What is init.d?
init.d is a folder placed in /system/etc wich has been legendary used since the old android times to run scripts at boot. I've decided to make this simple script becouse lots of my users on my AmazBoost MOD thread were asking how they can enable init.d on stock ROM or simply on an unsupported ROM. It's easy to run and doesn't require any kind of coding skills!
What you need
- AmazFit Stratos/Pace
- Rooted ROM
How to install
1) Download the mod zip from download link and unzip it
2) Connect the wath to the PC
3) Place the enable.sh file inside your adb folder and open there a command prompt (or terminal for Mac OS/linux) then type the following codes:
Code:
adb root
adb push enable.sh /sdcard/
adb shell sh /sdcard/enable.sh
4) Done!
5) You NEED to reinstall the mod running the installer after every ROM update!

There is a typo in the script:
touch /system/ect/install-recovery.sh
chmod 755 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chown 0:2000 /system/ect/install-recovery.sh
should be
Code:
touch /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 755 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chown 0:2000 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh

Ooops didn't check it perfectly just used a Compiler to see if there were some syntax errors, thanks I'll updating the file now!

Script name and command name don't match either, enabler.sh
I think that I found a solution..I wish is helpful !
1) First of all you need to have unlock bootloader and then run the temporary root
(check in "PERMANENT INSTALL" description)
AFTER ROOTING LETS GO FOR UNIT SUPPORT!
I used the init.d support through terminal emulator
2) Download the term-init.sh v3 .
3) Connect the watch to your PC.
4) Place the term-init.sh file inside your adb folder and open the command prompt.. then type the following codes:
(if adb shell or adb root not working, try to disconnect and connect your watch )
Code:
adb root
adb push term-init.sh /sdcard/
(or you can drag and drop it in your sdcard)
adb shell sh /sdcard/ term-init.sh
5) After that go and run the installer.bat file from Amazboost folder!
6) Done!

Is anybody enable init.d on stock fw?
Hi,
I'm trying to install the Amazboost tweaks on my rooted Stratos (A1619) with Global FW (2.3.10.5) but I suspect that the installation of the tweaks via busybox is not running correctly. I have followed precisely the procedures with success but there is no log in the AmazBoost/LOGS folder after the reboot.
I have installed the last version of busybox (V1.29.3 for MIPS) in both /system/bin and /system/xbin but no log at all.
Some posts said that init.d is not working with stock fw.
Is that true?
Is anybody can help me to check if init.d can be enabled on my rooted Stratos (A1619) with Global FW (2.3.10.5)? And how can we verify that it works?
Thanks
Hi,
I'm still trying to understand why init.d is not running on my Stratos (A1619) with Global FW (2.3.10.5).
The init.d script refers to the "run-parts" file located in the /system/xbin/ directory.
But run-parts is not present.
I have found one file coming from the xperia x10 forum but it is not working on the Stratos: /system/xbin/run-parts: not executable: 32-bit ELF file
Is somebody could provide me this run-parts file compliant with the Stratos? (or help me to understand why the amazboost tweaks are not correctly installed)

Mod Edit: Unstickied, placed link in wiki:http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nexus_One Thanks
This is an alternative approach of rooting the Nexus without touching the bootloader.
-no downgrade neccessary
-no battery modification neccessary
-no messing around with SD card slot
-you don't even have to open your phone...
Working and confirmed for ALL ROMs, including European Vodafone EPF30/FRF91, Korean FRF91, AT&T/T-Mo Stock including FRF91

