Very much appreciate the great root instructions...
Now that I'm rooted, is there a list of what Moto bloatware I can safely remove (specifically which files)?
Thanks...

[Q] De-bloating to bare minimum

hi
got a photon
rooted it , am on 2.3.4
( bootloader still locked and no custom recovery - thinking of keeping it like this )
removed all sprint apps by using Titanium backup ( of course after making a backup )
can someone guide me how can i debloat this rom to bare minimum , there are far too many useless apks on it , but i dont wanna do anything stupid.
is there a way to debloat it further to get better battery and more free ram.
regards

Deleting stock apps

Hi!!
Only reason I have right now to root is to uninstall these stock apps my phone came with. Is there anyway to do it without a root? Or do I need to root it?? I'm currently on MI1..if I do need a root which one is a good tut to follow. Is it better to update fully to MJ7 then root? Just trying to see what's best.
Let me know
Thank you!

I believe that there is root method for MI1 but not a safe one for MJ7 so I would not update.

Thanks RP, I kind of thought that was the case. I found this thread:

@n2locarz, that is the best way to go. The only thing I did was remove as much bloat using Titanium Backup. I'm comfortable with what I have now. It's quick and gets the job done. Not AOSP, but fast enough and runs great!

I used the scripts found on another Forum ( Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4 General) - CWM][4.2./4.3/4.4/5] DE-SAMSUNGNIZER Script V5.5.1 - Clean all unneeded Samsung Crap (link below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507931
I have used the "DE-SAMSUNGNIZER_KNOX_REMOVAL_SCRIPT_V3.0_LOLLIPOP.zip " and the "DE-SAMSUNGNIZER_SCRIPT_V5.5.1_LOLLIPOP.zip" via Flashfire and found both work fine with the Verizon I545.
This is a bit easier than using Titanium Backup for removal of the majority of the junk Samsung installs.
Stock, de-odex is great.
Here's another debloat script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/general/i545oc1batchdebloater-customizable-t3147414

I believe one of the other forums on here has several debloated stock roms, other then that you could just try it yourself if you knew what you were doing. What i have done before was deleting stock apps and flashing back to stock if i messed up, really do your research before hand though. Pretty soon we will have a custom rom, since it looks like some Russian people have cm working on the other forum.
I usually only remove a few apps. Not too many. A few metro apps and a very few google apps.
