Hello guys,
I'm on the verge of buying this phone with the global ROM and before buying it I would like to know if the notifications on this phone work properly. Can anyone confirm this? I don't want a smartphone where the notifications not work or partly work. Anyone with this phone in Europe that can tell me more about the Europe edition?

I assume Europe version is international global version, then yes all notification is work, but it won't keep notified you, once notified and it will don't have any indicator in top status bar, you need to pull down to check but they do have a dot indicator in the icon if they is any pending notification at notification area.
The notification may not coming in if you let the default on of "Smart Power Consumption Protection", this once turn off then no issue. You can do custom Power Saver after turning this off with 3 more options as "Allow running in the background", "Prohibited running in the background" and also " Intelligent control". Intelligent control is default setting, this feature I find it useful as for example I never need notification from Facebook and Facebook is sucking battery, thus I can put it under "Prohibited running in the background".

So you are saying all notifications works but sometimes it won't notify you untill you look at the notification bar slider. Also another question. The Europe versions doesn't have the navigation gestures but can you actually hide the on-screen buttons so I could use pie controll and keep having a full screen.

I mean the notification work but it won't show icon on top, you need to slide down to see. They only show a dot in apps.
Mine is not europe version, I from Malaysia and mine is Malaysia version and navigation gestures is there and I am using it. Sorry I cannot help you on this.

Just another question. Does your Find X support L1 or L3 on YouTube and Netflix?

L3 only which means Netflix only playback at SD quality.

Hello.
Me and my friend, we installed on his phone an android 2.3.6. It was from their official website. But after installing few things change. And one of them is that there is no notification bar anymore. (the one you can slide down on homescreen, there is the bar wich u can slide down but no "bluetooth, wifi, gps etc")
I saw a video where you go to display settings and tick the notification bar or something like that , but there isnt such an option on his phone.
Please help us out.
anyone?

Hello
I'm seeking to get notifications (such as gmail subject, or a new sms) on my lock screen.
So I installed HeadsUp Notification which is said to be compatible with Android 4.2 and lower, and I cannot activate the service in the android options.
I mean, there is a "service" option, I click on it, and I find a screen where there is only a text, and no checkbox or anything
Do you know how to activate the service? Or to get another application that may display my notifications on my lock screen? (even if it replaces my actual lockscreen).
Thanks

This thread may help you to activate the service:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/omate-truesmart/help/enabling-accessibility-services-t2920649
I am also looking for a notifications app, see my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oma.../looking-notification-app-standalone-t2925247
I will try HeadsUp Notification.
So I thought I would start a thread since this seems to be the best app out there to replace our missing notifications LED. This seems to be the best solution at the moment but I'm having some issues.
1. I can't seem to get the colors to change on a per-app basis.
2. The edge lighting around the notch doesn't seem to work.
Has anyone else figured this out or have any other suggestions?
Here is a link to the app for those that haven't tried it yet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.used.aoe
In settings for the app, give it the required permissions, scroll down to the blue box that says "enable app and its color and time", select the app you want, check enable edge lighting, (I have only checked out One Color) then tap the colored box, and select the color you want, and press Choose.
Been playing with it today. Works well enough that I paid. One remaining concern, is effect on battery so we'll have to see how it behaves tomorrow.
For the ring around the camera, enable "notch support" under widget settings and make sure you have either "around all screen" or "around notch only" selected under lighting above.
To get per app notifications, use the "when a notification comes" option under how to start and it will open up a selection.
Another really cool feature is "display notification icons" that can be used together work edge lighting, or stand alone by itself to create an alternative to aod that stays on when there are notifications pending.

For "when a notification comes", no option to choose for Whatsapp or Gmail?

Try the system apps checkbox. The UI isn't the greatest and it took me a while to get mine sorted out, but seems to work really well one configured.

System apps checkbox in the AOE? Didn't see this option. If on the individual app, I've set all notifications to on
I've been playing with the notch ring only cause is what I am interested but it somehow disable Always Display and dont know how to get it back... I just want the led notch ring notifications
Is it me or does this app have an archaic setup process? It just looks so dated and hard to use.

Found that. Thank you.
Which option do you choose for the following;
*allow this app to run without restriction or
*allow the system to prevent this app from running sometimes
I am curious....it cannot be setup to work as the original led notifications, right? I mean, the light ring disappears after a few seconds...cannot be set to repeat after a certain period of time..?
Yeah, it has a reminder function. Thanks for clarifying to myself )
Curious about battery usage with this app. The features are cool but the setup is just a pain.

You can set the time that it shows up and also there is a repeat option as well.
Hi. Great app!! However... Even tho I've ticket to show the app's icon when a notification is received... I don't. Any ideas? Cheers
I can't get this to work at all on my s10. wanted to it flash different colours (with screen off) for variety of notifications (Skype, WA, Nine (email). Messenger). None work. can't get any light to come on at all....is there something I'm missing!?
Make sure that the built in edge lighting isn't turned on.

Thanks - all good. Seemed that Nine was supported as Samsung email works fine as does Whats App. To me this is a 100% solution to the no LED light so happy days..
Yes I'm very happy with it so far. :good:
Im still tweaking with this - can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the AOD it puts on the phone. I just want the notification ring.
I cant seem to get this to work as well

The problem is due to all the PER-app notification permissions. (I was missing notifications all the time. )
The next time you miss a notification: (Instructions are for MIUI12 but should be similar for MIUI1. I think the upgrade may have also reset some of the notification settings):
Swipe down on the status bar from the top left.
Long-press on the notification that you missed.
Click MORE SETTINGS. (The app in question will display.)
Ensure "Show Notifications" is enabled.
Allow Sound, Vibration, LED.
Below Notification Categories, press on one of the notification sub-categories:
Ensure "Show Notifications" is enabled for the sub-category. Change "Importance" to Default or High. (If it is "LOW", the other options are disabled.)
Change the notificaiton SOUND, Vibration, LED as desired.
If the missing notification isn't appearing in the status bar or if you want to fix the problem with other apps, you will have go to SETTINGS | NOTIFICATIONS and find the app yourself.
tried all the above...still does not work
Today: Poco X3 PRO + MIUI 12.5.1 and still the same problem. How could it be broken for so long? Maybe no one cares
Problem, no notification icons are displayed on the AOD although everything is activated in the AoD settings. Otherwise the notification with sound and vibration will be displayed on the lock screen. Anyone an idea?

I have the same issue with Find N2. The text message icon shows on the AOD, but none of the other notifications show.

for CN rom, only oppo approved apps get to appear on AOD.. this translates to mainly oppo's own apps and a few popular china govt approved apps like qq and wechat.. its likely hard coded into the AOD..

Oh, that makes sense, because I am using Oppo Messages, and Google Phone and Gmail.
Yes, Oppo Apps, Phone and SMS are present in AoD .
OK, i can survive with this option.
Thanks for information!
With the App "Allways on Amoled" from PlayStore you geht all App Notifications.
The app eats the battery, better not install it