-------
Notes:
-------
- The exploit wasn't found by me (see credits), I just implemented it as a proof of concept for the Nexus One
- Basically this method should work on all currently known ROM versions.
- I tested it on EPF30, Korean FRF91, Vodafone FRF91, US Stock FRF91.
- As usual when doing this kind of stuff: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
- It could even work on other Android devices as long as their system partition is at
/dev/block/mtdblock3/ with yaffs2 file system and there is still some space left on the system partition (without any changes).
-------
Prerequisites:
-------
- Locked Nexus One
- Latest Android SDK incl. USB drivers
- Working ADB
- The file "freenexus.zip"
edit:
get it here:
http://multiupload.com/MVT98F5HBY
or
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1327667/freenexus.zip
MD5: 947C20222056D7C070733E7FCF85CF15
-------
Step-by-step guide:
-------
1. install android sdk & USB drivers
2. extract the content of the zip file into the tools directory of SDK (i.e. \android-sdk-windows\tools)
-> For all Newbies: Take care that you extract the files directly to the tools folder and don't create a new subdirectory freenexus within tools!!! If you did, delete the folder and extract again!!! Check twice that there is no FOLDER freenexus in your tools directory before you continue!!!
3. open a command prompt (Windows: Start, Run, "cmd", OK; Linux: Terminal)
4. change to SDK tools directory (i.e. cd \android-sdk-windows\tools)
5. connect Nexus to USB and check if debugging mode is activated
(Settings/Application/Development/USB Debugging)
6. run "adb devices" in shell and see if there is a device listed. if not back to step 5 or reinstall USB-drivers
7a. for Windows: run "freenexus.bat" in command shell (this copies the neccessary files to /data/local/tmp)
7b. for Linux or manual installation: run the following commands
Code:
adb push freenexus /data/local/tmp/freenexus
adb push Superuser.apk /data/local/tmp/Superuser.apk
adb push su /data/local/tmp/su
adb push busybox /data/local/tmp/busybox
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/freenexus
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/busybox
8. run the following commands:
Code:
adb shell
(you should see a "$" prompt now)
cd /data/local/tmp
9. on your phone go to a screen where you can easily toggle wifi (widget or settings/wireless)
10. be prepared to toggle wifi immediately after you execute the next step
11. run
Code:
./freenexus
12. toggle wifi on
13. you should see something like that:
[*] Android local root exploid (C) The Android Exploid Crew
[*] Modified by ak for HTC Nexus One
[+] Using basedir=/sqlite_stmt_journals, path=/data/local/tmp/freenexus
[+] opening NETLINK_KOBJECT_UEVENT socket
[+] sending add message ...
[*] Try to invoke hotplug now, clicking at the wireless
[*] settings, plugin USB key etc.
[*] You succeeded if you find /system/bin/rootshell.
[*] GUI might hang/restart meanwhile so be patient.
13b) if you get "permission denied" error, you have most likely not followed the big red newbie hint after point 2. check this by entering "ls -l", if you see a "drwxr-xr-x" and not "-rwxr-xr-x" in front of the line where freenexus is listed you did not follow properly. Search the posts in the thread on how to correct this.
14. run
Code:
rootshell
15. if you succeeded you will be asked for a password, if not try again from step 10
16. enter the password "freenexus"
17. now you should see a "#" as a prompt -> you are root now
18. run the following commands:
Code:
./busybox cp busybox /system/bin
chmod 4755 /system/bin/busybox
busybox cp Superuser.apk /system/app
busybox cp su /system/bin
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
rm /system/bin/rootshell
exit
exit
19. Check if you keep root rights:
Code:
adb shell
su
20. after you executed the su command the Superuser app on your device should ask you for allowance
21. you should see the "#" prompt again, if you didn't get that try su again
22. done

