 40%. So something must be using a lot of the battery but I don't know what.
Old Problem
Its an old prblm with android. Android is power hungry. I think theres a prblm in your battery.
Same Problem.
Hey, i got a Jiayu G4 Advanced, also having the Problem you described.
For me this happens when the battery reaches 30%. After that it'll go down to 15% in minutes, and from there on it becomes normal again.
It's not caused by powerhungry apps, because when it's over 30%/under 15% it drains normally.
I already used a battery calibration app and also fully discharged the battery - both didn't fix it.
I assume that it's software relate, maybe a bug in the ROM? I'm too lazy to try other roms right now, maybe i'm going to give those MIUI roms a shot later this week.
Just to say that I have exactly the same problem with my recently bought Jiayu G4T. The battery usually takes somewhere from half a day to 1 day to drop 20%. However, between 30 and 40% it starts dropping with a speed that's even greater than playing a game while using all 4 cores for some other power hungry tasks. From 35 to 15%, which is 20%, it drops in like half an hour (and not half a day or 1 day). And then, from 15% to 0%, it again takes something like half a day.

Same issue here. JG4 advanced (or turbo, whatever) 3000 mah. Very fast drain from 40% to 15%. Pretty sure that's a software issue!
Someone there can help us?

As already said, calibration does NOT help. IMO it's seriously the ROM's fault, here's why.
JIAYU has 2 memory versions : 1/4 and 2/32. (RAM/ROM) , and most ROMs are prepared either for 1/4 (1850 mAh) or 2/32 (3000mAh) .
You probably have 1/4 3000 mAh version, and to make battery work find specific ROM.
Hey,
Now i start to think diffrently. Maybe it's hardware issue.
There are 2 types of battery: li-pol and li-ion. Please post what your battery is if you having this drain issue.
Compare to photos in attachment.
I'm having this issue and have li-pol battery.

Hello guys!
Do all x98 Air III tablets have battery issues?
My tablet is under warranty, so I wondered if they give me another tablet if it will have the same issue!?
My Teclast x98 Air III (M5C5, 32 GB, Android 5.0) tablet's battery drains fast from 100% to 18%, then stays stuck at 18% for 3-4 hours, then again drains fast. When it drains fast it goes down for 1% almost every 1 or 2 minutes. Also my Android say the battery capacity is 4980 mAh, and not 8000 like it's supposed to be.
I tried to fully drain the battery and then to charge it again, but it didn't fix the issue.
I was wondering if there is a custom ROM that can fix this problem?
Please someone help to fix this problem!
Thank you!
What do you think about the P10 battery life ?
I'm not happy at all ! With my P9, I loose 2 % during the night (8 hours). With my P10, I loose 10 % (same settings, same apps,...). I have difficulties to finish my day with a charge... My max is 4 hours of SOT. There is a huge difference between the P9 and the P10...
My last hope is a good update quickly ! I'm looking at the S8 now...
What do you think guys ?
I have exactly the same battery life on P10, as i had on P9... But EMUI 5.1 is not killing background apps, as it was on 5.0 - so maybe something drains your battery?
I read that some updates are probe to be pushed to P10 owners... that will solve the curent problems.

Have you done factory reset after OTA, or just Cache wipe ? Mine after update seems to drain battery faster....

For me it's the same. Phone is still completely useless when wifi is on.
Android OS is killing my battery... Very high drain!!!
After updating to B130 from B100, my battery got much better. Still having 20% at the end of the day (11:00 PM) with the same usage pattern (on B100, I had to plug it into the charger/power bank) as was 20% on my way home (5:00PM).
How many hours of screen do you get daily?
I guess Huawei missed something in their otherwise very good battery management system on this phone.
To those having issues with draining, you should remove facebook and facebook messenger.
They have managed to give the background processes that slip through battery management systems.
Even when one check in battery monitors like gsam, one see only Android system as the culprit whereas facebook is the one causing the wakelocks.

Yes I am also facing the same battery issue...
I think the battery life time of p10 is more better than p9. When i'am using p9 its OS kill my battery timing . Mostly after updating the mobile its life time is decreasing.

JoyUI 12 ? If yes, same problem here. Report the problem for black shark and wait for fix.
i kinda found a work around. but i had to factory reset my phone. then went to settings searched for battery optimization then optimized the apps i can optimize. then selected a few apps to disable background running. now it's 7%-8% drain for 11hrs. still not that good but way better than 30% drain on idle for 5hrs. i even remember when it was new. i guess it was na os version. i only get 1%-2% drain on idle/overnight. but i guess we'll just have to wait for future updates. i hope this will be fixed soon.
Same issue for me, Android system is killing my battery, 40% drain each day without any use...
Please could someone offer a solution?