Comments:
-------
- General
If you are not planning to wipe your data partition (what you probably will do when installing CM6 first time) you should think about deleting all the temp files still lying in /data/local/tmp (for safety reasons and to have more space on /data):
Code:
adb shell
cd /data/local/tmp
rm busybox
rm su
rm Superuser.apk
rm freenexus
rm flash_image (will only exist if you executed the steps below in recovery section)
- Installation of Custom Recovery
If you only want root rights you are done here. If you want to install custom ROMs you have to install
a custom recovery first. Easiest way would be to download "ROM Manager" from the market. There are plenty of tutorials on how to install custom recovery/ROM at xda.
Edit: It is safer to install the recovery manually. In this case or for those of you running into problems with installing custom recovery with ROM Manager (doesn't stick) you can continue with
these steps (without remount of system partition, now tested successfully):
1) Download recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img to the root directory of your SD-Card
- Note: UnMount your SD-Card after copying these files, but keep your phone plugged in
- or don't mount SD-Card at all and push the file via adb to /sdcard
2) Save file "flash_image" to sdk tools directory:
3) In your terminal run
Code:
adb push flash_image /data/local/tmp/flash_image
adb shell
su
- At this point, it will hang until you choose "Allow" on your phone with the SuperUser app pop-up
- $ should now be replaced with #
5) run the following commands:
Code:
[COLOR="Red"]mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system[/COLOR]
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 flash_image
[COLOR="Red"]./flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img[/COLOR]
rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
rm /system/recovery-from-boot.p
(and if everything worked fine:)
rm flash_image
Alternatively you can continue with step 9 and then steps 16-24 from the old rooting method tutorial
to manually install Amon_RA's recovery. You will also need the file flash_image for that (link taken from HBOOT thread).
- HBOOT
If you rooted from a Korean Rom or have installed the latest Vodafone Rom via PASSIMG you probably have
HBOOT 0.35 which makes it currently difficult to install Cyanogenmod (there is an assertion failure in the install script, at least with CM6 RC1/2. Maybe future versions of CM6 will include HBOOT 0.35 in the script) or other custom ROMs. (You are still on 0.33 if you just installed the Vodafone OTA Update)
There is a tutorial to revert HBOOT here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726258
Instead of using the EPF30 image you can also use any other PASSIMG file (at least if it has HBOOT 0.33,
otherwise this step wouldn't make sense...)
Note that when flashing a PASSIMG with a different HBOOT version there is a reboot after the HBOOT has been flashed, then after reboot the PASSIMG will be loaded again and the rest of the image will be flashed.
To check HBOOT and Radio version: press and hold trackball while turning on the phone. To exit select Reboot with Vol+/- and press Power button.
Caution:
After you have reverted your HBOOT, you have lost your root rights and you are back on stock recovery.
But you can (or have to) repeat the above procedure to get root rights back.
Edit:
The downgrading also downgrades your radio!!! Before installing CM6 you have to flash a Froyo Radio!
Latest one can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723839
-------
Troubleshooting:
-------
After trying to flash a custom ROM with ROM Manager one user wasn't able to boot the phone normally and also no longer able to boot to recovery. In this rare case try to download a compatible PASSIMG file:
For example EPF30 (Europe Vodafone 2.1)
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Pas...ogle_WWE_1.14.1700.1_EPF30_release_signed.zip
or FRF91 (Europe Vodafone 2.2):
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Pas...on_VF_2.15.151.5_R_FRF91_MFG_Shipment_ROM.zip (<-this one is currently a zip in zip. You have to extract it once to get the working PASSIMG.zip)
(Appropriate US-PASSIMGs can also be found on shipped-roms.com, most likely EPE76)
Rename the file to PASSIMG.zip (case sensitive, Windows users take care that the file isn't called PASSIMG.zip.zip hidden extension)
Copy it to main folder of SD card.
Boot phone into Bootloader mode (press and hold trackball when turning on the phone, until fastboot mode starts)
Select Bootloader mode by pressing power button.
The bootloader should then start to analyse the PASSIMG.zip and ask you afterwards to install it.
You're phone (not your SD) will be completely wiped after the procedure but should work again (and can be rooted again...)
sweet!! been waiting for this! will try it tomorrow as soon as i wake up! will report back then!

Massive thanks.
Hi, I have a Italian Vodafone Nexus One with FRF91, i have followed all the steps and now in my apps there is Superuser Permission with green light. It means that i have root rights? Can I install Cyanogen Mod now? Thanks, excuse my English.
Worked perfectly on a stock AT&T N1 with FRF91. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial step by step...great work!
Can i change the password at the end?
So once gaining root, I can flash a custom recovery with rom manager without braking/unlocking the boot loader?
@fc_themaster:
if the superuser app popped up at step 19/20 then you have root rights. you can try to install ROM Manager from the market and install a custom recovery with that porgram. it also needs root rights so superuser should pop up again at that point.
@PSeeCO: you don't need to change a password. the password was only used for the temporary rootshell which you (hopefully) deletetd with the command "rm /system/bin/rootshell" in step 18. From that point on root rights are controlled via the Superuser app. If you install an already rooted custom ROM it is obsolete anyway.
@jivemaster: yes, we can! just use ROM Manager from the market to install custom recovery.

Hello
I am completely new to Android but not at all new to Linux.
I used paxchristos script (ran commands manually though) to root my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. (WT19i / Android 2.3.4 / Build 4.0.2.A.0.58)
Source threads used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18615502
In an attached file, I fixed/modified/added few things in paxchristos script. Here is the detail:
1) Fixed error in symlinking su. (source/destination were same)
2) Don't delete (and recreate) /data/local/tmp/ directory unnecessarily, just delete its contents
3) Uses dd instead of cp (because DooMLoRD's script does, dont know why!). Update: as per anantshri, dd is used because cp has been known to give errors.
4) If your system already has 'adb' then it uses system 'adb' instead of one in zip-archive.
5) Updated zip archive to contain the latest files from DooMLoRD's archive (paxchristos archive seemed old)
Please try/verify and let me know if I missed something.
Thanks.

Is there a way to un-root? Just curious...
Step-by-literal-step
If you feel like seeing the step by step PDF Guide, go to these : attached to post #1, or:
At dropbox.com: http://db.tt/RaAUnzjW
At Ubuntu one: http://ubuntuone.com/64OujxgkGMv1N2QSoPmXin
or at Filesonic: http://www.filesonic.com/file/2730341354
If you're doing the script rooting in linux, do these things first
1) Download and unzip file (it's below at dropbox.com or ubuntu one; or it's posted in #1 as an attachment)
2) open up terminal
3) type "su"
4) enter your password
4a) if you don't have su set up
4b) type "passwd"
4c) enter you username password (no, there will be no ***s to show that you entered anything, just hit enter when you've inputted your password)
4d) input a password for root (unix) (no, there will be no ***s to show that you entered anything, just hit enter when you've inputted your password)
4e) type "su" and enter your password
5) navigate to location you unzipped the file to (chrome default download is /home/[your username]/Downloads)
6) type "chmod 755 runme-linux"
7) type "cd files"
8) type "chmod 755 adb"
9) type "cd .."
10) type "./runme-linux"
11) type "exit" x2 to exit terminal
12) enjoy your rooted play!
Here's the script (and all applicable files) (totally ripped off DooMLoRD's code, thank him, please, for me), go to these links:
At dropbox.com: http://db.tt/a4H6QFfV
At Ubuntu one: http://ubuntuone.com/7mD63kpsKzGmaou5hcftBV
Here's the linux script code
Code:
#!/bin/bash
#This is DooMLoRD's script for windows. I've ported it to linux
#Somethings to remember
#1) Chmod this file!! ("chmod 777 runme-linux")
#2) Run this script as su in terminal (if you haven't set up your su password run the command "passwd" in terminal, it'll ask you for your username password, and then you'll type in a root password. NOTE: You will not see any changes (i.e. *** representing typed letters) but the password is still being inputted.
#I skipped all of DooMLoRD's info because I'm using VIM and don't feel like rewritting it

CrimsonSentinal13 for getting us from adb root to phone rooted!
DooMLoRD for doing the script in windows, and giving me something to work off of!
Have fun people, and enjoy!!
Note: With the stock kernal, we cannot overclock, but you can underclock your cpu
Note2: Drivers were added to the first post (Crimsonsentinal13) for sake of keeping everything simpler added drivers for Xperia Play -- to get them to work (if you don't already have them installed, goto device manager, find the SEMC driver (it might show up as android device or unknown device) then update driver, and point it to this zip (unzipped, of course)
Note3: Android SDK Download link: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Note4: Unrooting?? Who would want to unroot?? One way I unrooted (using my wife's Casio Commando was to uninstall superuser.apk, and the busybox installer (i know, i didn't get rid of everything) but at that point, unless the Verizon/Phone Company employee is a genius, they won't know whether or not you're rooted
Note5: OTA Updates. We don't know what'll happen. If one comes, DENY until we can figure out what'll happen... Most likely, it'll just lose root (hopefully temporarily, we won't know until we get there) but if it bricks all the rooted Plays, I don't want an angry mob with pitchforks at my or Crimsonsentinals13's doorstep
Note6: Updated guide!! Hopefully I fixed all the errors that were in there before (thank you to all the users that pointed them out to me) and added a few things.
Note6B: Somebody had a problem with a busybox installer not downloading from the android market. attached a free one off android market that I used. I only have guesses why this happened (pm setInstallLocation 2...?) but here one is so you have that option as well...
Note6C:I also attached insecure adb. Insecure ADB is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL and should only be downloaded and installed AFTER YOU HAVE ROOT if you want to use root in adb after you reboot. Again COMPLETELY OPTIONAL and you won't necessarily need it.
Note7: As jeffkhlam found out, at no point do you need fastboot. This doesn't unlock the bootloader (no custom roms.)
Note8: If you're having issues doing this, I'll be hopping on and off the thread between 8:00am until about 11:00pm Central Standard Time. If it's not between those hours, please wait, we'll get around to helping you!

Yes that's correct it's only for root apps etc. You need to unlock your bootloader for flashing custom roms and kernels. So no CyanogenMod without unlocking your BL.
Regards Dousan...
Is this is also the correct steps for r800i's ?
I'm on 2.3.3 with my r800i , i won't lose anything using this method, with a locked bootloader, just want/need root access lol

Make sure that /data/local/tmp has permissions to give you full access.

zergRush isn't a directory, it's a binary. Using the cd command won't work on it.
See the guide I posted, now has info to get past annoying stutters
Anybody stuck at step 16, input the following commands
1) cd /data/local/tmp
2) rm boomsh
3) rm sh
4) continue on with rooting!

Hi, I just read some tips about using script for enhancing performance.
It says that the script must be places in system/etc/init.d
But in stock rom P500 (GB 2.3.3 v20G) I can't find folder init.d
The questions:
1. Is the stock rom already support init.d script execution?
2. If yes, will it works just by creating folder init.d and place script there?
3. If not, how to enable support init.d for Optimus One, stock ROM rooted?
I search this forum and find some guide about init.d support in other phone models, will it works on Optimus One too, or perhaps it needs particular way to do it?
1. No
2. If you have init.d support in rom.
3. Only way to do it is cook a custom rom through kitchen to add init.d support

3. answer is some wrong:
you doesnt need to cook a custom rom, you only need the adb (android debug bridge) to "speak" with your phone:
0.) on your phone download busybox from market
1.) install android sdk on your computer
2.) install LG usb drivers on your computer
3.) open a console (on windows use the "cmd" command)
4.) remount "root" to read/write (type following commands in the cmd)
Code:
adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk1 /
exit
5.) retrive the init.rc file from your device: (type the command in the cmd)
Code:
adb pull /init.rc C:\users\XXXXX\Desktop\init.rc
6.) open the init.rc file and add the busybox command to execute scripts in the /system/etc/init.d folder
after the lines that does mkdirs etc but BEFORE zygote starts (this stars the whole android)...
Code:
service userinit /system/xbin/busybox run-parts /system/etc/init.d
oneshot
7.) close and save the file, push it back to your device, than reboot:
Code:
adb push XXXX\XXXX\init.rc /init.rc
now you can use the init.d folder as in CyanogenMod / other custom roms.

That works? I mean init.rc is in ramdisk in boot partition, and gets unpacked on boot, so any changes in / are lost on reboot - at least that is what was told to me.

Option 1 - run logcat during boot (Trough ADB, type logcat in adb shell, a little simpler if using Droid Explorer)
Option 2 - Run a script that changes something that was previously different. Try installing the supercharger (with different from normal minfree values), rebooting and running the script again to make sure the minfree values are modified. If so, init.d is working and vice versa.

I go directly to this step, using root explorer on phone (not using PC+ADB)
But after reboot, init.rc i've already edited before has been restored again to original value, as said by Tasssadar.
Maybe I should do it using PC+ADB instead of direct edit on phone?

then, use the htc kitchen to modify the created rom / or the boot.img
Hi guys
I've imported the SH-06D from Japan and the phone is running great, however I'd like to remove some system apps etc to help speed up the phone (it's still on 2.3.5) and obviously tweak it as well.
I know there is an existing thread on the SH-01D (predecessor to the SH-06D) but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully rooted the SH-06D and if so, is there an (easy) process to do this?
Another reason I want to root, is to install the UI from the upcoming Evangelion Nerv edition of the SH-06D that is due to be released in a few days.
ICS for the SH-06D is just around the corner (due to be released in July) but I'd realy appreciate any help, assistance or tips in rooting the phone as it is now.
Cheers! :fingers-crossed:
Anyone?
:-(
here is a link to root the sh-06d :

THANK YOU!
Have you tried this method and does it work? Can you assist me in following those directions?
Cheers

I wish someone could dump ROM or launcher from SH-06 NERV version:fingers-crossed:
I'm working on the translation for root on Sharp Aquos SH-06D.
Please give me one or two more days!
That is highly impossible, having full root in J Phone are hard enough. Unlocking the bootloader is a wet dream for almost everyone who likes J phone

Any suggestions?
I got the Nerv edition
Hey man, how did the rooting go? I ordered the Nerv edition of this phone, and I want to root it (mainly to pair my sixaxis controller for psx emulation) but wanted to consult with you first as a precaution.
Here is the a rough translation of the root guide found here:
http://itsuki.ddo.jp/gadget/index.php?SH-06D
Big thanks to testnumero for the help!
Please don't ask me directly for help. I don't own this phone.
A quick look at root
• With root you can freeze preinstalled bloatware and backup application settings and game save data.
• 3D content from /system can be played on other devices and 3DTVs.
Unresponsive apps can be frozen which will help the device run smoother and have a longer battery life.
Applications which are frozen disappear from your drawer making the device look cleaner and keeping your mind at ease.
• The process is similar to the one used for SH-01D.
• If an update patch is released or the Android 4.0 summer update is released then this guide will no longer be of help.
(Make sure your device is the following: Android Ver. 2.3.5 Build No. 01.00.03)
• If your device becomes a paperweight I won’t be held responsible.
• Follow this guide at your own risk.
↑
Preparations – Before you begin
• Install Android SDK and SHARP ADB USB drivers and make to use ADB.
• 「Settings」→「Applications」→「Development」→「USB Debugging」 checked.
• SH-06D and micro USB cable to connect to your PC
↑
Required Files
• Download "shdisphook" from the following link and extract.
http://goo.gl/Bs6Iq
• Download shsdgetroot-omap4.zip from the following link and extract.
http://www1.axfc.net/uploader/File/so/78144
• Download shbootgetroot-su.lzh from the following link and extract.
http://www.mediafire.com/?6i0n32jlwbxe8cp
• Keep all extracted files in the same folder.
↑
Creating files
• Create a file named "shdisphook.bat" in the folder with the extracted files.
Copy and paste the following and save.
adb push onload.sh /data/local/
adb push libsdservice_jni.so /data/local/
adb push shdisphook /data/local/
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/onload.sh
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/shdisphook
adb reboot
adb wait-for-device shell /data/local/shdisphook
pause
• Create a file named "oncmd.sh" and put the following in the description.
(Save the line break as LF)
chmod 777 /cache
chmod 666 /cache/recovery
• Replace the contents of the file "installfile.cmd" with the following and save.
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/mount -o rw,remount -t rootfs rootfs /"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/chmod 777 /sbin"
adb push su /sbin
adb push busybox /sbin
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/chown 0.0 /sbin/su"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/chown 0.0 /sbin/busybox"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/chmod 6755 /sbin/su"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/chmod 755 /sbin/busybox"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/sbin/busybox --install -s /sbin"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/chmod 755 /sbin"
adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -c "/system/bin/mount -o ro,remount -t rootfs rootfs /"
adb push Superuser.apk /data/local/
adb shell /system/bin/pm install -t -f -r /data/local/Superuser.apk
adb shell /system/bin/rm /data/local/Superuser.apk
exit /b
↑
Step 1
• Open command prompt to the folder with the extracted files and navigate to "shdisphook".
Execute "shdisphook.bat". (You can also just double click on the .bat file)
• The device will reboot so just wait for the [Press any key to continue] message to appear.
If more than a few minutes have passed and nothing has appeared then, force close and execute "shdisphook.bat" again.
(When you fail your PC will reboot or your SH-06D WiFi will start. There is a high rate of success when you immediately unlock the lock screen for your device when it goes to sleep.)

Step 2
• Open command prompt and send oncmd.sh to SH-06D to change permissions
adb push oncmd.sh /data/local/oncmd.sh
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/oncmd.sh
• 「Settings」→「microSD and device storage」→「Unmount microSD」 This will execute the file "oncmd.sh" , which was sent to the device earlier.
(Cancel the message for 「Unmount microSD」)
• Enter the following commands.
adb shell mv /cache/recovery /cache/recovery_
adb shell ln -s /dev/shsd /cache/recovery
• Execute the following adb shell ls -l /cache and if you see the following message you have succeed.
drwxrwx--- root root 2011-11-11 03:39 lost+found
drw-rw-rw- system cache 2012-01-24 10:48 recovery_
lrwxrwxrwx shell shell 2012-03-02 13:24 recovery -> /dev/shsd
• Next execute adb shell ls -l /dev/shsd you should get the following message if you were successful.
crw-rw-rw- system cache 231, 0 2012-04-23 02:01 shsd

Step 3
• Execute adb push shsdgetroot-omap4 /data/local
• Execute adb shell /system/bin/chmod 755 /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4
• Execute adb shell /data/local/shsdgetroot-omap4 -v -m -u
• The “# “mark will appear there will be no response. Close command prompt for now.
• Execute installfile.cmd
• Check if you have root with the following adb shell→su

After you reboot
• After you reboot you will lose root rights so execute shdisphook.bat→Cancel Unmount microSD →execute installfile.cmd and you should have root again.
The reason why you cannot do a clean wipe or nothing happen is because the recovery section has been move out into another location, causing it to not loading the recovery correctly.
Check with SH-01d part, I have asked similar question there and I revert the recovery in order to wipe the phone..
You need to rearrange the following section like on the sh-01d when you hit this part:
(Following is Original command that you relocated the recovery for root)
adb shell mv /cache/recovery /cache/recovery_
adb shell ln -s /dev/shsd /cache/recovery
And replace with the revert command found on sh-01d thread. You will need to redo all the steps from step 1 to step 2 and STOP AFTER YOU REVERT the RECOVERY.
You should be able to do a full wipe with no issue then. DO NOT POWER DOWN or RESET!!! You will have to REDO it again as it REQUIRES SHDSIHOOK to input shell command.
Hope it helps

Hello everyone,
I've updated my firmware to the latest version of my huawei ascend p7 making it impossible to root my phone. Now what I'm trying to do is get the non-rooted busybox working and replace the old links of commands with the ones in busybox. I'm using the following commands to do that:
First I export the path and such using:
Code:
export PATH=$PATH:/data/data/burrows.apps.busybox/app_busybox;
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/data/data/burrows.apps.busybox/app_bussybox
Now I'm able to use busybox in my terminal (only for that session, when I exit the terminal and restart it I would have to re-do the export path thing).
So... I wanted to replace all the links to those of busybox using the following command:
Code:
for c in `busybox --list`; do busybox ln -s busybox $c; done
This however outputs for each command for example cat:
Code:
ln: cat: Read-only file system
I've read somewhere that you can remount your system partition in order to make it writeable? Is this the way to do it? And if so what commands should I run? I have access through adb and a normal shell on the phone. Remember: it's non-rooted...
EDIT: seems like I can't remount /system without root priviledges...
Also I would like to be able to have a full colored bash shell with a bashrc (in which I can add the path to busybox aswell) if that's possible.
I'm using jackpal's android terminal emulator.
EDIT: I think I might've posted this on the wrong forum, if anyone is so kind as to move this to this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/help I would greatly appreciate it. Altho I think this might be a general question rather then a model specific question.
